I wont be watching at all Soi'. Cant see this match being anything other than a complete domination by the Swanies, and i would prefer to actually enjoy my time (Probably at a nice restaurant by the ocean eating seafood with my twin and our wives) on holidays getting pizzed and doing something enjoyable. Always have the replay if by some miracle i'm wrong. I think our turnaround will start in round 5.

Geez 45, you are way more confident than i am. I think Sydney will slaughter us on Thursday.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
ding replied to DemonLad5's topic in Melbourne Demons
To call a trade bad after only one game in the seniors is more than a little bit crazy. Geezus, at least allow the bloke to get back on the park and find his feet in the team. If he plays poorly for a long time, then you might have a point, but at least wait until he proves one way or the other. Lever was rubbish when he first came into our team, and despite what some others thought, i wasn't particularly excited by what he bought to the side before his injury. He may well come back and be playing like he was for The Cows before this season is up. Our terrible start to the year has people angry and frustrated. We need to find some wins soon before this whole place goes feral. -
Until it is mathematically impossible, i will continue to have faith that we will make the finals. I can see us being slaughtered by the Swannies though, and at 0-4 practically everyone will have given up on us. The week after is when we will start to turn it around imo Im just gonna maintain the faith like i did last year when most in the footy world (including plenty on here) had written off our finals chances. If im wrong, im wrong. At least i wont have wasted my time and energy getting angry like i used to. Getting too old for that [censored]. While there is life there is hope. I still trust the team to turn it around.

Outs: Anyone we dont want injured. Ins: Early post-season surgery Positional experimentation Questionable rotations Forwards playing back Backs playing forward. Only joking, we already know that doesnt work in the long run. (Besides, it wouldnt happen until AFTER we lose the next 2 matches )

Target 70,000 lols Hang on, our percentage improved. WOO

Essendon has 7 goals from only 12 inside 50's this quarter. Someone needs to be held accountable. This is not an irregular stat.

Interesting how, when under intense media pressure we are the one team who can be relied on NOT to respond. Go Dees. fmd

The media has made certain that only one of the teams who take the field tonight will be thought of as cheats. It doesn't take a Mensa intellect to figure out what club will be wearing that label. *Hint, it wont be the peptides. I am almost certain we will lose tonight. Our selected team looks quite average on paper and we are still a week or 2 away from being AFL fit. Despite what some might say, our pre-season was not just interrupted/delayed by injuries and off season operations, but i think some of our guys got a bit big-headed by making the Prelim last year and have come crashing back to Earth. I still think we will win enough games to make the finals, but dont think it will start tonight.

At least we wont need to blame the umpires again.
-
I think the winners this round will be, .... who am i kidding. Coudnt possibly care less about other results, I only care about our team winning. Until then, it doesnt matter to me who wins or loses the other games. Win. Just win.
-
Just win Melbourne.

Judging by how straight it is, its fairly safe to say he was excited in this photo.

Why would i rant when i have predicted both of our losses so far. I expected us to be poor. P.S. lucky for us this narrow ground suits our game plan.
-
PERCENTAGE !!!! Oh, hang on..................................
-
Geelong to win relatively easily. We wont be playing our best footy for a few more rounds due to poor pre-season for so many. Not the end of the world if we lose, and i dont expect much from the Dees tonight.

Im talking about the wrist slashing BB. Im happy to join in, but only when we have proven round 1 to be the rule rather than the exception.

ITS.... ROUND..... ONE !

I have been an MFC supporter for as long as i can remember, and i am about to turn 51. If you consider the start of my post, it probably makes more sense... "I have never witnessed first-hand". First hand meaning "In person" No way was i wasting my time travelling to Melbourne to watch us play when Bailey was in charge. That would have been self-harm of the highest order. Today was very very bad after the first 15 mins.

Just back home from the game. Great start had us up and about in the first 15, but the finish to the quarter from Port left me a bit flat. We never looked likely after that. Along with the 2 JLT games, we were flattered by the scoreboard tbh. I dont need to add much to what has already been said so i will just include my main takeaways. First the bad. *Captain #1 = Possibly the worst game ever by Jones. His efforts in the last qtr particularly, where cringeworthy. Monty-Pythonesque. He was rancid. The worst decision making i have ever seen by him. The upside is that he can only get better. *Captain #2 = not as bad, but only because he didn't get as many opportunities to stink it up. Miles off the pace and clearly not ready for the big time. *Trac = Looked fat and slow. No gilding the Lilley here, he just wasnt very good. *Maxy = Soundly beaten by constant body smashing from his opponents. We might not have a choice but to play Preuss if other teams try the same tactics. Gawn will be cooked before mid season without some physical backup. *Oscar = Lucky that Frost was even worse than him, and that Lever isnt also ready to return next week. May can only replace one and that will be Frost. (God he was rank) I have never witnessed first-hand a more face-palmy amount of poor decision making by an MFC team. It was just unfathomable how dumb we were. The Good. *Weids mark. *Melksham was pretty good. *Wagner was also not our worst, and had a real crack. *Sparrow surprised me. I expected nothing and got a bit more than that. Not a bad debut other than a few panic disposals. I expected a slow start to the season, but if we play like that next week Geelong will bone us by 10 goals. Lucky its round one and we have plenty of time to find our groove. May cant come into the team fast enough. Bye Frosty the Blowman.

18 frees to 8 our way. Once the eveners start getting paid we might find ourselves in some trouble. Our guys look very tired already and they are fresh. Not great after the first 15 mins. Time to lift boys

Dees shop was doing a roaring trade this morning, helped by my sister and I both buying some merchandise. Ground looks a treat too. I’m pumped. Go DEES ?

Let me be the first to say it in 2019..... Relax, we've got this.
