  1. Good luck for a speedy and complete recovery Mitch.
  2. Standing up for his skipper (Grimes) who got unnecessarily belted. Great leadership Jonsey .... we need to see more of this sort of thing at Melbourne.
  3. I agree Maldonboy. From reports we have been doing it on the track for a while now, and it's great that we were able to get it together under match conditions (albeit with limited pressure for a fair portion of the game). I'm really looking forward to seeing if we bring it to the Gabba next Sunday. If we do, I reckon we will have taken an important step forward.
  4. .............. and they get to share some of Sheedy's humble pie.
  5. 6. Jones 5. McDonald 4. Watts 3. Dunn 2. Rivers 1. Clark
  6. Spot-on Nasher. We can build a future around guys like Clark (and Jones), but based on what we've seen so far in 2012, there are very few others. With a decent mid-field, and a solid crumbing forward to feed off the contests that Clark creates, I really think he can become a genuine star.
  7. Meetings that attain 100% buy-in can be pivotal eg. Geelong.
  8. Very tough for Barty and the Club. We can ill afford to lose one of the few I would describe as 'heart and soul' players.
  9. Should not be a priority, especially with Jack Viney joining us in 2013. We need skillful outside mids who will spread, run and carry.
  10. I agree Ben. From what I have seen of his kicking, it's not up to AFL standard, and we already have enough turnover kings of our own.
  11. Fantastic to see appropriate recognition for this great Dee .... a true champ in our Golden era.
  12. Ahh ..... the 'stolen' premiership, but oh so satisfying for that very reason.
  13. I guessing, but I reckon NM and GC would attest to that.
  14. Thanks DD DDC. These reports are always welcome by those who can't get along themselves. I'd be interested to know whether Garlo was working in the forward half.
  15. Well done Rush! We need your mature body, experience and strong work ethic around the place for a while yet. 2-3 years should be just about right to hand over the mantle of number one ruckman to the next generation.
  16. I agree with you Jarka, but a lot of people would have been saying similar things in '87 if this forum had existed back then.
  17. Great tribute. An honour well earned.
  18. Top shelf, but I reckon Brian Dixon, Hassa Mann and Bluey Adams would give them a run for their money.
  19. Great four quarter team effort. 6. Watts 5. Rivers 4. Garland 3. Jones 2. Grimes 1. Sellar
  20. 6. Watts 5. Blease 4. Jones 3. * 2. * 1. * * I would have given 3, 2 and 1 if somebody else had worked hard, or put their head over the ball a couple of times. Sadly, no takers!
  21. I thought we had hit rock-bottom a week ago, but no, this team is taking us to previously unknown depths. At least last week we played 20 minutes of solid footy, but this week I struggled to find one passage of play which might indicate some hope for the future. I'm absolutely gutted, and ashamed of my team tonight!
  22. Thanks Jack. I share your confidence, but unfortunately, not your way with words. This one is an absolute gem "The blokes we've picked and those we haven't dropped ...............".
  23. I agree rpfc, and with it, increased confidence that it's all part of a long term plan that will leave us in good shape to ultimately be successful.
