Realistic outcome: Howe = Melksham Toumpas = B.Kennedy Grimes = Bugg Watts = 2nd rounder giving us 4 picks inside 43
-
Defantasyland: Howe for pick 10 (via Charlie Dixon trade) from GC Melksham is worth our 3rd rounder 43 These players are roughly equal value. Meanwhile deals are getting done ...
-
Yeah and about 70kg wringing wet. Well he's actually listed as 89kg - so I'll definitely give you him.
-
Petracca hasn't played an AFL game, Trengove is unlikely to play again IMO, and Watts isn't a mid and probably won't be at the club next year anyway. Our current 3 best mids are Vince, Viney, Jones - all smallish.
-
Lewis, Hodge, Burgoyne all 185+. Yeah Mitchell is 179 but even he's 4cm taller than Prestia.
-
Prestia is a very good player. I like Ben Kennedy too and the Pies supporters I know rate him. But they're both dwarves and we lack size in our midfield already.
-
You mean we're getting another Gus Brayshaw?
-
The earth is round(ish). And our 2nd round is currently 25 because GC has an end of 1st compo pick at 19 so currently that upgrade deal would be 25 > 16 http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-10-04/indicative-draft-order-your-clubs-provisional-picks-as-trade-period-unfolds

Some serious questions asked about Paul Roos ...

Yeah but who invented the back door? Cue Benny Hill theme. -
Hawthorn still win the flag IMO. They defeat Adelaide, then Freo in WA and then West Coast on the MCG in the GF. Even if they make the GF, Freo can't win it - 6/10 goals from Ballantyne and Walters on the weekend - the GF is a small forwards' graveyard.
-
I think $s talk - I'd be disappointed if we aren't offering Patrick Dangerfield $1M+ x 7 years. The Cats won't come near that and it will give Adelaide pause to think to match it.

Every thread has to be about Jack Watts?
-
I can't see how Pedersen is a meaningful 2nd ruck upgrade over Dawes vs Sandilands and Clarke, if you want that it's gotta be Spencer - but I struggle with Jamar and Spencer in the 22. I'd go with Jordie in defence and ruck Dawes again.
-
Agree, stick with Dawes as 2nd ruck - we're much more balanced with that set-up.
-
There's no doubt that Jack's skill makes us a better team but there is definitely an issue with his appetite for the contest. Brad Green made significant improvement in this area and made some kamikaze plays in his latter years. I think Jack's trajectory would benefit from him being solidly cleaned up one day.

Reminds me a bit of Kevin Dyson's arrival - a few years of maturity, big body, big kick

Bail v Michie = garnish

In: Vince, Dawes Out: Toumpas (sub), Brayshaw (subbed) I like it that I don't like it that Brayshaw misses.

Too open to rorting by clubs - clubs swap free-agents of equal value and both get a compensation pick in addition. I think: Ditching compo for UFAs is a good idea. Maybe some restriction on top 4 clubs taking RFAs Maybe clubs have to sacrifice their "pick after" the awarded compensation pick when they take an RFA, sort of similar to F/S. So MFC still get pick 3 for Frawley as per curent rules, but Hawthorn have to give up their 1st rounder (20 something?) for Frawley (that pick is used on Frawley in the draft a la F/S), so that there's some cost to the receiving club.
-
OK, so IYO 2015 QBW Out: Hogan, Frost, Watts, Jamar, McDonald would be more important than Out: Jones, Tyson, Vince, Dunn, Lumumba?
-
Continued good performance from the top 5 in last year's B&F is a pretty good indicator of who's most important: Jones Tyson Vince Dunn Cross I love Daniel Cross but I hope he gets replaced in this list next year and the prime candidates are HL (top 5 in the Pies B&F), Howe (#6), McDonald (#7), Watts (#10), Viney in year 3. Runners-up in recent years Grimes and Garland could get back to top form. It would be great to see a forward in there - Dawes or even Hogan!

Little Creatures Rogers is good. 3.8% but still tastes like beer.
