Are you dead set? Bruce kicking the MFC while it is down?? In what way? He asked for a deal... MFC said no we we'll give you this deal... he said ok no thanks I have another deal that will give me what i feel is longer to earn $$, I will take it. How in goodness name is that kicking the MFC while down?? FFS what the hell does Bruce leaving for a better deal in his mind have to do with the MFC getting flogged by one of the biggest margings ever??? And as to McLean I thought he was given the word he was not a deadset for a spot.. he shopped himself around and found a willing taker... again what know?

Pies have some handy in's (without knowing the damage from last night) over the next few weeks. I wouldn't write them off just yet: Nick Maxwell Leon Davis Heath Shaw Daisy Thomas

Not to many premiership let alone dual premiership coaches would be "overrated". Bomber started at Cats in 2000, finals that season then missed finals 3 years in a row. Finals in 04, 05. Missed finals in 06 and had the "review".07 flag, 2nd in 08 and flag in 09... Looks pretty good comapred to ANYTHING we have had in the last 60+ seasons.... As an aside: Scarlett drafted in 97. Wojcinski in 98. 99 was insane for them (in order): Corey, Spriggs, Bray, Foster, Chapman, Ling, Enright. Barry Stoneham retired at the end of 2000... Mooney came to the club in 2000 from North. Josh Hunt and Max Rooke drafted in 2000. 2001 was another monster draft for them (in order): Bartel, James Kelly, Charlie Gardner, Steve Johnson, Garry Ablett (FS), Henry Playfair .... Thanks to Footy wire for the details too.

ENERGY WATCH = $6 Million sponsorship
Cards13 replied to Chicken Deelicious's topic in Melbourne Demons
There was an article in the Daily Telegraph a number of months ago going into Energy Watch as all of the calls by consumers were being directed to AGL even if another Retailer had better prices. Polis is quoted saying they are not a comparison site, they are a broker. "Energy Watch founder, Ben Polis is unapologetic. "Yes we have preferred suppliers and we are not secret about that and, yes, we are only offering AGL in NSW at the moment because they are the only retailer out there trying to acquire customers," he said." Energy Watch in NSW But taking there money is ok by me... -
Aaron Davey, our current vice-captain, plays his 150th game for the Melbourne Football Club this weekend. Congratulations Aaron on some sprakling football, plenty of excitement and a great bridge for indigenous lads like Wonna and LJ. Lets hope we some flashes of the flash this weekend with you running back into some form and fitness getting ready for a big 2012!

Sorry mate don't see the comparison. Have a look at Hall compared to the other bloke... the other bloke is fat as a house compared to Hall. Hall keeps himself supremely fit even with an ankle thatis forcing him to retire. Hall also fits into the team dynamic... Do we all forget the brain fades, the complete laziness and single focus this guy has on himself in everything he does in life let alone on the football field, how has this changed?
-
If we get frustrted at the likes of Morton's lopping around the field I can only imagine the implosion on here after watching this bloke's lackadaisical defensive pressure/chasing in our fwd 50. Or after seeing him leaning over the fence bored as a Bartram lazer's a pass 20 meters away from his pointed finger where he wants to lead too. Guh, the overall game has passed him by. He can still lead, take a mark and slot them from 55 but he doesn't fit into the full press in the game at present let alone our "window".

Whoever it is the MFC needs to be able to afford to spend on assitant coaches along with the head coach.
-
Soft as butter, show that kind of fight when the game is on Melbourne not after the siren!
-
F$%$@@@K! Stupid STUPID defensive players. Blind turning and firing off handballs in tight in the opponent's fwd 50 doesn't work!!
-
They are on the field..... Davey has been in very little. Morts was putting in early but couple of ugly things, dribble kick and not putting his head over it. 2 goals to Dee's back to 36 points down.
-
Howe doesn't belong? Because he is better than the MFC?
-
Seeing was a couple of the guys out at pubs last Sat night was a bit of an eye opener. Go Howie!
-
We are so weak in a defensive contest. As has been said so many times our older players are just so far off the pace. Davey, Dunn in particular from a defensive contest perspective, so hard to watch.
-
Our skills are deplorable, and defensive pressure rubbish and as for protecting team mates with the ball.. don't bother. The cue is in the rack already by the Melbourne players and has been for 3 weeks. We will barely beat Port playing like this. Morton..... wow is really battling early.
-
GGggguuhhh! I was fuming when I read that rubbish! Thems the breaks when you have no leadership by your captain and leadership group.
-
Mate he was not on his own, few other dropped with him. Love LJ but he has been in fits and spurts this season RB. I know you have the inside word and maybe he has been coached a certain way but from the cheap seats he looks like he needs to give a little bit more. He has not been flying for marks, lots of average looking chases etc. Can't wait for him to have a full preseason coming up with no injury concerns and see him absolutely destroy the comp.
-
Hahahha just beat me too it! Was looking through all coaches and wow did Bombers name jump out at me, would he take on full time coach role again or so soon?
-
Thought'd I'd have a run through the assistant coaches of all clubs, some interesting names stood out (note I only highlighted coaches who had experience in the AFL coaching system thus some coaches not in list): Would Mark Thomson be interested in another full time coaching role? If we want the best.... What happened to Gary O'Donnell being "the next senior coach"? He was once the Sanderson, Hinkley, Burns of the assistant coaching world at one stage. Summa, Scotty Burns, Leon Cameron, Gavin Brown, Leppa, Adrian Fletcher, Barry Mitchell etc etc. Some names that have been bandied around and would love to hear what people think if they have any further knowledge, not just hear say maybe some actual knowledge of these assistants. Hawthorn – Leon Cameron Carlton – Alan Richardson, John Barker, Gavin Brown Saints- Peter Berbatov, Robert Harvey, Adam Kingsley Richmond – Justin Leppitsch, Wayne Campbell Collingwood – Mark Neeld, Scott Watters, Matthew Lappin West Coast – Peter Sumich, Scott Burns Lions – Gary O’Donnell, Jade Rawlings, Adrian Fletcher Freo – Barry Mitchell, Michael Prior MFC – None of note who want the job Geelong – Brenton Sanderson, Blake Caracella, Nigel Lappin Gold Coast – Ken Hinkley Essendon – Mark Thompson, Brendan McCartney, Sean Wellman Sydney – Leigh Tudor, John Blakey, Mark Stone Port – Gary Hocking, Dean Laidley, Jason Cripps North – Darren Crocker, Shane Watson, Brett Allison Bulldogs – Peter Dean, Brett Montongery, Paul Williams Adelaide – Ben Hart, Matthew Clarke, Scott Camporale GWS – Mark Williams

I wonder how Leading Teams is assisting the players lead....

Brett Clothier obliged to investigate Melbourne's 'tanking'
Cards13 replied to Eth's topic in Melbourne Demons
The likes of Lyon, Brayshaw etc actually call him Purple or The Warrior when he is on the radio, they have no respect for him at all. I have no idea how he could work in that environment and be able to look himself in the small mirror every day. -
I'd be ill if I was a coach at MFC after the weekend too...

Mate the Slug in Fulham looks like it has closed, otherwise the Temple Walkabout is a joint I liked watching a game at as it had light unlike most London pubs. Phone ahead to see if they are playing the game as sometimes even if advetised they might not show it although there are plenty of Hawks supporters around. Temple Walkie Sheperds Bush Walkie as well. Otherwise look up Aussie Rules clubs based in London and see where they head too or ask them.

Especially without the majority of his support staff who have resigned at the Woods already

Isn't that how Bails has basically been trying to get for almost all of our players? Besides the Jamars/deep defenders/deep fwds. Ie he sees the future of the game as being most players have to have the ability to rotate through virtually every position to be a successful side/player?
