Jimmy is " DEVELOPING" . We will see a much better player after another injury free pre season.

Yesterday did us no harm in the quest for AFL draft assistance. Added to a 7 year period of failure and this year's pre Craig period of absolute catastrophic results, we can now add a record low of 19 inside 50's in a game. This stat goes back to 1999. So that means in the last 14 years, we yesterday recorded the lowest amount of forward entries by a team. The AFL said they will still give PP's or help according to the results of a couple of years at their discretion. Our position is far worse and much longer. No one can mount a stronger case than us for help. To not give that help to us, means effectively no club can ever get that help. I don't think the AFL wants to leave itself in that position in the future. As to the help, a PP will give us a young kid. Look at yesterdays game, another young kid wouldn't have helped against the Cats big bodies. Does that mean the AFL looks at different help? Maybe. We have mentioned a mini draft situation before and a couple of mini draft selections are different, as they don't affect this draft and don't add extra picks to next year's. They also remove most of the other club's complaints about compromising the draft. They also allow for trading for experienced players, plus draft position improvement. That can produce quicker results. That is clearly what the AFL would want, an immediate impact. I can see us getting a couple of mini draft selections from the AFL at season's end.

i am pretty sure this is all about Roos' family. If they say no, it's no.

I thought Matt Jones was great today.
-
Nice attitude.

That was our submission for Draft Assistance from the AFL. 30 points scored and a 50 inside 50 differential, together with the lowest inside 50 count ever recorded. Up to you other clubs, argue against that.

Agree. Some blokes wouldn't now a football from their arse.

We are being showed up today by a strong skilful great wet weather side at their home ground. Not playing Rodan in these conditions was a big mistake.
-
Whoever dropped Rodan when it was going to rain, with the ball on the ground so much, take a bow. A hard strong quick low to the ground player is dropped for a heavy track, gee.

Broad is following in the family footsteps. His father chris broad, refused to leave the wicket after being given out, in a match in the mid eighties. Graham Gooch had to walk down the pitch and tell him to leave. Given the obvious dismissal, young Broad's performance was extremely poor. It is one thing on LBW's and disputed catches, to wait for the umpire, but when you know you are clearly out, you don't cheat. His performance was pathetic. Sadly it looks like the Poms will win this test, unless we bat brilliantly in the 2nd innings.

Funny.

Did someone mention "bananas"?

Interesting that Rodan, who leads bounces for the MFC and is 4th in clearances, goal assists, tackles and 5th in contested possessions, is dropped, while my "favourite", Byrnes, remains in the side. This has to be his swan song.
-
Agree. It is not his fault we selected him at 4.
-
Look at their injuries. Also they need to try him out to see if he stays on the list.
-
Pretty impressive. Football background as well.
-
Planned well before he took the MFC gig.
-
You would think so.
-
Sounds good to me.

I think he has, but he knows Roos is first choice and has said the club must first decide what sort of coach it wants. He wants it though, but will understand if Roos gets it. I hope he stays if Roos gets the job.

Would like to see Taggart and Tynan get a run before the season ends. They both need the experience and the encouragement to strive harder.
-
I think there is a rule about clearing a newly contracted player. The Hawks will not match a $12 million offer. They can't and everyone knows it.

Have nearly finished reading Roos' book of a few years ago, Sport is Life, Life is Sport, co written with his wife Tami. Roos is an unusual person, very moralistic and caring of other people. He does not appear motivated by money and I am pretty sure any stumbling block, would be the attitude of his family. He will not coach us if his family are against it. As well as his media work and part time coaching, he is a very successful motivational speaker and would not be short of a dollar. I have no doubt he will change our culture if he coaches us. The players will grow under him. The club will grow with him at the helm. I can see why we are desperate to get him and the AFL are desperate for us to snare him. Make no mistake, he is responsible for the Swans culture. If our membership didn't exceed 40000 for the first time, with him as Coach, I would be amazed. He will help us keep players and recruit others. He will give everyone in the place renewed hope.

Exactly what they will do. It is Buddy trying to make the Hawks fans not hate him. GWS will not fall for it. They will say $12 million, take it or leave it, but no strings attached.
