  1. Absolutely the attitude that builds a winning team. “I was watching the game and people said ‘wouldn’t you love success?’ and I said ‘it wouldn’t mean anything to me unless it was with Melbourne’. Super impressed from just one quote.
  2. Can we give them Terlich and M.Jones for him?
  3. Seeing the class of the hawks on Saturday got me wondering, who from our current list will make up our next flag tilt, who is actually good enough to play at the standards we have seen from the premiers. I bet this is what the coaching/drafting staff have done, and is an excellent way to determine what other players are needed on our list. Potential has been included, if they have shown enough to warrant it. FB: Jetta - 1 - Dunn HB: Salem - McDonald - 2 C: Vince - N.Jones - 6 HF: 3 - Hogan - Kent FF: Garlett - 4 - 5 R: Gawn - Viney - Brayshaw I: Tyson - Vanders - x - x So, this shows we still need: 1) A tall defender who locks down 2) A classy rebounder 3) A HF type who can rotate in the mid 4) A FF who can help Hogan and ruck for 30% of the game 5) A FP who can play big and small 6) A winger who can run all day and is lightning quick Who could fill these roles? 1) Frost, potential trade in, potential draftee 2) Stretch, potential trade in, potential draftee 3) Petrecca, Newton, ANB, JKH 4) potential trade in, potential draftee 5) potential trade in, potential draftee 6) potential trade in, potential draftee So, from this, it seems we should be hunting this period: - A FF who can develop with Hogan - A classy winger/mid to help with our speed and young guns - A smart FP like T.Dickson, who can lead up and provide pressure. The rest we can see if we have develop with our own stocks, and if not, turn our attention there in 2016,17,etc
  4. I love how people thought this was serious.. #demonland
  5. Knocked back a mature aged rookie spot, reckons he can land a senior list gig somewhere else. Will play on somewhere else for another year.
  6. What does the dees midfield need? They need pace and xfactor, which is something this guy has in spades. Sure, he has a tone of arrogance and some off field drug issues, but maybe a change of location away from the gold coast strip could help this young fella develop into a top 5 player like he can. What would we have to give to get him? I'd happily give up 6 to get him and a 2nd rounder... his roof is off the charts.
  7. Ins: Salem - Newton - Vanders (if right) Outs: Michie - Brayshaw (rested) - ANB (if Vanders gets up) FB: Garland - Dunn - Jetta HB: Howe - McDonald - Salem C: Lumumba - N.Jones - Vince HF: Watts - Dawes - Newton FF: Garlett - Hogan - Vanders (ANB) R: Gawn - Viney - Tyson I: Cross - M.Jones - Grimes S: Harmes Dunn - Crammers McDonald - Stringer Garland - Dickson
  8. They might have met at the nightlight store..
  9. Lets hope Nick doesn't play, he always cooks us. Ins: Grimes Outs: ANB (needs a rest) FB: Jetta - Dunn - Grimes HB: Garland - McD - Howe C: Vince - N.Jones - Prince HF: Howe - Dawes - Watts FF: Garlett - Hogan - JKH R: Gawn - Tyson - Cross I: Brayshaw - Viney - Stretch S: Harmes Matchups: Backs (no nick) Mcdonald to Bruce Dunn to McCartin Jetta to Lonie I back all of our defenders to win those contests. Mids: Viney to Steven Jones to Armitage Vince to Joey Should be tight, Viney needs to physicaly hurt Steven
  10. This thread was meant to be a joke............... God bless d'land!
  11. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-07-20/the-run-home-hope-flickers-for-the-cats-and-how-high-can-essendon-still-finish 20 points (five wins, 10 losses) 79 per cent Richmond's miracle last year means September action for the Demons isn't mathematically ludicrous. However, the Tigers were a better side and a similar run for Melbourne would require an unlikely win against the ladder leaders in Perth in round 22. Two games at Etihad Stadium pose another problem. The Dees haven't won at the venue since 2007.
  12. Outs: Spencer, ANB, Stretch, Bail Ins: Vanders, Grimes, Lumumba, JKH FB: Garland - Dunn - Jetta HB: Grimes - McD - Lumumba C: Vince - N.J - M.Jones HF: Howe - Dawes - Watts FF: Garlett - Hogan - JKH R: Gawn - Viney - Tyson I: Brayshaw - Cross - Toumpas S: Vanders E: Jamar - Stretch - ANB
  13. Jetta plays when he chooses. Best lock down defender by a street.
  14. Ins: Outs: FB: Jetta - Dunn - Garland HB: Salem - McD - Harry.L C: Viney - N.Jones - Vince HF: Watts - Dawes - Kent FF: Garlett - Hogan - Frost R: Jamar - Cross - Tyson I: Howe - Brayshaw - Newton S: VanderBerg Match Ups: Jetta - Betts Dunn - Walker McDonald - Jenkins Garland - Lynch Viney - Danger Cross - Sloane Tyson - Douglas I actually think our backs match up really well with their forwards. Jetta and Betts will be a cracker, Dunn is the perfect size for Walker and Garland/Lynch will be interesting. We need a heap from J-man and Frost to stop their mids getting first use. I think it will be closer than people are saying...
  15. No change. Show some metal. If they can respond as a group, then it will be a huge positive. If we make wholesale changes and still get pumped, what then? Bring Dawes back in. No change! Believe in the process.
  16. Fact: 6 Disposals for a sub is poor, especially when they get 2 cracks at it. Fact: 1/6 being effective as a sub is extremely poor, especially when most players on the G were out on their legs. Fact: Subs are meant to have a positive impact on the game, he did not.
  17. Wrong. So wrong. Did you watch the game? Toumpas has very low confidence and it affects his decision making. Three times he made the wrong decision (His DE was at 16% - compared to the team average of 70%ish), and the last could have cost us the game. (Luckily for H to come through and clean up his mess) I want Toump to succeed more than most, but until we gets some confidence in the magoos, that's where he should stay.
  18. Unfortunately, JKH may be the unlucky one. He did some good things, but will miss because 2 senior match winning, leaders are due to come back. Outs: JKH - Toump Ins: Dawes - Vince FB: Jetta - Dunn - Garland HB: Salem - McD - Howe C: H.L - Cross - Vince HF: Watts - Dawes - Kent FF: Garlett - Hogan - Frost ® R: Jamar - NJ - Tyson I: Newton - Vanders - Viney S: Brayshaw E: JKH - Grimes - Gawn
  19. My take: FB: Jetta - Dunn - Grimes HB: HL - McDonald - Salem C: Viney - N.Jones - Newton HF: Watts - Hogan - JKH FF: Garlett - Frost ® - Howe R: Jamar - Cross - Tyson I: Pedo - M.Jones - Brayshaw S: Vince E: Garland - Kent - Michie
  20. Excellent work by this group, people like this are exactly what a struggling club needs..... more of them and less of the keyboard warriors (who shall not be named)
  21. Are people still waiting for training? Calm down about Hogan too... they will be managing him.
  22. So after seeing a bit of the intra.... 22 for round 1: FB: Jetta - Dunn - Frost HB: Salem - TMac - Prince C: M.Jones - N.Jones - Vince HF: Howe - Pedo - Garlett FF: Kent - Hogan - Gawn R: Jamar - Cross - Tyson I: Viney - Toump - Newton S: JKH E: Garland - Watts - Grimes
