Demonstone's King's Birthday Kranium Busting Kinda Bewildering Kafkaesque Braintwister
Could we please have a drum roll followed by an emphatic "boom" and a "tish". All the players in this team had a father who also played VFL/AFL. The twist is that none of the fathers played for Melbourne. My sneaky "one day in September" clue was a reference to Fathers' Day. Other little hints scattered around include "Dad joke", "farther" and "sun". Thank you to all participants. I may post another of these during the long break post KB if there is enough interest.

Nope, nothing to do with any member of the Irwin family.

Ever seen a cat chasing and trying to catch a red dot directed from a laser pointer?

@spirit of norm smith has done enough to join the list of winners and has just been accompanied to the solvers' club by @Roger Mellie. Well done to both. I'll post the reveal at about 9.30 this morning.- Demonstone's King's Birthday Kranium Busting Kinda Bewildering Kafkaesque Braintwister
Let's wait until the sun comes up tomorrow @Timothy Reddan-A'Blew! I'll see you all then. In the meantime, please welcome @Graeme Yeats' Mullet to the winners' circle.- Demonstone's King's Birthday Kranium Busting Kinda Bewildering Kafkaesque Braintwister
You did done good and answered correctly. That makes six posters who have worked it out. I'll leave the teaser up overnight for any latecomers.- Demonstone's King's Birthday Kranium Busting Kinda Bewildering Kafkaesque Braintwister
Not if you tacked it onto a previous discussion, @Timothy Reddan-A'Blew. I delete old PMs as a matter of course. Send it through in a new message.- Demonstone's King's Birthday Kranium Busting Kinda Bewildering Kafkaesque Braintwister
Congratulations to @tilly18, @Ethan Tremblay and @Neil Crompton for solving the mystery. Check your PMs @tilly18 for an explanation of the clue!- PREGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

Sorry about that misleading clue. It wasn't a reference to Grand Final Day at all. Just a little Dad joke you might say.- TRAINING: Tuesday 6th June, 2023.
I've been reliably informed that exposure to the sun isn't good for a blister.- Demonstone's King's Birthday Kranium Busting Kinda Bewildering Kafkaesque Braintwister
Time for a clue? Why not. The answer is associated with that one day in September.- MBJMcV!
He had to give that up as it was too expensive to keep replacing all those drowned ponies. PS. He should go well in the wet.- Demonstone's King's Birthday Kranium Busting Kinda Bewildering Kafkaesque Braintwister
@layzie has burst out of the blocks and sprinted down the straight to breast the tape in first spot. @La Dee-vina Comedia was hot on his heels but will have to settle for runner-up in this contest.- Demonstone's King's Birthday Kranium Busting Kinda Bewildering Kafkaesque Braintwister
We're facing a long wait until our next game. Let's kill some time before we kill the Pies. This team of past and present Demon players goes right back to the 1950s. Some are better known than others. In a return to traditional values, there is just a 19th and 20th man and none of this new-fangled interchange and substitute nonsense. What common factor unites all these players? Answers in a PM only please! =========================================================== B: Glenn Boland John Beckwith Ken Roberts H/B: Jake Bowey Steven Icke Cameron Hunter C: Lloyd Burgmann Chris Connolly Lachie Hunter H/F: Kyle Dunkley Brad Miller Angus Brayshaw F: Charlie Spargo Garry Lyon Xavier Tanner R: Shane Grambeau Stewart Gull Paul Goss 19th: Ken Rollason 20th: John Reid- Welcome to Demonland Kynan Brown

Regardless of who wins out of GWS and Richmond today, Carlton will finish the round in 14th place. If that's not the cellar, it's knocking on the cellar door.- CASEY: Rd 11 vs Southport
I'd have to disagree on that one, @Jaded No More. He had plenty of space, the goals were wide open, the angle was favourable for his left foot and the chances of kicking it were high IMO. Fritta did exactly what he is paid to do.- PREGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
