  1. Jordie was so out of his depth yesteday that i wondered about the process that saw him in the ones. Not in any where near his best form at present, when he is going badly he is truely shocking. Nearly every time he got near it he actually fell over before grabbing at it. then stuffed up the disposal.
  2. Its not just a slow mid-field. Its a bad mid-field, occasonally a hit-out would go straight into one of our players in the square. It always bounced off his head or wherever and was never gobbled up. Having been guilty of this myself in my halcyon days(ha) it always makes me cringe. Didnt see it happen to Jones. The other thing that is a concern is that we cant take contested one-out marks. Grimes (for example)used to be good at it. Now he often cant even spoil.
  3. Mckenzie just falls over every contest
  4. Trengrove and mckenzie are so slow. Watts won't run
  5. Better than Rose coloured glasses... Watts does do some things well but he scouts the pack and doesnt attack the ball too often. We are better with Jack Watts than without him IMO, but he needs understand he isnt David Rhys-Jones who only looked like he was half hearted. Gawn eagerly fights for the pill which would put the acid on Jack if they were both deep in the forward line.
  6. We certainly cant have Watts and Strauss both squibbing it in the back half. Watts Gawn and Davey in the forward line might very well work. Anyway, its the last stop before Casey for Watts. Gawn goes hard for contested spillages and it might galvanize Jack Watts.
  7. If anyone has any doubt about some so-called supporters look at the mob of sucks who were baying for blood and hoping we lost, earlier on in this thread.
  8. Gawn Pederson and Byrne firing. Apart from glancing at this thread, we are still a good chance. In fact Im happy we werent leading at 1/2 time.
  9. I think Danks will have more to say soon. He is feeding the chooks periodically. Dr Bates has not yet spoken about the situation to any one except AFL and (apparently) falsely to MFC. There is more to come, I believe. A week is a long time in football. I cant believe people are talking as if they know all the facts. Also I am in a quandary whether a CEO or President is failing in his own duty by querying a Doctor of Medicine's methods.
  10. Im worried that the AFL asked the president and he didnt know.
  11. As B Bob has said, I dont mind being not told the whole truth but to hide the issue from the AFL when it looks 99% sure the AFL would find out anyway is head in the sand stuff. If McLardy was told, he has to go. If he wasnt told, he must resign.
  12. The filter I use for credible criticism is "are you a member of the club you barrack for"? When the response is "what does that have to do with it", it makes me use swear words as i dont rate monkey gallery experts.
  13. Dear Damo, Your team is [censored] Your support is [censored] Your administration is [censored] Your club is [censored] Your only saviour is the AFL Rohan is a bloke I know and he has confided that he giggles when he writes a piece on 'the dees' The above is from somebody that I used to know. Be assured I have replied in the strongest possible fashion. Anyone else battling with the mongrels today?
  14. Damo

    I quit

My family are essendon supporters. Wait, make that barrackers. They are never members but do [censored] like pay for pictures holding Premiership cups without any sense of irony. Jonesbag Im tipping youre a member. Thats real support. I figure most on this site are. Im tempted to do what you did, but if your like me you cant look away.
  15. I think the madia want heads on pikes and as soon as one goes, the focus will be on the next one. Now is not the time to sack someone. It starts a frenzy. Having said that, Schwab is responsible IMO for bugler, collar, blazer, First and Forever and fancy emblem. Is that who we are? When I grew up in the '60s MFC was a club supported by many rural folk. Believe it or not. Lots of Country People supported MFC and it wasnt a big deal who was "supposed" to follow them. Now we have bought into a class conscious jackpot. I dont agree with it as it overstates who we are. We stuck our neck out and it Isnt paying off.
  16. I cant stop following MFC. I need some-one to stop the club from continuing.
  17. Is it possible to cap each members ability to create new threads per day? To One.
  18. I would have thought it would be common knowledge that he had a calf for most of last year. This is the 1st Ive seen of it.
  19. Renewing my membership will always happen. I went on my own today and stood on the steps. The familiar faces are not there so much. My son has jumped ship. Old rusted on supporters I expected to come across, I did not see. I'm bitterly disappointed.
  20. Maybe that's a joke but after reports that there was a confident happy air about training yesterday and then seeing no improvement at the MCG today....At least he wouldn't [censored] down my back and tell me it's raining.
  21. I agree we will be a better side by the 2nd half of the year. But we must pull out all stops to beat Port Adelaide in Round one. No "playing into position" or experimentation. It looms to me as the most important game currently on our calendar. The positives of winning the Port game on MCG will/would be massive. Internally and externally. The negatives equally so. Just go hell for leather, coaches and players, I dont care if we get flogged by Essendon the following week if we win the 1st round.
  22. It sounds like Ben Hur must have a 10 year membership pin. Thats fantastic. Maybe he can change his monika to Needles to reflect the achievement.
  23. 24. So Watts is being discussed again. Funny there is not much said about No. 31.
