In terms of personnel for tomorrow vs what we had in round 9 (I know some find this irrelevant but I like the comparison), we have changed a lot... OUT: Weideman, Pedersen, Jones, Vince, Wagner, Kent, & Bugg IN: Hogan, Gawn, ANB, Harmes, Melksham, Trengove & JKH Also the rampaging TMac is now up forward.

North almost always get the jump on us in the first quarter. 2015 they kicked 7.4 to our 2.0 in the first, and went on to win by 35 2016 they kicked 8.2 to our 2.2, and went on to win by 5 Round 9 this year they kicked 6.7 (could have been a LOT worse) to our 2.5, and went on to win by 14 Stating the bleeding obvious here, but if we can stick with them in the opening quarter tomorrow, we are well on the way.

Reiwoldt & Prestia both sidelined for Tigers this week while Gold Coast get Ablett & May back. GC a sneaky chance? Definitely would help our push up the ladder if we can get over Norf and gain a couple of %

Not sure if serious... I hope you are stirring 'cause I already have enough people on my 'propensity to make stuff up/misinterpret/embellish' list

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - ALEX NEAL-BULLEN

I realise that. Just trying to dumb it down to a simple what we gave up vs what we got back. We gave Picks 2, 20 and 72 and got back Tyson, 9 (Salem) and 53 (Hunt) We gave Pick 23 (used by GWS to get McKenna) and got back Frost, 40 (ANB) and 53 (OMac) We then got McKenna back a couple of years later for basically nothing, which means we in effect got Frost, ANB, OMac for free. -
You would think that if we are going to make a strong case for September action we'll need to get a few more early goals on the board than that.

Nathan Burke. He has actually been helping young Gus work through his concussions issues... http://m.melbournefc.com.au/news/2017-06-29/saint-great-helps-brayshaw-in-comeback

I was top deck in Olympic, right next to MCC and it wasn't too bad. It's usually pretty sheltered up there, compared to Southern Stand

I worked out very roughly last week that it'd cost ~$300 for return flight to Hobart (arrive early morning, leave same day late evening), car hire for a day and ticket to match.

Agreed!! And I had this rant already over on joeboys thread...

So in effect... We traded - picks 2, 20 & 72 We got - Tyson, Salem, Hunt, Frost, ANB, OMac & McKenna Thanks GWS! -
Anyone got any info on Max? He was supposed to be on 'AFL Game Day' this morning but has been replaced on show as has an ankle problem. Didn't go into any detail

These are the member numbers we had during that time... 2000 - 18,227 2001 - 22,940 2002 - 20,152 2003 - 20,555 2004 - 20,647 2005 - 24,805 2006 - 24,698 So based on that vs an interstate side, 20,000 isn't too bad. Last time I checked though, we have almost 42,000 members and in a game so pivotal to our finals chances, against a side we are directly competing against for a top 4 spot, in Trenners first game back in ages, on what is apparently everyones preferred day and timeslot for a match... etc etc etc, 27,000 is, imo, ordinary.
-
Powell-Pepper. I was just about to post the same thing.

The OCD in me finds the use of spaces between M F C, G W S & W T F quite irritating...
-
Melbourne members/supporters - where were you? 27,000 is pretty ordinary considering all the obvious good reasons to go. How much more incentive do you need?
-
299 too many
-
Viney pretty quiet that quarter. Had 12 disposals in first term and only picked up 2 more to half time. Third quarter is massive. Hope come out with the same intensity and keep rolling on. Dont want a post NT game 2nd half fade out.

300th game for umpire Nicholls...
-
JKH doing hit out warm ups with the other key mids & max. Might see a bit more of him through the middle
-
Really looking forward to this. One final thing... GO DEES!!

Biased I suppose suggests a personal element by the members of the MRP. How about guided then? Or directed? Or manipulated? The same decisions for and against certain teams/players happens far too often for it to be put down to inconsistency.

Agreed... though last week seemed particularly bad to me, when almost every turnover seemed to end up with a crows goal.
