Demonland provides the sad realisation that we spend more time worrying about our players leaving then enjoying September football. The media talk about the dogs drought, all they have to do is come online here and see the real supporters pain. And with all the crap being said in here, Jesse is still in the top 5 most important people to help us into September. How sad it is.... -

If Lycett hadn't done his knee, he could have been included in the deal and I rate him as a RF. We won't take a punt on him unless he's thrown in as steak knifes. IF hogan does choose to move home, I can see: Freo 2016 and Freo 2017 first round for Hogan and our 2nd rounder in 2017. We would then ontrade 2017 pick for someone like Patton? Redpath + sweatner? -
Realistic Trade Week Results (Wish List)
GawnWithTheWind replied to GawnWithTheWind's topic in Melbourne Demons
Greatest response. -
Starting a thread to discuss what people are wanting (realistically) from trade week. Be interested to see who you fellow 'landers think we may be targeting and have a good chance of getting. Also detail what we will have to give up to get the target. Created a poll to see what we come to.. My go at it: 1. Hibberd for our 2nd Rounder (done on day 1) 2. Vardy for 4th Rounder 3. Scott Thompson as a DFA (1 year deal with assistant coaching role) 4. Eric MacKenzie as a FA (3 year deal)

I wonder why the non-casey players havn't had their exit interviews yet? I saw that Viney was in Thailand, maybe a few of them have? Do they normally do them all together? -

Horrible example to use if you're trying to prove me wrong! The absolute vast majority of players play for cities that are not their home town, and they make that city their home town. They do pay acknowledgement to their origins, but that's where it ends for most. The lucky ones will finish their career in their town of origin, but it's mostly in their twilight years, ala dWade -

The NBA and NFL players never have to go home, because they are grown adults who understand its part of their career. The "Go Home" factor shows how immature these players really are. Geelong didn't need Ablett and Hawks didn't need Buddy ?? -

He is normally very tight lipped about anything on social media.. but the #staytuned is verrrrrrry interesting!! -
Delist certainties: Michie, Terlich, Newton, King Delist probabilities: M.Jones, Trade: ANB (keep if no trade), JKH (keep if no trade), Grimes (DL if no trade), Dawes, Garland (DL if no trade), Dunn That should be 5-6 spots freed up on the list for Hibberd + Wagner + 1 more trade in + 3 picks in draft
-
Great insights!
-
I'd rather have Cloke on our list than Dawes. If we can trade Dawes to Brisbane for a pick, then trade that pick onto the pies for Cloke, I'd be totally fine with that. He'd take some attention away from Jesse and Jack, until Weids is ready.

If its true that he is wavering, I wouldn't blame him at all... If its true, and he does have a family member who is sick, I would struggle to say that I'm 100% not coming home any time soon. I'd probably change my mind on a weekly basis until I have absolute confidence I'm making the right decision for my family, not my football club. Hes not $cully leaving for cash, or J.Frawley leaving for a cheap flag... he'd be jesse leaving for his family. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
GawnWithTheWind replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
It will be 27 plus maybe a swap of picks later, only maybe. Don't believe everything you read. Of course Essendon aren't going to come out and say "we are happy with 27, deal done"..... Its like when your selling your fridge, you don't advertise you happy with $100 straight away, you say $150, even though you know you'd be happy with $50 and a 6pack of VBs. -
The Most Un-Awesome Post Match Thread Ever
GawnWithTheWind replied to Chook's topic in Melbourne Demons
I haven't felt this flat from a loss in a long time. Carlton are horrid, and poor selection decisions cost us a shot at finals. Its just fkd. -
Yeah it was my thoughts, if one left, the other would. No one wants to be the one player to abandon the other guys.. Hurley is a missed opportunity, but Hibberd isn't much of an upgrade on any of our HBFers.
-
Rumours going around Hurley has signed with the dons. Source in the twittersphere. Apparently will be released this afternoon.
-
No change, unless for soreness or injury. Need to reward the players for continuing to perform. Pedo played his role, and thats all we can ask from him. Weids won't crash packs and bring the ball to ground, like pedo does, and we need that to help get Jeffy G and others into the game. Hogan needs a big week this week, looks out of sorts lately and not enjoying his footy much. Really loving the role Watts is playing now, he has the swagger we always hoped he'd find.

Tom McDonald (and Oscar) SIGNS.
GawnWithTheWind replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Great news. Tom is a top 5 defender. Oscar, has some areas to improve, but last 2 weeks has really started to show some glimpses. -
Shop/Trade: - Grimes, ANB, Dawes, Garland Delist: - Terlich, Michie, Newton, Lumumba, Retain: - Trenners (rookied) -------------------------------------------------- We will have to delist at least 5, maybe 6. So, I would say Dawes/Grimes may be let go if they can't find a new home. Garland/ANB will be retained.

Ben Kennedy has serious x factor, and aggression at the ball/man. He is best 22 for us, just needs to find some consistency in his body. He will be a great addition to Kent and Garlett, and should form our 3rd small forward.
