It doesn’t feel real that our season could be over in less than 24 hours, there is so much unfinished business. All of the player interviews this week don’t feel like it’s a possibility either. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not…
-
Trac is playing, he would have been completely off his feet today if he was in any doubt. He’ll play. Melksham won’t be dropped, he’s had one bad game out of the last 5. Id love to see Bowey in, but I can’t see who for. The only chance I see is Trac forward, Harmes into the Center to tag and Salem to the wing. ANB makes way and Bowey goes back to HBF. I think Dunstan will be sub. Security blanket.

Harmes out hurts next week, he’s our best tagger.

There is so much doom and gloom in this thread, and I get it, we didn’t execute when we needed to last night. The swans are so well damn coached that it was never going to be a walk over, and we just couldn’t wrestle back momentum when we needed to in the last. To say that it’s the end of our own dynasty because we lost one final, when we have a double chance next week, is pathetic. Grow up. Even if this year ends up being out in straight sets, we won the flag last year and ended up second this year…. How quickly we forget the years of 2014 when I was just happy for the dees to get an inside 50. Look at our team now full of studs, it’s a bloody joy to just be up to our eyeballs in the pointy end of it all. Have a look at yourselves.

Yep; starting to look good! Just too many weeks in between of average (which is fine, just not AA standard) performance
-
Lingers has had an average second half of the year. No issues with him missing out
-
No chance of Melksham out, he’s our third most dangerous forward. Sparrow and ANB are defensive beasts, don’t get caught up in stats here. Positioning and work rate does not appear on the stats sheet. I’d say the only chance is JJ out as sub, and Salem/Bowey being the sub.

Extremely random thread (and thought), but who is the most well known passionate Dees supporter amongst our supporter base? Most well known celebrity and also non-celebrity? Celebrity? It’s cool to see Illy being a massive fan. Non-Celeb? Naughtsie from the Deebrief is pretty well known for his good stuff on his pod.

Lynden Dunn back supporting the Demons!
GawnWithTheWind replied to Supreme_Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
F**k Dunn. I’ll never forget how happy he was when the Pies beat the Dees a few years back and it meant we missed finals. Meant nothing for the Pies. He was dancing around like he just won the GF. All it showed was his lack of class and lack of appreciation for the club who drafted him. [censored] him. -
Top 2 isn’t impossible. The Pies can easily lose the next 2, Brisbane have some hard games and the Swans aren’t guaranteed to beat both teams either. It’s still game on. Even if we only go 1-1, Top 2 or Top 4 is still very possible. Id love to get the Cats week 1. They’ve had the softest draw and love to choke in the finals.

What they're saying down at Linton Street
GawnWithTheWind replied to Queanbeyan Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
My saints mates are extremely confident against us, and even more so with another failure at selection for us. Its depressing that we are now behind that pathetic club. We won’t get within 30-40 points of them tonight. -
My two cents. Ins: Gawn - Rivers Outs: Sparrow - TMac ---- B: Hibberd - May (Membrey) - Lockhart (Butler) HB: Salem - Tomlinson (Resting ruck) - Lever C : Langdon - Viney - Harmes (Hill) HF: Fritsch - Weid - Melksham FF: Spargo - Preuss - Pickett R: Gawn - Oliver - Trac I: Brayshaw - Hannan - Rivers - Vanders (crush Billings or someone like that) E: Jones (too slow for the saints), TMac (need to rest Gawn more fwd)

GAMEDAY: Rd 11 vs North Melbourne
GawnWithTheWind replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
When do they announce the final teams and late changes? -
Outs: - Max will get a rest. He did his job last night. North are the perfect team for Preuss to play against, he'll want to prove himself. - ANB will get 2-4 weeks for his tackle. - Vanders might get a rest too. He copped another face knock, and may need the week to recover. Ins: - Pickett was rested (they just didn't want to mention ''managed" because it would go against Goodwin's previous comments) - Preuss gets his chance - Hannan back in to replace Vanders. ---- FB: Lockhart - May - Lever HB: Salem - Tomlinson - Hibberd C : Langdon - Viney - Jones HF: Melksham - Jackson - Bennell FF: Pickett - Weid - Fritsch R: Preuss - Oliver - Trac I: Hannan - Sparrow - Harmes - Brayshaw

Jetta needs to stay for the Gray match up. Jones deserves another week. Bennell needs a rest. TMac will put on the same amount of tackling pressure as Bennell would, so no huge pressure loss with his inclusion there. Ins: McDonald Outs: Bennell — Jetta (Gray) - May (Dixon) - Lever Salem (Duursma) - OMac - Lockhart (Butters) Langdon - Viney - Jones Melksham - TMac - Hannan Pickett - Weid - Fritsch Gawn - Oliver - Trac Brayshaw - Harmes - Jackson - Hibberd

I’m guessing 5+

I don’t normally get emotive on Demonland, but I really don’t know why any of us bother with these guys anymore. Melbourne Demons have to be one of the worst teams to follow in any professional sport around the world. Teams are laughing at us mid game... mid game. Let that sink in.

Jake Lever.. Can someone explain??
GawnWithTheWind replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Lever is worth a late first round pick, and 4-500k a year. We overpaid, and it caused some issues with the playing group. Lots were angry about paying 800k for an intercepting defender with average skills. They were right. Unfortunately it was a gamble that didn’t pay off. We hoped he would be our Howe, Stewart or Sicily but he’s a tier or two below.
