I must say this thread has been very educational for me.

Stockdale has repeated that he will be President or walk away. He will not accept the Vice Presidency which apparently has been offered. To me he appears petulant and it is about him, not the club.

And to me. For a club previously that won insufficient games over 2 years it was pick 1. We are in that position now, are being tipped to lose to the bottom side this week, have been described as pathetic on field and have been down for 7 years. While the AFL have said the automatic right to the PP has ended, they have reserved the right to award it themselves, based on circumstances of a club at the relevant time. If they use the criteria previously used and feel that we fit within that criteria, one would have to assume it is pick 1 we are talking about, or some other form of draft assistance that is at least the equal of pick 1. Pick 10, 20 or 30 is not the equal of pick 1. I think the AFL have to give us this type of assistance if they are serious about us improving and becoming competitive. Of course the pick alone won't be the panacea, but it will be one of the vital ingredients, along with good coaching, proper player development, smart drafting/trading, adequate football funding, proper administration of the club etc. I have said before, if we don't get the maximum assistance this year, no club will again. The AFL don't want to have that restriction.

That is what I told my son after the game. I basically said the season is over and we have to look forward to a new coach, more new mids and next year. You can't just keep beating yourself up every week over the performance of this team. He even went to Geelong and got absolutely drenched. I swore off Geelong after 186.It is just so bloody sad to see where we are at the moment. That said however I honestly believe 3 good mids could change things dramatically.

My view has been all along that the Bomber will get punished big time for this from the AFL. I am unsure whether they have been proved to have breached the drug codes, that will come out soon. What I find despicable is that they have made players have injections, that may have long term side effects and that even today they are unable to definitively tell their players what they took and the possible side effects attached. That deserves everything that the AFL can throw at them, which IMO has to include multiple years of lost draft picks and the heaviest fine possible, together with other sanctions.

Agree Ben, there is no pleasure in seeing someone get so stressed that their health suffers from a voluntary office. None of us know what Evans knew and to see him getting sick from trying to save his club is sad.BTW I could never hate any other club as much as I hate Carlton.

Davey had directly cost us two goals at the point we were 13 points down in the 2nd.I disagree Dunn cost us numerous goals. Dunn is actually a good kick and is the only one who seems to be able to kick out and hit a target. Other than Watts no one else can. He is no star but he played a good game today. He can also tag and be a run with player. Would you rather he have the ball in his hands or McKenzie? I would also like Davis to get a run.

Did you actually watch the game today. I thought Dunn was about our best. He played on Thomas, who kicked 7 last week and was thrashed by Dunn today. Gee give him some credit for a good game.You want to talk about gutless, hello Flash. If it was me he would have played his last game for us today.

No!!!!! We need 5 PP's. of course we won't get them but I would start a media campaign now for as much as we can get in an ambit claim. It would be impossible to mount an argument against draft assistance for us. Currently we are an embarrassment.
