GAMEDAY: Rd 24 vs Sydney
Hope to see some decent movement in the forward line today with Fritsch back who knows where and when to lead. Wonât be seamless straight away but I feel a lot better getting him back for a game before the finals than if he was going straight into the QF off no footy. Highly doubt thereâll be any tanking today, either by us or Port. Not sure about the reasoning behind trying to avoid a certain opponent or venue in week one. âOh we donât want to play at AO or the Gabba?â Guess where weâre going if we lose the QF and make it to a prelim? Best to just play a normal game today and get set for winning the next month of footy

PREGAME: Rd 24 vs Sydney
I donât think last years finish is all that relevant, we didnât choke under pressure we were just crocked by the end. That said I donât think weâve got the fear factor yet due to the piecemeal forward line. We havenât put a big score on anyone for a while except the tigers and they were 20pts up late in the game. I think teams will be worried about us, theyâll know weâre hard to score against but theyâll know theyâll be in the game as we havenât buried anyone for a long while. We can change that against the swans, or if we have a big QF win then we can start to frighten teams.

Simon Goodwin extends contract to end of 2026
Solid point, some on here are acting as if weâve appointed him until 2033, a 2 year extension is more than reasonable

You donât think Dimma mightâve swapped a few texts or calls with some GC people before deciding to take his little overseas holiday?

Simon Goodwin extends contract to end of 2026
Exactly, the market works both ways. Doggies probably looking for a coach by mid next year, maybe WC, Freo if they are bottom 4-5 again, Cats if Scott gets the Hardwick rebuild burnout.. jobs out there for a premiership coach

POSTGAME: Rd 23 vs Hawthorn
Iâm sure theyâll do it again at different points too. Didnât do it today so that would suggest by your metric they werenât all that concerned. Coaches are getting 1.49 goals per game out of him overall, plus the forward pressure, tackle and chase. Probably wouldâve liked a bit more out of him today but itâs a team game, as long as somebodyâs kicking them weâre ok.

POSTGAME: Rd 23 vs Hawthorn
Toby Greene 29yo height 5â11â 210 career games 319 career goals @1.52pg Charlie Cameron 29yo 5â10â 197 career games 348 career goals @1.78pg Kysaiah Pickett 22yo height 5â7â 81 career games 121 career goals @1.49pg almost as if youâre not comparing apples with apples. Koz plays a different role to those 2, is in a different weight division and his goals pg still stack up pretty well despite everyone wanting him dropped (lol) or traded (loooooool) every second week.

Good the AFL is trialling this nonsense instead of working out a way for Casey to not have a bye every second week

Do I wish we had the taxpayer funded home ground with the best home ground advantage in the comp and the pick of any player born west of Melbourne at free agency and trade time? Yeah would be nice. Stuff them, hope they spend a decade in the wilderness

PREGAME: Rd 23 vs Hawthorn
In a forward line of JVR, Fritsch, Melksham and Smith the best 2 defenders are going to JVR and Fritsch. No one is going to be particularly worried about Smith with his 6 career goals unless he snags a couple early, then they might reconsider. Heâs still playing on potential not proven performance. He plays this week but when Fritsch is back I wouldnât be too worried if Smith was back to sub.
