  1. ............ because nothing ever changes for its supporters.
  2. Completely outplayed, and dare I say it, out-coached. I'm completely shattered.
  3. I'm feeling (first-half) broken! We need 22 contributors. Is that too much to ask?
  4. I hope the result will be the perfect remedy 'forever' ........... and that the rest of us won't be putting out a call for painkillers.
  5. A win, and preferably a big one, will see us secure for another week. A loss, and it will be time to lock up the cutlery drawer. Dees by a mile
  6. I noticed that Pedo Bear lined up for Casey this afternoon, so it's probably reasonable to assume that Tom Mac got through his fitness test this morning, and will play against the Saints tomorrow. Edit: unless they go with only two talls and Charlie Spargo .
  7. I'm just as concerned about the week after Darwin vs Bulldogs.
  8. My reading: Pert was the 'fall guy' at Collingwood; Caro is a sniper, and a headline grabber.
  9. I really like the bit of 'tinkering' that sees Harry Petty making his debut. My gut tells me that he will be a very able replacement for Jake, and a long term mainstay of our backline.
  10. Hard to go past 'Froggy' Crompton's match winning goal in 1964: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Iy6A3uDEYs
  11. Perfect selection and timing, I reckon. I always feel that there's something special about a youngster making his debut for the MFC. The reports from Casey watchers, and the article posted above by Bates Mate only increase my excitement. I hope he has a rippa game and quickly becomes a regular.
  12. Good on him. He has earned a bit of luck!
  13. I understand exactly where you are coming from LH, but TMac. has been cleared by a specialist, and if he gets through a training run on Saturday morning, I want him to play. We need to keep working on our forward half synergy and Tom is the linchpin in that part of the ground. Further, every part of a % point that we can muster at this point might be critical as the season rolls on.
  14. Thoroughly enjoyable guys. Great to reminisce with Flash, and to hear about his ongoing love and respect for the Dees and his four prospective father sons. He seems like an absolute gentleman.
  15. Hibberd isn't too bad!
  16. 6. Jetta 5. Viney 4. Brayshaw 3. Oliver 2. Gawn 1. Melksham
  17. Once upon a time season , there was a Friday night fixture featuring the Melbourne Football Club. How unusual! IMO both forward lines look to match up pretty well against their opposition, which means the game will most likely be won / lost around the stoppages and contests and through sheer work-rate. We were poor in all of these areas against the Pies, and major improvements will be needed tonight if we are to challenge Port and take the proverbial 8 points that the media are talking about. It will be tough, but I think we can win narrowly, if we bring the right attitude and team disciplines from the first bounce, and sustain them throughout the game. Another chance to firm up a spot in the top half of the eight is begging. Restoration of personal and team pride should be screaming motivation for everyone who takes the field in red and blue tonight. Let's prove once and for all to the football community that we are the real deal, and prove to the AFL that we are worthy of Friday night games. ................ and Fairy Tales can come true. Last night's result proves that!
  18. I reckon (hope?) their defence will have more trouble blanketing our forwards than we will blanketing theirs, but yes, this game will be won and lost tn the middle and around the contests. Tyson is an excellent inclusion in that regard.
  19. I'm comfortable with the changes because I trust our Match Committee to make the right calls, but I hope we don't regret being relatively short in the back half (compared to PA who have some decent talls to play through there). Having said that, their small / medium forwards are in excellent form and need to be covered, but I think we have a group who will match them well..
  20. Excellent and professional all around. Just what was needed!
  21. I once heard from an old Scot, that it takes a "just a teardrop of water" to bring out the best in a good single malt. After all these years following our team OD, you've probably been shedding tears into your scotch, and thoroughly enjoying it, without even knowing quite why.
  22. This one will test our fibre. Heart says we win by a narrow margin. Head says we will lose by a considerable margin. Hearts are trumps!!
  23. Loved the show.
  24. I thought Goody was more up-beat than his 'standard' mid-week presser. I know I was a tad more positive after listening to him! Maybe I'm 'clutching at straws', maybe I just need a footy recharge after the bye. Heart saying Demons (obviously!!), head undecided at this stage.
