I would have thought it would be common knowledge that he had a calf for most of last year. This is the 1st Ive seen of it.

Renewing my membership will always happen. I went on my own today and stood on the steps. The familiar faces are not there so much. My son has jumped ship. Old rusted on supporters I expected to come across, I did not see. I'm bitterly disappointed.

Maybe that's a joke but after reports that there was a confident happy air about training yesterday and then seeing no improvement at the MCG today....At least he wouldn't [censored] down my back and tell me it's raining.

Good report. Thanks guys.

I agree we will be a better side by the 2nd half of the year. But we must pull out all stops to beat Port Adelaide in Round one. No "playing into position" or experimentation. It looms to me as the most important game currently on our calendar. The positives of winning the Port game on MCG will/would be massive. Internally and externally. The negatives equally so. Just go hell for leather, coaches and players, I dont care if we get flogged by Essendon the following week if we win the 1st round.

It sounds like Ben Hur must have a 10 year membership pin. Thats fantastic. Maybe he can change his monika to Needles to reflect the achievement.

So Watts is being discussed again. Funny there is not much said about No. 31.

I agree. The continual talk about putting games into a range of NQR (1st Demons game, new player, return from injury) really worry me. The 1st game against Port Adelaide is huge for many reasons. It is at home, we're starting favourite(uh oh), other than Suns and GWS we could go into the Bye without a decent win. If we win We may get on a roll with the bombers the following week in round 2. We need to have our best possible side. its no gimmee.

So shannon Bynes is a much worse footballer than Joel McDonald?

Mitchell Vs Viney

I dont agree we need to play Hogan this year.. Most successful teams stop turning over their B players once they get a few A+ players going through together. Jesse Viney and Toumpas may be A+ They make the best of them knowing some B players will be worth a spot in the ones at 26-29 when the team meshes behind the stars. I would prefer to keep Jesse on ice for a year now as we may need his very best years to be starting 3 years away. Not 2. Breretons best years were fading before he was 28.

I havent seen BH so positive since he declared that if MFC dont take Jack Watts at No. 1 he was outta here. Had to be said.

THE WILSON FILE - the arrogance at the heart of the innuendo
Damo replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I agree RPFC There seems to be a united view that those who have left are the main ones who have spoken. As I have previously stated it is hard to tell lies to a professional interogator at an arranged meeting. Stories told may not have been for bitter reasons and may merely have just provided information. It is then twisted into propagander by Wilson et al. I hate the way we are eager to accuse and incite hatred to those that worked for us or served in a voluntary role on the board. Sure some arent happy but that doesnt mean they are working against us. It works against us as a club if we dont let it go. -

Will they auction off the gold buttons sliced off by sword from CC's uniform at the branding ceremony? But seriously, if CC does a sportsmans night, count me in!

I see the Port game as the most important game of the season which many will dismiss as they have already counted it. And if we do win it, it will seem that I worried over not much. But it will be the first win in round one for many years. It will show me we have turned a corner. It will show if Neeld has played players to give them a run or picked the team most likely to win. Hard to judge if we win. I am curious that not too many feel the same nervousness. But boy I hate being favorites for this match($1.65)

Round 1 will greatly influence me.

"No reason to get excited," the thief, he kindly spoke, "There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke. But you and I, we've been through that, and this is not our fate, So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late." All along the watchtower, princes kept the view While all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too. Outside in the distance a wildcat did growl, Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl.

Colin Sylvia - can he take a step up at last?
Damo replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Our future, this next year at least, involves Colin Sylvia. I have spoken before about the bad luck he has had and the bad decisions he has made. This is the 1st year in 3 years where injury has not hampered his ambition to pay back the team. Long time in footy. It may seem it is a turning point, but he had his jaw broken one year then his back the following. Both Pre-season. I believe he will turn it on this year and I have backed him at 250/1 for the brownlow. (each way I admit) But good odds are always attractive in the mind of the beholder. Black caviar yesterday was 10/ on. I believe Col is better set than Trengove, Garland or Grimes to have an excellent year. Whoops... they are all leadership material. -
So you aren't a casual commentator? What if I feel no solidarity with you, comrade?
