  1. Sue how did you get "I don't support", I was there watching just like most weeks and thought he would get suspended. I also thought he tried to do it again and unfortunately got landed on and looked in a world of trouble knocked out. I was NOT saying “ooohhh geeess look he is doing it again ohhh I hope he gets knocked out for being a naughty boy:... ridiculous.
  2. Slammed his head into the astro turf when on 1st look they were both out of bounds, Jackson stayed down and was very groggy afterwards. Was always going to get 2 weeks (now 1 for guilty plea) based on Trenners outcome. Disappointing to lose him (even if he was fit) but I think fair as he did sling Jackson when he didn't need to, he tried the same later and ended up the knocked out one.
  3. As previously noted sitting high in the stands it was so clear to see this happening, there is a clear plan of pressuring the ball carrier and either causing a sloppy disposal or holding the ball up in a tackle but as you stated we have too many players attaching the ball carrier. Again a seemingly MFC trait for years of not talking enough as there were a number of times where two players would go at a ball carrier, both seeing each other go then both stopping as they saw each other. Plan is in place, execution is a work in progress.
  4. I was in the top deck of the same stand and agree. Watching from that "bird's eye" you can see where we fall down in these areas. Our lack of work rate I think is the most damning. Mitch Clarke for mine had the highest by a long way for our forwards but one thing I really noticed was the turn overs going into our forward line where a player is running towards goal, away from the ball carrier. The ball carrier either couldn't kick it far enough to the player leading away from him or was waiting for the forward to lead back at him. I noticed this on 3-4 occassions where we turned it over when it should have been a shot of goal. Frustation all over the shop but we are coming from a long way back hopefully with some "class" like Jurrah, Col and Beamer we can see some further improvements. Col has probably the longest boot in our club on the run and will add a little bit extra for us I think. Will it be enough... probably not but something.
  5. Anyone think Grimes will get weeks for the sling tackle on Jackson? 2 weeks based on Trenners.
  6. Casey played yet? Bit hard to offer ideas on who comes in the side, who goes out might be a touch easier.
  7. A paper trail so many people jumped into, even some of Aust most "reputable Retailers".....
  8. This is only a very recent turn around, the Reds were a shambles for years on field and off field in fact I think the ARU controls the QRU's finances and has for the last 2-3 years. The success on field and off field has only been in the last couple of years but it would be great to have the kind of turn around they have had, funnily it seems to equate to on field success. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/rugby-union/follow-the-reds-example-says-aru-chief-john-oneill/story-e6frg7o6-1226264124510 "Over the past two years the Reds came from provincial also-rans to Super Rugby champions, capitalising off the field with improved crowds and sponsorship. O'Neill said yesterday it was critical for the Brumbies, Melbourne Rebels, NSW Waratahs and Western Force to also play entertaining and winning rugby.
  9. Drake must be stoked!
  10. EW does not have "Cheaper" listed on the website... ACCC suit pending.
  11. Large organisations are made up of people with thoughts and feelings, some more thoughtful than others, some more concerned about the bottom line. How many companies have dropped sponsoring clubs becuase skeletons of players?
  12. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/grimes-backs-neeld-over-rumour-20120403-1wa4z.html Not sure if this has been posted as yet.
  13. Not trying to be silly but Trenners, Moloney, Jones and Bate doing repeat sprints at "pace".... repeapt sprints at similar pace doesn't mean at "pace" if you compare against the top midfields from my point of view. I think we are a touch slow at present. PS wow Hawks Pies game is a fair show skill and class. We are a number of seasons of that pace.
  14. I should have said "duty of care not to collect the head". My opinion is not too sure about for worse Forky. I have been a proponent of the "it's now too soft" talk but after the details of our own Daniel Bell, Sidney Crosby (NHL), Dave Duerson (NFL) and many more I am now tending to agree with the stance on head high contact. While I still think the "bump" should still be part of our game, it is something that sets it apart from most others; deliberate head high contact needs to be taken out of it but this is heading off topic.
  15. Looked like he collected the head, no longer allowed. Players now have a duty of care to not collect other players for better or worse.
  16. Cameron will be a gun, he is still just a kid but looks really composed.
  17. God what a trip that would be! Hopefully a packed out Crock park, the Dee's, celebrating Jimmy..... (checks bank account, family calendar.... just might be able to swing it!)
  18. While he looked ok in a side that had the collective age of a high school footy team can he last a full season at that pace with little support. Even Cornes had his moment and he looked slow as a wet week on a number of occasions, can Cornes last a full season, doubtful. Junior will at least have a few weeks rest after last night to recover. In saying that it is disappointing seeing Junior in other colours.
  19. Might be an idea for the Dee's to always have that seat vacant just for Jimmy amongst the fan's where he used to sit?
  20. Bit of Louis CK.
  21. Trite to say the least but all my thoughts and positive energy are with you Jim and family.
  22. Great post! Well done to James and the medical/fitness staff. Hopefully we can see the sames progression on the field for him this season.
  23. Again to little facts to judge Oli but the alleged drinking is not something Neeld believes is part of an elite culture when representing MFC and precedence has been set with Col.
  24. But Jaded it is not just getting him away from it for now, the issue has been going on for a couple of years and is escalating not subsiding (potentially escalating again if tribal justice is to be satified again after this incident). In one of the articles it mentiones Liam has spent "less" time at home since this all started up BUT it is still his home, his family, his everything. The toxic situation and his home will still be there even if he is in Melbourne. I have no answers but the whole situation needs to be settled before the entire community can get out of the toxic situation, it is greater than Liam and needs a resolution that from reports seems impossible outside of the tribal law. As others have said it is such a horrible situation for one and all to find themselves in. Kudos the MFC, Rudeboy and I'm sure many many many others for supporting Liam and hopefully the entire communtiy does not get lost with our thoughts on Liam.
