I'd be extremely happy if we were able to secure Tom Papley, but he's not the Messiah (nor a naughty boy!) and not first round material, as others have already stated.

Another poster described Papley as a "poor man's Brent Harvey". If you're a "poor man's" anybody, by definition you're not that great. Second round pick at best IMO.

Pick 3 for Papley? Not in a million years mate, he's not worth anywhere near that.

Papley's not that special! I think people are vastly over rating him.

There comes a certain time when you know you're getting on a bit and that time is when you realise that there are no AFL players older than yourself and that your chances of being drafted have gone forever.

Patton may not be such a bargain after three knee recos. I'd have been reluctant to trade for him. Imagine this forum if we did draft him and he did his knee again?

To judge a player's worth on one game in isolation is simplistic thinking IMO. No doubt his GF was a stinker all the same.

Can't see that they would have the picks to satisfy us, which could mean a player or two coming our way. Maybe there's some truth in the Tom Hawkins "rumour", but can't say I'm keen on a bloke turning 32 next year.
