I’m with Dazzle on Petty. He is our current best chance of a 3rd key forward and is still very young and raw. Imagine another 20 games and 5-6 kgs of muscle, with another pre season and you will have a good footballer. He can take a big grab and needs to improve his set shots and he will be ok for us.
  2. I wonder what Barrett was getting at when he wrote on the AFL website that Melbourne might have some ugly problems that can’t be fixed over pre season.
  3. Maybe he prefers ANB at CHB.

One of the funnier posts of the year. Got me laughing.

I believe we have our eyes on an assistant boot studder.

Can it be carb heavy soup?
  7. He was last year and I was pushing him hard on DL, for whatever that is worth ( nothing ). Probably ungettable now.
  8. Agree WJ. He appeared to bask in the success of last year and now appears to be distancing himself from any blame, if there is any. As to the different forward line last year, you can add Melksham missing at least 10 games so far and a complete loss of form and then injury to Jeffy. If he just said we have been terrible this year it would be undeniable, but brand is BS. Have the Pies lost their brand in the last 6 weeks, or is their brand protected by injuries?
  9. The brand criticism is BS. What is a club’s brand? Wins/losses however is fact. Ladder position is fact.
  10. Yep, huge guys.
  11. Bring back Beamer.
  12. His dad was a man mountain, so Austin could fill out nicely.
  13. True to form look for the negative.
  14. Agree. Honestly, I am at the stage now, where if they keep picking our mate, I don’t want to go or watch. I don’t like picking on a kid who is doing his best, but this is a ruthless business and I don’t understand why we play one short every week, unless we want pick 2, which we seem to have secured.
  15. His disposal was like all his team mates last night, terrible. Even Salem was poor. However he is coming off a second acl and I think we just want him to get through the games this year to get some confidence in his knee and then to get back to his best next year. I think he continues to play the sweeper role this year, not the body on body role.
  16. Agree on all except Oscar, who was terrible last night. Went back and looked at some of the games last year and he was ok. Is he just having a poor season or is he not up to it, I am unsure. I would like to see him tried up forward, to see if he can do anything there. I still think he needs another 5-8 kgs of muscle and that would be a priority if I was in charge. I think extra muscle would boost his confidence and give him every chance to make it.If that didn’t help and last night became his norm, well then he would be gone. I am now worried about Baker and Billy, who I like, but has too many injuries and when playing doesn’t get the ball enough. Anyway we have some interesting decisions to make soon.
  17. Maybe one positive, Noah Anderson. Also we now hold the AFL record for scores off turnovers, to the opposition. With 5 minutes to go we had conceded 84 points of their 103 from turnovers. That is simply disgusting.
  18. If you polled DL as to who is our best kick I am confident most would pick Salem. You wouldn’t, that’s fine. BTW who do you think is a better kick than Salem?
  19. I am waiting for the 6 day break with travel to kick in. Maybe it has already.
  20. Rubbish. Probably 2nd in our B & F atm. Our most reliable kick is having a mare.
  21. Salem can’t hit a target. Our disease has finally got him.
  22. It is purely the disposal. We get it and turn it over. We are the worst skilled side in the AFL by a mile.

I have always maintained that this is a classy and educational thread and your poem fits in nicely with that view.
  24. Not sure why he hasn’t been given a chance in the midfield. Changing the dynamic of the midfield can be a handy tactic if used correctly.
