  1. A typically honest chat with Tom. Leaving no stone unturned to get back to his best, and if he can, it will make us a better side, no matter what position(s) he plays.
  2. It's a long way from home (in a couple of respects), but I'm almost starting to believe.
  3. Great choice! Just another reason to be a 'Demonlander'.
  4. For the first couple of seasons, the AFLW frustrated me, but that's all changed. I now respect and enjoy it for what it is, and look forward to it as an exciting prelude to the AFL season. A close game involving the Dees has me on the edge of the lounge, and after a win, I sing the song almost as loud as I do for the men.
  5. Great article, great memories. Thanks WJ
  6. Great work Stinga, thanks! Is it just me, or is there a hint of 'Demonland' excitement in the air?
  7. Sounds like the old 'possibles' vs 'probables' from the days of yore .... for those who go back that far.
  8. Fantastic to have another Demonlander making the effort to get to Casey to provide us with a Wednesday training report. Thanks George.
  9. Great report Kenty. Many thanks for your efforts. Anything to suggest whether Fraser Rodman will live up to the recent Demonland hype?
  10. Most grateful for the report, and the work you went to to get it LH. Thanks
  11. I hope the bold yellow stripe on the training balls does the trick in 2021!
  12. Ahh! A fire sale then?
  13. My problem is that I still remember the player numbers from the 1950s and 1960s like they were still playing, but I struggle with the current team. I mentioned this to Mrs Deeoldfart one day last season, and she comforted me by saying "that's quite understandable dear, the game is so much faster these days".
  14. I'll never forget Broady; I'll never forget his memorial game. I doubt that there was a dry Melbourne eye during the opening ceremony at the packed MCG. Melbourne could never have been beaten that night. Broady's spirit was always with us; I'll never forget the great work that our Club / players did to rebuild a school in the Phi Phi Islands in Broady's memory.
  15. ....... and a huge thank you to Andy, the Mods and everyone else involved in providing us Demon 'tragics' with far and away the best fan site in the AFL. You deserve a premiership for your efforts.
  16. Looks like a great 'package'. Watching him develop in Melbourne colors will be a treat.
  17. I agree D3, and we now have both fitness and development gurus to bring them along.
  18. I agree o_d , but I feel certain that Goodwin would have received that message loud and clear from within the four walls of the MFC. If not, the review did not go far enough!
  19. Robbie was simply the best and fairest of his era. No Charlie makes a mockery of the system.
  20. I love it. This kid could be a 'game changer', and we already have a couple of those!
  21. Salo had a good, consistent year. He is good one-on-one, reads the play well, and has elite disposal, but I keep waiting for him to take his game to the next level. I reckon he has it in him, but I'm just not sure it will happen. Seventh in the 'Bluey' was about right imo. 7/10 from me.
  22. I love the part of this interview with Adem where he talks about the need for 'cohesion' in our midfield group: https://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/836826/ep5-the-off-season-adem-yze?videoId=836826&modal=true&type=video&publishFrom=1605673170001
  23. Now that news turned a crap day into something much better for me! LJ will make huge strides in the next couple of years. Why would he commit to a long term deal now? Much better to defer for a couple of years when his real worth will be known, and he will get paid accordingly.
  24. Every punter has their share of 'busts'. We took a punt on a long-shot and it failed to deliver. Well done Dees for giving Harley another shot in a field where he had previously excelled! It might have been a 'masterstroke' for all parties. Tough times ahead for Harley and his family, I'd imagine. Hope he manages to fight off his inner 'demons'.
  25. Overcame horrible adversity and a significant form slump in 2019, to finish top 10 in the Bluey. An outstanding effort in the circumstances. Well done Hibbo!
