  1. Sorry Nasher. Unfortunately, I'm getting the above message when I click onto the Draft / Trade Rumours thread.
  2. From the Sydney Swans website: THE Sydney Swans wish to thank departing coaches Leigh Tudor and George Stone. ................................................................................... Longmire said he wished to once again acknowledge the contribution of Stone, who was honoured as a life member of the Swans at last Friday night’s Club Champion Dinner. “George has made an enormous contribution to this club over the past 12 years and it is absolutely fitting that he departs as a life member,” Longmire said. “George has primarily worked in our opposition analysis and development areas and has been a key factor in the successful development of so many Swans players over the journey. “He has commuted to Sydney on a regular basis over the past few years and we understand that he wishes to remain in Melbourne full-time. “We thank him for everything he has done for the club and wish him all the best.
  3. Thanks to both of them. Chris served the Club well on and off over a very long period and is a Life Member. Neil did a fantastic job in difficult circumstances during his short tenure. All the best for the future to both. edit: delete repetition
  4. Thanks for all your hard yakka Nasher. Now, silky smooth with pace and grunt .... just like our 2014 midfield!
  5. Brilliant Nasher! Our first genuine star since .........??
  6. Rohan works hard to get the ball then promptly butchers it far too often. I really like his courage, pace and work-rate, but his is iffy disposal, lack of composure and questionable decision making indicate to me that he will be spending a lot of time at Casey in 2014. Like quite a few others on our list, the step between VFL and AFL is a step too far for him.
  7. A bit like a relationship breakup perhaps? A tinge of disappointment initially, but the prospect of someone new and exciting between the sheets.
  8. Treacle ... and 502 Gateway errors.
  9. Not sad and not glad about Col's decision .... just neutral, neither here nor there, hopefully move on to something better.
  10. More of the same? Unfortunately, Col has made more than a few poor choices during his career.
  11. Now much faster than our mid-field Thanks Nasher.
  12. Telstra @ desktop combo. Some dead, dead slow periods over the last two days and a couple of gateway errors as well. Do your best guys, I'm sure you'll fix it like you always do!
  13. Outstanding CV, which seems perfectly fitted for assisting with the rebuild of the Melbourne Footy Club from the foundations up. Welcome Kate, you have just embarked on a journey which you will never forget (hopefully for all the right reasons). ps. If you haven't already done so, I suggest you take out life membership of Demonland. Without question, it's the most informed place in the world about every aspect of MFC operations. (lol).
  14. I thought he might offer something based on the fact that the Hawks had chased him 12 months earlier .... but I was very wrong!
  15. The general consensus from Casey reports seems to be that Dom does some exciting things when he has the pill, but he doesn't get it often enough. He has time on his side, and is apparently quite driven to succeed, so I trust Roosy to get the best out of him. We will know in a year or so.
  16. He is what he is ........ ie. a 'trier' who filled a hole in a poor list list. We are now (hopefully) upgrading our list, and James won't be part of it, but not everyone can be an A grade footballer. Good luck James!
  17. Yeah, but it's a hell of a lot easier when you have close to an extra $ million in your salary cap.
  18. Disappointing year for Chris injury-wise, and for the fact that he was probably under-done in most of his games. However, he 'organised' the forward line, led from the front and busted his gut each time he was out there, and for these qualities alone he has been a worthy pick-up imo. My feeling is that he would be an 'easy' player to coach, and I reckon Roosy will love his leadership and the team things he does. If he can get his body sound, he will repay us in spades, and like just about everyone else around here, I can't wait to see him as one of three quality talls in our forward half.
  19. Tappy has been a major disappointment for me. Just doesn't get enough of the footy and when he does, his reputed 'booming kick' lets him down far too often, especially in front of goals. Sadly, I'm starting to think that he might have 'caught the eye' as a junior because his size enabled him to 'bully' less physically developed peers, but this won't cut the mustard in big league. Definitely needs more strings to his bow than he has shown to date..
  20. I agree with that dazzler. Needs to build his tank, find more football and improve his awareness, but these will develop with experience and another pre-season or two. Has a lot of the right ingredients to be a very good 'modern-day' mid with grunt, run and a hint of agro.
  21. Roosy said OTC tonight that Melbourne would speak to Shaw if the opportunity presents itself, but he ruled him out of the National Draft pick 2 equation. Roos ruse ..... I doubt it!
  22. We just haven't seen enough of Pickles to make a judgement about his future. The jury is still out imo, but because we desperately need mids, he will have more time to prove his credentials, one way or the other.
  23. Sharing my grief and disbelief with fellow Demonlanders is all that kept me sane (albeit only slightly) during season 2013 .......... and now that the trade / FA / draft season is upon us, I can see that many around here suffer from a similar affliction. Thanks Demonland ...... BRILLIANT work!.
