NON-MFC: Rd 06 2023
The optimist in me says that one of them will lose, and that makes me happy. The pessimist in me says that one of them will win, and that makes me unhappy. Best result, then, is a draw I suppose with both teams and their supporters disappointed.

Underground handballs
The only bad thing about them is the stupid name they've been given by the commentators. I don't think the bouncing handballs actually go under the ground.

AFL Pushing for Players to be Traded Against Their Will
Call it an ambit claim or call it just plain posturing. It's not going to happen.

Melbourne 'Exports'
I believe that @old dee was guttered when he left Melbourne.

I would imagine the reason metres gained is so low is that most of his possessions were either a kick or a handball backwards or across the ground or a handball to a teammate running past. I'm guessing "metres gained" is only counted when the disposal sends the ball forwards (towards goal) or the player is running forwards with the footy.

Hewett's not the worst in that category, but he's right up (down?) there. FEWEST METRES GAINED BY PLAYERS WITH MORE THAN 25 DISPOSALS* Jaeger O’Meara - 25 disposals for -1m gained (Rd 23, 2017) Jack Macrae - 30 disposals for 1m gained (Rd 2, 2016) Cameron Guthrie - 33 disposals for 21m gained (Rd 22, 2014) Daniel Cross - 28 disposals for 22m gained (Rd 1, 2012) Matt Crouch - 25 disposals for 29m gained (Rd 5, 2016) George Hewett - 29 disposals for 30m gained (Rd 6, 2023)^

The metric system is "woke" now?
-
NON-MFC: Rd 06 2023
I think the only fair way to do it is to have every team play each other once and alternate the venue from year to year. However, I doubt the AFL would adopt this fair system as money is the key motivator. Forget integrity!

Apples and oranges. EPL consists of 20 teams and every team plays every other team twice (at home and away) over the course of a 38 game season.

I'm particularly interested to know if Oliver is out there.

Melbourne 'Exports'
Pikey actually played for four clubs - us, Fitzroy (swapped for Martin Seecamp), North and Brisbane. Just on Nathan Bassett - very good player, but didn't play a senior game with us due to injuries.

CASEY: Rd 05 vs Richmond
Of interest (to me, anyway): - Ben Brown named so fit to play, but not selected in the Melbourne team - Kyah Farris-White selected to play against men after running around in the under 18 comp. - Woey back but no sign of Turner (K.) or Smith (J.) - Jimmy Munro still injured

Ben Hart was only 17 when he debuted with Adelaide, so I don't reckon he could have been on our list before that.

Are you sure about that, @Rod Grinter Riot Squad? Not getting him mixed up with Nathan Bassett?

Melbourne 'Exports'
Neither of these played for another VFL team after leaving Melbourne, which I understood to be the qualifier for @Monbon's team.
