  1. If it were a choice I would get Goddard. But life is rarely a stark choice - equally attainable. You go after the areas you are lacking in. We lack a quality midfield and leaders. We also lack a strong body in the forward line. I would like to fix our midfield but reality may not make that possible.
  2. We didn't need to 'lock' him up. I think it is just a show of faith. The contract was agreed to before Todd was at the Dees IIRC.
  3. Kids got some issues to work on. Matty Warnock is a walking fist who is a liability with the footy. I don't believe he is as valuable as some Dees fans think. We will see soon enough.
  4. We got pick 10(ish) and pick 12 (ish - depending on where we finish). If we can get a star or a proven KPP with those picks we do the deal. Pick 10 and 12 are no certain things.
  5. Patently obvious...
  6. Go after him for sure. Inquire. I would give both Comp Picks as a start.
  7. So you are worried about the communication breakdown that occurs? With Junior this obviously applies as he was apparently not told the club was thinking this would be his last season. But... Woewodin and Powell were nearly a decade ago. With Daniher, Corcoran, and Fagan in charge. I was unaware Miller had a communication issue with his departure. I klnow he had a few things to say to the board about how the FD was being run but that is another (and I believe more pressing) concern. Robbo, Yze, and White were ageing players who felt they deserved a free year on good coin after all their successes(?) for the Dees. We were always going to move forward on a youth policy before the expansion clubs came in and we did. If they didn't see the writing on the wall then the communication breakdown was their fault. I don't see a history of bad treatment of senior players; I see an isolated case of a captain being removed and the padding out of this 'larger' issue with the names you have thrown in.
  8. Junior is a 'track record'? We have had a history of treating our senior players too well, I would have thought. White, Robbo, and Yze not having that last year in and out of the side is not treating them badly. What the Saints did to Ball is bad treatment. Telling a bloke who is 31 that we won't give him another $300k for very little output is not bad treatment. I am all for re-signing Green , and I think he will, but I am a little bit annoyed at the hand-wringing around here about our media-driven (and former player driven thanks Russell and Adem) issue of Poor Stalwart Treatment ©.
  9. The match committee had to rate that mess, and they did. No votes, and a solemn pat on the back for Jordie. That's enough.
  10. I just meant in terms of a trade. Money should be no issue.
  11. No, that was 4 smashed desks... Schwab goes through a wholesaler. $320k well spent.
  12. You have got to be kidding me... That post was Chelly's attempt at humour. Scully wasn't there. Why would anyone think he would be there?
  13. Now hang on a second. This is a team sport. Do you really think Jordie effing McKenzie wants to hear about that game again? Because he was a lone hand? He wouldn't give a sh!t. That game was an embarrassment to him as much as they rest of the team and club because he is apart of the team and club. We lost by 30 goals. No votes awarded. Move on.
  14. Interesting to hear about Lyon and McLardy hitting the desk a few times... I would have been the same - "Mark, these boys need a effing coach (smash desk) not a mate. Your first meeting should be a short introduction and then a explanation of what horrors will await them if they don't harden up (smash desk). I don't care what Mike Sheahan thinks of us so fark the media (smash desk), I care that young Demons don't want to go to with their dads to the footy because we have been so [censored] embarrassing (smash desk)."
  15. It's easy to be a cynic, Mono but from all reports the guy is one of the best high performance mangers running around. And he did get Luke Ball into the shape that he was for the GF for the Saints a few years ago when he was phenomenal in a losing side... He's a great get.
  16. I would be after him in a big way. But get ready to pay through the nose unless Neeld can get him to say he wants to come to us...
  17. Two things: 1. He will not get a first round draft pick. Even if you believe he is worth it he is out of contract, wants to leave, and only played 4 games in 2011. 2. Those picks will not get near pick 1. We turned down Port Adelaide's offer of Picks 8 and 9 to keep pick 2 that was spent on Trengove. Picks in the top 5 are priceless and take more to get than a late first rounder and speculative picks in the 30s and 40s...
  18. Great to hear that the boys are intimidated. It's a good start. They should respect their coach. I couldn't care less if they liked him or not.
  19. lol Really? He better run that by Clarkson...
  20. He's 26 isn't he? Ask your boss why he isn't playing you. I firmly believe that the reason Warnock is so highly thought of by posters is because he didn't play much this year...
  21. It's a good question. And it's a reason why I wouldn't ask his 'peers' - well, those over 23... What right does Jared Rivers or Aaron Davey or Colin Sylvia have to judge the leadership of Jack Trengove?
  22. This is awkward - I wasn't talking about you... I was talking about my evil twin being more of those things than me.
  23. Haha, yeah. He's even more arrogant, egomaniacal, and dismissive. Hannabal with better comedy... I'm just kidding, H. I would have used an emoticon but I don't use emoticons...
  24. I guess my grave assessment can be considered 'sh!t.' He is all heart, and I love his attack on the footy and the man. But he struggles to hit targets and doesn't realise his limitations. He can become an effective role player, but if Neeld cannot turn him into a disciplined role player who is happy getting more tackles than touches, then he will find it difficult to get a game.
  25. I hope Moloney diplomatically tells Scully to get f..... 5) Some answers about what happened during the season, and hints as to why it wasn't the fault of Schwab - primarily because he is the only one to keep his position in the resultant shake-up. Or hints as to how the issues won't arise again.
