  1. Definitely a hybrid of all 5 stages (depending on the hour of the day, and when I last read Demonland) ...... and like many hybrid varieties, I'm effectively sterile / barren / neutered, or at least that's how I feel about my team more often than not. But amidst all the gloom, I will always see a glimmer of light.
  2. I agree Redleg, and I reckon this is borne out by Beamers comments at the B&F function shortly after Brock left our Club for Carlton.
  3. 6. Jones: Where would we be without him? (Please don't respond) 5. McDonald: He will be good! 4. Green: Tinges of 'greener' pastures a few years ago 3. Joel Mac: Provided a bit of grunt, as usual 2. Frawley: Sound job against the odds 1. Sylvia: Decent in patches, but too few of them
  4. Thanks jnr. A very good article about a tragedy called Yuendumu.
  5. 'In Dreams' another one by the Big O.
  6. 'It's a Long Way to the Top' (AC/DC) seems to have a ring of truth about it, and 'Crying' by the late and great Roy Orbison used to be relevant, but I've long since given up crying after a loss. When I'm at a game, I often feel like telling feral oppsition supporters to 'Shaddap You Face' (Joe Dolce). Edit: typo
  7. I know I'm naive in these matters, but this decision seems staggering to me, based on what's been reported over the last few days.
  8. The key point imo is that, while Zeibell was a fraction late, he had eyes only for the ball, and by the time he realised he would be second to the contest, it was impossible for him to pull out. Very rough justice to find him guilty, and an unreasonably harsh penalty imo ....... akin to the Trengove incident / penalty in the sense that it's the AFL trying to make a statement. Unfortunately, the cynic in me says that if Zeibell and Trengove were big name players at a Collingwood, Carlton etc, the outcomes may have been quite different.
  9. Cam was in the top half dozen Melbourne players for a long time, and his record is a proud one. I didn't like the way he left the Club, but sadly, loyalty (both ways) is fast disappearing from our game.
  10. Watching the TV replay, I thought the MRP might have a look at Bail's forearm to the head of a Freo player (uncertain who) while the ball was oob. Didn't look to be very forceful, but it attracted the attention of a few Freo players. Did anyone else notice it?
  11. Terribly tough on Jamie. The remainder of the season was huge in the context of his place on our list, and now he has to spend it on the sidelines. Have a speedy and complete recovery Jamie.
  12. 6. Martin - Showed again that he can lift a notch when given the number one ruck responsibilities. Also showed a bit up forward before Jamar went off. A definite 'keeper' 5. McDonald - Carried on from where he left off before his lung injury. If he continues to develop the way he is going, he could be amongst the best CHBs in the competition in a couple of years. 4. Jones - From where I was watching (in my lounge chair 600+ kms away) it looked like he was heavily tagged. Was still a strong performance, and the prospect of him having a bit of mid-field class around him in a couple of years time is mouth watering. 3. Sylvia - Starting to show some of the consistency we've been waiting for. Keep it up Col. 2. Bail - Worked hard as usual, and ball use was generally much better today. Maybe a holiday next week compliments of the MRP? 1. Trengove - His best game for the year
  13. Well done. Tom has earned an opportunity, and hopefully he will grasp it with both hands..
  14. A potential 'draw-card' (if he's not one already) and definitely a 'must sign'. Give him good money (front ended) but for 3 years max imo ............ and hope like hell that he doesn't come back to earth too awkwardly after one of his speccies.
  15. 'The Eagle Demon has landed', and life is all good again. Thanks for all the hard work guys!
  16. Thanks for your sensational work, Andy, Nsher et al, and long may it continue. I've just contributed to make myself a 'double' Life Member (which shows how much I value Demonland) ..... but I sure as hell hope it doesn't take two life-times before we can all celebrate the elusive #13.
  17. I agree with you on that old dee, and reluctantly, I'm starting to come around to your way of thinking re No.7. But I don't agree with your final point in post 31. Dees by 3 goals.
  18. I agree Nasher, and I'd love him to play where he is named in the BP. I reckon he could carve out a fair career as a small, deep defender. Disciplined, hard at it, reads the play well and very good overhead for his size. Not the quickest and not the greatest kick, but would be very dependable imo. If he's going to make it, the BP may be his go.
  19. I expect that Neeld will like Nev's workrate and hardness, and I hope he can stay fit, and put his hand up for senior selection over the next 4 to 6 weeks.
  20. Well earned by Tom. Will be a cornerstone if our top line defence in a few years.
