By any logical measure of ability, experience, game-plan, form or class, the Dees win this by 8+ goals. Then enter the unknown impact of the Buckley factor to complicate the equation. I’m sticking with the the tangibles over the intangibles, and predicting a comfortable win to the Dees, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a smidge concerned about the alternative. MFCSS is alive and well in the DOF household this morning.

I’m glad that I’m not the only Demonlander with moist eyes about this story. My love for, and pride in the red and blue will never falter, and this has nothing to do with ladder position.

Leadership! Leadership! Leadership! At the start of the year I had my doubts! I was wrong! We have it in spades. across all lines, and in the coaches box!

These are two evenly matched teams, and it should be a ripping contest, on neutral territory. Our confidence in our processes, structures and team mates should be sky high after last week's outstanding win, and if we can play the 'Melbourne' way for 100 minutes tonight, I have every confidence that we will consolidate our position on top of the ladder. Anything less than 100 minutes, and we might struggle. Dees by 2 or 3 goals.

No need for a barometer ........ they already know that we are going to ‘rain on their parade’.

It will take time to sort out our best forward half mix, but we will have it ‘nailed’ come September.

When the game was scheduled for Alice, we had arranged for a dozen family and friends to gather at our place (Canberra) to watch the game. That arrangement is still going ahead. Mrs DOF commented this morning, that there’s a chance there will be more spectators in our lounge room, than there will be at Giants Stadium.

Trent seems like a very well grounded and articulate young fella, as well as being a gifted, hard working, fast learning and courageous footballer. He was drafted at the perfect time be an important part of an exciting journey with the MFC.

I strongly agree D_J, and I'd add that some of Max's tapwork to our mids on the move was brilliant. Just as predictability is important with our kick-ins (as discussed above), unpredictability (to the opposition) is important around stoppages, so long as Max and the clearance players are 'on the same page'. While Max fumbled a bit around the ground vs the Dogs, I thought his ruck work was outstanding.

I thought along similar lines LH, and also wondered whether crowd noise vs the Crows may have blocked out some of Rick's calls from the backline.

Difficult in such a disciplined, even team performance. I settled on: 6. Oliver 5. Harmes 4. Gawn 3. Petracca 2. Lever 1. Brayshaw Unlucky: Rivers, May, TMac, Spargo, and ANB, among others.

I'm just 'over the moon' stoked. That win was for all of us!!!

Outstanding article ...... fantastic insights into the new ‘Melbourne Way’. If this attitude is permanently ingrained into the psyche of every player who pulls on a red an blue, and reflected in all decisions made within our Football Department, we are in a good place indeed. Go Dees!

Last weekend we played far and away our worst football for the year, had one of our key playmakers missing, and we were crucified by a couple of late umpiring blunders ............ and yet we still only lost by a point to a team that played ‘out of its skin’. If we return to playing ‘the Melbourne way’ with everybody playing their role, we can defy the odds and win this. Should be a ripping game. Dees by 10 points.

In - The real DEMONS! (fingers crossed). Bring in what we delivered against R'mond, and we win comfortably.
