  1. More 'Humphrey' (because of his quiet personality) or the obvious 'Garlo' these days.
  2. I'm ok now ........... Statute of Limitations.
  3. He wasn't having you on ManDee. Certainly in the top three.
  4. Interesting to compare that team with the one that held up a Premiership Cup a few months later: Outs Ins 'Wrecker' Leahy Frank Davis Graeme Watson 'Dasher' Don Williams Ray Groom Johnny Lord Rob Foster Peter McLean Herbie Matthews Brian Dixon Some handy inclusions in that lot, although a couple of the 'outs' were also fair players. Our under 19s also won a Flag in '64. I remember winning a 2 bob bet on the quinella.
  5. Agree. Reading between the lines, Roosy may have a similar view.
  6. 100% with you on all that Nasher, except for the last sentence. You are too easily satisfied, and have earned number 13, just like the rest of us!
  7. I'd like nothing better than to beat the Tigers on Saturday, but I must admit to having a nagging worry in the pit of my gut. We are coming off a grueling contest against the Dogs, and the Tigers will be fresh after a bye, with their players carrying fewer niggles than our boys. Their last game at the Cattery was solid, and the Tommy Hafey pre-match 'celebration' might give them an early lift, and a better start than they have been able to achieve in most games this year. Jees I hope we can pull it off against the odds. It would be a sensational way to go into our bye.
  8. Work-rate is undoubtedly one of Roosy's 'non-negotiables'. Ro Bail has it in spades ..... probably in the top 10 at Melbourne against this criterion. Further, he seems to my eyes to be steadily learning his craft (eg. running to better places and choosing better options) as well as improving his skills (eg. kicking and tackling). At this rate he will be best 22 at Melbourne for a fair while yet, and maybe add another 100 to his current games tally. The type of hard working foot-soldier that every club values.
  9. Now there's an insightful comment if ever I've seen one KDA. I doubt that any Demonlander would disagree with you today, although plenty may have on Sunday morning.
  10. A footy icon and who lived and breathed our great game. RIP Tommy, our game is better for your involvement.
  11. 6. Tyson - a ripper 5. Cross 4. Jamar 3. N Jones 2. Viney 1. JKH
  12. That's going a bit far Jack. IIRC, Tas. Johnson and Brad Green only had two heads between them, and most of the time Howie only has one (but I'll concede he may don a second when he's up in rarefied air taking a hanger).
  13. I heard train/tram fares and home-made sandwiches on the way to the G. I think they made up for it after game though.
  14. I regard Demonland as footy porn. Good or bad, it's always worth a look, and a daily dose is is essential for a healthy lifestyle (especially as I'm old, and live in Canberra!). I'll make another donation on that basis.
  15. C'mon od. Don't deny us the odd bit of scenery as we cross the stony desert to the holy grail. It might be a mirage, but it may also be an oasis.
  16. Three cheers for justice Ten cheers for the Melbourne Football Club This was widely seen as a 'landmark case' for the game we love ........ take note that it is also a 'watershed' for the Club we love and cherish. We are on the rise ....... enjoy the journey!!
  17. Thanks for the opportunity Saty. Not a question for a player, but I'd be interested to know from your observation of the the drills, who seems most likely to get a call up if Jack's appeal is disallowed (Evans, Rielly, Clisby or someone else?).
  18. Good pick up Bobby, its nice to reminisce occasionally. Fingers crossed, Christian won't attempt to emulate Brian Dixon's kicking style any time soon. Chip Frawley is already making a reasonable fist of that.
  19. I reckon the Club's decision to appeal might have the opposite effect.
  20. We are appealing on the grounds “that the decision was so unreasonable, that no Tribunal acting reasonably could have come to that decision having regard to the evidence before it", and I’m extremely proud of my Club for standing up for its players and members. Unfortunately, I fear it will be extremely difficult to overturn an outcome predetermined by AFL Head Office.
  21. Easy, it's the AFL Tribunal's definition of JUST ICE. Ahh, now that might explain a few things!
  22. BASTARDS! (that's the most polite thing I can say right now, impossible to hide my anger)
  23. Why are we surprised? The AFL have a (shameful) history of singling-out our Club for rough justice when it suits them to change rule interpretations (Trengove, tanking, priority picks, etc). Can anyone imagine this outcome if it was a 'filth' player involved? It stinks like s*#t!
  24. Most of all he plays like JKH, and he wears our colours. Forget the comparisons, under Roosy's guidance he has the attributes to become a 'benchmark' player of our very own.
  25. Knowing the lack of logic which typically applies in these cases, I cant help but fear another injustice.
