Any news the real?
-
I would have thought there would have been more fan fare on the move. Maybe an article or two on it since it has been highlighted some many rimes over the years as one of our major downfalls.

Lyon's coaching record is 2nd to none how could he not be a success.....

Any news Real De??? I'm getting all Dees mates keen to come along to Dons game and even trying to get non Dees fans to come along. Have you heard anything from the club on this? Is it still set for Dons game?? Cards

I hate baring ones feelings/souls to a person they do not personally know but in this instance I think Mr Stynes has had an indirect, some cases direct, impact on our lives in such a positive way. Here is hoping Mr Stynes you are one of the fortunate, amazing people who beat this disease. That you are able to go on and live a wonderful life with your family.

I'll buy a couple of rolls of crepe paper for this... Seriously Haydo that is a great idea!!! It is a brilliant sight when done well. They have had something similar for previous grand finals where they drag the banner from the back of the crowd in the lower tier. Health and safety... ppfftt it's fabric! Cam S I'm sure you can sort this out as a mark of respect to one of the greatest ever Demons on the field and off it.

Age Article ''As long as we do the things we've been trying to do, which is move the ball as quick as we can, and certainly put some pressure around the football, not only on the guy who has the football, but the secondary receiver. That's what we've been really effective at when we've played well. ''So against whoever, it doesn't matter, our process has still got to be the same, we've got to get in the game and do the things we've been practising and doing well longer and better than our opposition. And we give ourselves a chance.''

Gee wizz I am irritated now. I hope the review panel have some common sense on it and not get mired down by the wording of the 'charge' especially as Hille has escaped sanction for worse actions.
-
Seeing this makes me question why I bother with AFL to be honest. My love for the Dees is the only reason I still watch footy. I used to watch 3 or 4 games a weekend now I only watch Melbourne games. And how the f ing hell can Hille get of 3 charges this season while Beamer gets done for this is mind boggling!!! It makes me wonder if some day someone is going to quit AFL during there prime because they have had enough of the AFL regime and it's inconsistancies. I would love to see it but the money is too good in footy.

I remember how excited I was when we picked up 'Chis'. I loved the way he played, that all out run, the flair.. He was a man a ahead of his time. But sadly for 'Chis' that run at all costs flair turned into headless chook running around turn over footy. I remember how angry my old man would get with him..... aaahhh good times. Hopefully his experience can help other people in the future.

Was it only me or did Miller look like he has leaned up quite a bit. He has been muscled up for a long while but I really thought he looked like he has leaned that muscle down. Maybe this is helping him being able to get a few steps on defenders when he seemed to struggle getting that seperation in the past. His goal kicking was spot on last night here is hoping he can continue the form.

i'm a little concerned about Rick P heading back home...

Demon Heartland membership I feel needs to be expanded and used to help us develop more supporters. If we can tap into new migrants and certain communities where kids are 1st generation "Aussies", there parents might not be AFL fans but kids growing up going to school trying to be like there mates and would look to support an AFL team. If we can expand the Heartland memberships and "give" them away to demographics like these we can potentially increase our supporter base faster than our current developments in the Casey area. They were my thoughts when I 1st raised this and it morphed into the Heartland. I still don't think it goes far enough but then again I don't know who they distribute the Heartland memberships too... I think it is an area we can really get a step ahead of other clubs on.

Agree with both of you, whilst I am happy to see the ugly side of the game sent to the history books (late high tackles, swinging arms aimed at players heads etc etc) it has become a santisied, unfulfilling thing to watch. Maybe I'm getting old but I love to see hard contested footy rewarded rather than penalised because the umpires think it "might" have been to hard a contest or "might" have been high. I would struggle to watch footy if it wasn't for our proud on the rise club too guys.
-
I'm sure I recall a few years ago the umpires changed attire at half time of a game as it clashed with one team... Why would they have not done that last night?

So keen to watch the replay to see how he went. Sounded like he was clearly the best fwd on the ground.
