I agree. The continual talk about putting games into a range of NQR (1st Demons game, new player, return from injury) really worry me. The 1st game against Port Adelaide is huge for many reasons. It is at home, we're starting favourite(uh oh), other than Suns and GWS we could go into the Bye without a decent win. If we win We may get on a roll with the bombers the following week in round 2. We need to have our best possible side. its no gimmee.

That was the worst Footy Classified I have seen, and Im normally easily pleased. If that is the standard now that Grant Thomas has left, it is very disappointing.

I dont agree we need to play Hogan this year.. Most successful teams stop turning over their B players once they get a few A+ players going through together. Jesse Viney and Toumpas may be A+ They make the best of them knowing some B players will be worth a spot in the ones at 26-29 when the team meshes behind the stars. I would prefer to keep Jesse on ice for a year now as we may need his very best years to be starting 3 years away. Not 2. Breretons best years were fading before he was 28.

I havent seen BH so positive since he declared that if MFC dont take Jack Watts at No. 1 he was outta here. Had to be said.

I agree RPFC There seems to be a united view that those who have left are the main ones who have spoken. As I have previously stated it is hard to tell lies to a professional interogator at an arranged meeting. Stories told may not have been for bitter reasons and may merely have just provided information. It is then twisted into propagander by Wilson et al. I hate the way we are eager to accuse and incite hatred to those that worked for us or served in a voluntary role on the board. Sure some arent happy but that doesnt mean they are working against us. It works against us as a club if we dont let it go.

I see the Port game as the most important game of the season which many will dismiss as they have already counted it. And if we do win it, it will seem that I worried over not much. But it will be the first win in round one for many years. It will show me we have turned a corner. It will show if Neeld has played players to give them a run or picked the team most likely to win. Hard to judge if we win. I am curious that not too many feel the same nervousness. But boy I hate being favorites for this match($1.65)

I think Neale Daniher did very well seeing we were broke for most of his time at the club. He tried his absolute hardest but thats just my view.

There are so many reasons to dislike this short post: a) It was widely reported that Daniher gave instruction on choosing Luke Molan. b) Many thought Morton wasn't a bad choice at the time. c) Why do people butcher every possible committee man, player, servant of the club? We loved it when CC came onto 'ology/Land at the time ... it gave us gravitas. That is all.

The schadenfreude for Essendon's woes I can understand but dont agree with. The hatred for Collingwood is old school but Eddie has supported Demons in the recent past, even if his support is eddie centric and flawed. I have no feeling for them. If however the club was the hawthorns, I would be high-fiving the air big time. That shwine Kennett has kicked us repeatedly. Wish it was them.

In my view a win in the 1st round against Port Adelaide is crucial. How many years since we won our 1st game? Every time I read someone proposing we will allow Clark or Trengove to play into form or that we need to "give XXX some games" I worry that we wont be putting our absolute best team out there for this game. Looking at round 2 or assuming this is a gimmee is scary. I think it is a legitimate thread.

I think Caroline Wilson will have an article ready to go when the AFL pronounce judgement. I also believe MFC will have known the outcome before it is announced. In other words whatever is going to happen will be worked out behind the scenes and there will be no legal fight. I dont have sauce on vegetables and dont agree with this process but I bet thats how it will play.
