Match Preview and Team Selection - Elimination Final
JKH seriously unlucky, but that is great news for the club. Go back only 2 or 3 months ago and he was a certain delist. Now he not only deserves a contract for next year, but many of us would not have been disappointed to have him in the team for tomorrow. Keep your head up Jay, you are far from finished matey. Respect.

Opposition Watch: Elimination Final
Its an honest assessment of how HE felt, and a guess at how he reckons our boys feel. Absolutely nothing wrong with what he said TBH. Only problem is that it will be the Cats who are [censored] themselves about facing us on Friday. They know we can beat them, and we know we can beat them. Cant wait for Friday.

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
At the very least, i like the sound of a " Peter Jackson Boardroom" or something like that. If it gets up he deserves a permanent mention somewhere in the building.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
If he nominates us we have more leverage in the trade. Recon a third rounder for someone who didnt play at all this year would be enough.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
Draft for mids, trade for talls, although in this case if he is likely to be delisted then its just a list spot and some salary cap. We are in desperate need of backup for Max. This seems like a smart move if we are indeed looking at Preuss. Not the worst going around and still has some development left in him. (only 23 i think) Yes from me. Edit: i see he is contracted until 2020 so we would need to trade. Still he shouldnt cost more than a 3rd rounder at worst.

Bernie Vince Retires
Well loved by everyone who knows him, and with good reason. We owe him big time for coming to us when we were such a joke of a team. Plenty of others said no. All the best Bernie. You deserve to have a great retirement bloke. The extra salary cap room might also be helpful this trade period........

Farewell Jesse Hogan
100% it would be enough, especially considering how strong this draft is reported to be. Hogan doesnt want to be traded so it wont happen. (Either way we cant lose. If we dont want to rely on the draft, those two picks are huge currency for an on-trade . We are in the window)

Surgein. *Sic Both dumber than a sock full of snails.- If Clarry CHOO CHOO DOESNT make AA I will..
.... remind myself that the AA selectors will, whenever there is a toss-up between several players for the same position, reward the "big" club with selection. Oliver is so far ahead of the competition it doesnt matter.- Spare Member Barcode
Get one yet? I am working Friday PM shift so i wont be going.- Billy Hartung
We have finally progressed to a point where, as a club, we no longer have to waste a single second of our time considering using a spot on our list for players like this. Hallelujah.- Jimmy Toumpas
Hope so for his sake. Nobody would deserve it more.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Disagree. Respectfully. I think he has the talent to kick much more than 50 in a season. He has the talent to be a 70+ per year forward, but only if he rids himself of the 2 terrible habits i mentioned earlier. He wont do the first until he has done the second. If the MFC is as professional as i think it has become, more than one person inside the club would have told him that already. He is a deadset gun, who has been selling himself short.- Farewell Jesse Hogan
Hogans value is stagnant, not improving. It is very high, but should be higher based on his huge talent. IF, and only if, it was him who wanted to leave, of course you would trade him. I would want 2 high picks, or a very good player and a high pick, but I would still trade. If Danger is tradeable, anyone is tradeable. Hogan is a great player, but he has some bloody awful habits he needs to get rid of to get the best out of himself. The first is his staging/complaining. Jesse could be much more influential in games if he stopped wasting time staging and complaining to the umps. Wayne Carey is the best example of how umpires are influenced by a players behavior. He was famous for not just being a brilliant player (and he was) but also constantly whining to the umps or being outright abusive to them when a decision didn't go his way. Hogan doesn't abuse, but he does complain all the time if he doesn't get paid frees. No umpire has ever changed their mind because a player complained. You might think this isn't relevant, but Carey is only 53rd on the all-time list of Brownlow votes, and will probably drop another 2 places this year. (Fyfe and Cotchin should both pass him) I would argue that the umps didn't look favorably on him because of the way he behaved towards them. Hogan MUST get this part of his game sorted or he will never reach his (huge) potential. The other thing he needs to improve is his second efforts. Cant remember the game, but he was involved in one goal late in the season when he contested a mark, and then chased down the player who picked up the spillage with a great tackle, which resulted in a goal to Garlett or some other small forward (Im sure someone will remember the actual game and fill in the blanks. Jesse ended up pointing towards the goal while his teammate kicked the goal) I remember the play specifically because it was so RARE to see a second effort from Jesse. He smashed that contest, and it was brilliant to see. Shame is that it happens so infrequently. Clean up those 2 things and he could easily be a 70 goal a year forward. Until then, he is not untradeable for the right price.- Post Match Discussion - Round 23
