Here is something about our old fitness dept. I know one of the guys that worked in the fitness department (he was the one who walked with the players when they came off, but he did more than that). Anyway...this year was his fifth year with the dees. His first 2 years he was paid $5000 a year as a F/T employee, had to be there at every trianing session most days during the week etc... he wouldn't tell em what they uped his pay too after the first two years, but it was no where near what he could of been getting elsewhere. This guy was good at what he did, but he was straight out of Uni when he got the job... Thats how much we valued Fitness.

Can someone please explain how this was a grudge match...when Brisbane gladly worked with us for the trade so they could give it to Freo......Freo v Bris would be a grudge match not us v Bris....

I sent this e-mail to KB...don't think it will get read out but anyway... IS this guy serious??...calling us a rabble because we don't pay 100% of the salary cap. This proves what an irrelevant waste of space this guy is. No wonder he works for the Australian, Australia's most irrelevant newspaper. Does this fool actually understand that by doing what we are doing it puts us in a position to trade for players (Clark), and next year be in prime position with money available to be a big player to target someone in Free Agency. Not only that but in the future when our young stars will be demanding big contracts, we will be able to keep them without having the salary cap pressure like the Saints do this year. I guess we need to have a drug culture like his beloved Weagles for him to support us. Seriously, KB, bring back Smith, not even he is that dumb.

Would love this trade to happen..and if means one of our first round picks....Clark would be HUGE...the guy can play forward and is a very good ruckmen to boot. The Filth lost cos they were carp.....and the usual wobbles came in.....last year they were lucky they came against a team even worse then them...in the Saints. but it is so good to see them lose......the only thing sweeter would be watching us beat the Scum.

Since the other post was locked i couldn't comment there..but for anyone who is wondering we didn't actually sack or not renew Hockings contract he actuallyhanded in a resignation a few weeks back...pretty sure he is heading to Carlton.

Warnock can not pay the role Rivers does...no way in hell can he.....Rivers plays that role because he is the best at it in the team. He is one of our best spoilers, has more courage than anyone else at the club barr maybe McKenzie, and his reading of the play is 2nd to none. That is why he plays a role that is super important to every team now.

i'm thinking of downgrading from next year..been in the top echelon Trident and its predecessors for quite awhile now......not sure its worth it anymore

Yeah they sell games to Port, WC, Brisbane, etc..to Tassie and get $4,000,000 a season for it and now have 10,000 Tassie members, instead of leaving those games in Melbourne and losing money... Gee they are so dumb.... You bag them for selling games...lets have a look where we have been in the last few years selling games and gaining nothing....Brisbane, Canberra, Darwin, we even wanted to sell a game to WC a few years ago. At least they did it with a long term plan in mind...where we just did it for the immediate payoff.

i can't believe people are saying no to the suggestion of Lyon because the Saints play unattractive football...has anyone considered that he went ultra defensive, because other than 4-5 players, the saints are just not that good. and secondly....like many others have said....would you rather lose by 186 playing exciting football....or win by 30 playing unattractive football i know what i want.

I wrote this in the game day thread....we need to get rid of the soft Daniher era players that are left and give the leadership to the new breed who actually try and run and tackle and get angry when they lose... The amount of times i saw green, Beamer and Davey just strolling around...pretending to run...standing in no mans land....was just laughable... Leaders should be Watts..Trenners..Chip...McKenzie..Grimes...I'd put Watts captain... as for scully...obviously disinterested...put him in Casey and let him go..don't even try and placate him with anything...either he accepts the going rate...200K-300K or goodbye...
