  1. For those who are opting for Davey to be dropped need to get their heads checked. Over the two weeks Davey has been regaining some form and showing glimpses of his former self, as well as very successfully on a number of occasions extracting the ball from the pack with sharp hands, opening the run of play. If he continues this week by week he could have a break out game and inject the confidence he so desperately needs. Dropping him would just be starting from square one again. Instead of just refreshing the disposal count on footy live apps and making a judgement call based from that, try actually watching the game and thinking from a mental and fundamental perspective.
  2. 100% Correct Die Hard Demon. I'm glad someone with logic has posted a reasonable explanation to the current game plan. All we need now is for the players to click and keep the ball locked in our forward line.
  3. Just wanted to bump this thread and praise Magner on his tagging performance on Boyd. 4 games under his belt against an influential player, and limiting him for the whole night was very impressive from what I thought.
  4. In before we have these high draft picks, and completely put them to waste. Recruiting players who resemble the likes of Brock Mclean, Cale Morton, Mitch Thorp and get completely scrutinised again by the media for the following 4 years of how we should have picked "Joe Blogs" instead.
  5. I heard the new tv show "the voice" implemented the same strategy we use in drafting footy players as they use picking singers.
  6. Mate, I've penciled us a loss against Gold Coast. No doubt about it. GWS will actually be a very tight game.
  7. Don't be so sure. We do play GWS this year, and from watching the game against West Coast they showed more passages of play that resulted in goals in one game than we have gotten all season.
  8. I'm not sure if this has been discussed or brought up previously but just a thought. Has green ever been experimented as a defender? I know you guys might be thinking ah too slow and all that - but Green runs back with the flight of the ball, gets in and under could probably win a few free kicks if he goes hard at the ball, has the game sense and knowledge to take one on ones - wouldn't surprise me if he could be a great spoiler maybe a Tarrant type player and a contested mark? I would honestly feel more comfortable seeing Green in the backline rather than Joel Macdonald in regards to taking marks, his disposals and footy smarts. At the moment Green is doing nothing at the moment in the spots he is playing in. Get him to take an imposing key position forward player and see how he fairs?
  9. Everyone was thinking this. A comment needed to be said, gotzy15 only one who speaks his true mind. Here here.
  10. 1) Pointless topic 2) I cant fathom to think about if we were in such a position to draft picks #1 and #2 the added pressure on those players performing and the media scrutinizing us on how we made the wrong decision again. I am sick to death on Melbourne 'apparently' making the wrong pick choices when at the time where the best available options at that number. I'd rather now just stick to getting picks around 15-30 mid range and hope to snare a superstar i.e. Nat Fyfe at 20 or Dane Swan pick 58.
  11. Anyone got any leagues happening? My team name : fnatics thanksss
  12. WWJD. "What would Jim do?" He was that much of an inspiration that I will ask myself this question with certain decisions in my life, due to his humble and moral approach. This world could do with more people like Jim Stynes, and if we acted the way he did towards others and applied the same passion he did for the MFC to our lives, we could all make a difference for ourselves and people around us. RIP Jim. Gone, but never forgotten.
  13. Talking about his passing on the radio at work, they paid him tribute by playing back interviews of him with an emotional song in the background - so hard not to shed a tear. Thanks for all the work you've done Jimmy for this club, for REACH and for your family. A true inspiration.
  14. I was just reading the thread the other day how one person said Jurrah shouldn't be paid for his time of absence and he was blasted for it..I'm a huge Jurrah fan but this is just ridiculous. If the outcome is a negative one for Liam I would not be surprised if he has played the last game for the MFC...
  15. His work ethic and 1%'s to get the initial possession to feed it out to our running players was great to see. We have been without a player like this, and if he performs like this week in week out he will definitely be a valuable midfielder for our long term success.
  16. I agree, but we are still crying out for that classy Trengove clone within the midfield. The next 'super' draft will be a very interesting one.
  17. Some [censored] bag told me and my mates to stop swearing, I literally tried and could not help myself - its just a part of footy life. Here is a thought, if the AFL are so concerned about footy crowd behavior have a little section for family if they are too scared of being surrounded by passionate supporters, let them sit in a little section in which you won't hear a peep out of anyone. That we in turn we can swear, they can sit there and listen to their children talk about how well they are doing in their game boy game at the time. Everyone is happy.
  18. Not sure if a thread topic like this has been created before, but I'm bored and procrastinating from uni study. So I post the question, "How have you let your demon out?" I have a few car stickers on the back of my car, few posters, my face book profile changes from a few different demon players weekly and I wear my Guernsey on top of my hoodie to uni when we win on the weekend. Right now my demon spirit is going crazy, my brother and I have been thinking of getting a tattoo "My heart beats true" across the left side of my chest in cursive writing - will most likely be booking this in shortly (David don't tell Dad if your reading this ) How have you let your demon out? - Drink from a Melbourne Demons coffee mug at work? - Let your mates or co-workers know how Melbourne are going? e.g we were playing with 5 players with under 5 games experience and how good our future looks with young stars? - Your room is raped with Melbourne posters? - You have a Melbourne Football club license plate? Upload pics, share your stories, get your red and blue blood flowin' -jk1d
  19. It seems like whenever the media is criticizing our game we come out and respond so I welcome what the idiot Lloyd has to say. Here that Melbourne? The media sledging you again, you guys celebrate too hard. Leadership group call a team meeting, ask every player if they have come to celebrate or not. Fire up and make a stand
  20. The way Stef dropped back into defense, created a contest and followed it up with his second efforts and accurate kicking or a clean handball to release a running player was amazing to watch. And also leading up through the center creating options and opportunities for run and switch. He has come out of no where as did Jamar. Martin is playing his best footy when he is dropping back and pushing up, not going forward and kicking goals. He is a crucial part in providing some tall lead up marks coming off half back. Great to see him find some amazing form.

    Strauss

The way he played on from kicking in and delivering a penetrating kick to the wing, which then seeing Howe leap over the pack and take a massive grab made me all wet.
  22. I've been harping on for Jack Grimes to be named in the middle to give him a run, saw him there in the opening bounce and nearly wet myself. A massive shame to see him go down with this injury and prematurely cut off what I believe would have paid off naming Grimes in the middle against Adelaide. However when one door closes, another one opens. This isn't our year to be aiming for top 4 even top 8, sure position progress is great up the ladder - but I'm just as excited to see who could be named in our squad and make a real impact. i.e Tapscott. That being said if I were Bailey I would give any one of our younger players a shot instead of bringing back Cale Morton straight into the side. Whether that would be Evans, Nicholson, Blease etc. Better this injury happen now than 4 years down the track when we are looking at finals contentions.
  23. Absolute utter joke. Not only can't we find space, but we can't even kick the ball inside the massive wide oval we are playing on. If it wasn't for a few misses, the margin would be a lot more than what it is now. I am disgusted.
