The red looks great Andy. Just on the Avatars. It's funny, I saw mine in my profile as soon as we moved but had trouble finding it, so I saved the picture from my profile onto my comp an then loaded it again. That makes sense trust me. Everyone has their avatar in their profile I would wager, if they 'save picture' onto their comp and reload it - all would be fine. So if you lost your avatar check your profile!

All things being equal? When are they? Does anyone here really believe that these three coaches that have been given jobs would have got them had they not come from Geel/Coll - Neeld, Geel/Ess (1 yr) - McCartney, and Geel - Sanderson?
-
Did I say that? Various things set people apart from others. He looks and sounds very self-assured, he has coach his own team, and he knows what Collingwood has put in place to accomplish the things they have accomplished. Which of those things is the most heartening for me to see as a supporter? The latter involvement with the best team in the land. And I dare say the coaching committee thought the same.

Please don't take me seriously, Andy. I would come on here and post if the colour sceme was purple and yellow. There is a reason it is the most visited fan site in the AFL. It's a tremedous site and really well run. Which at the minute has a fluro red band across the top...

You make the Footy Operations head sound like a party planner... There is a certain overlap and JCB's insinuation is correct - it doesn't bode well for CC.

Prediction - Moloney easily from Jones, Sylvia, Martin, Watts, Trengove, McKenzie, Garland, Gysberts, and Frawley. The last nine in no particular order. As an aside - I had trouble editing a post. Wouldn't do anything when I saved changes...
-
I'm not! But as I have little say I will go along with it. The red bar at the top is too fluro. I'm having an epileptic fit over here! Go for a darker red please, like the one from the old site.

Back to rumours please. Start a "Green is Good" thread on the Football forum people! I come to this thread to hear nonsense and wishful thinking!

We have so many NQR leaders... Jamar? Where has he been in LG discussions in the last few years? Nowhere. Obviously not a leader. We pounce on the one year Green was overlooked when he started the year injured (and fair enough - if you want to be a leader you can't pick and choose times) and Jamar is constantly overlooked. Says a great deal. Rivers? Love his courage but he doesn't scream leadership to me at all, in fact the only thing screaming some of the time is me, when I see his body language from time to time when the team is under the pump or he is down on form. Moloney? He is the closest thing we have to a captain from those older than 23. But his year has been pure Melbourne - good enough so that he will pick up the Bluey but just pathetic against better teams throughout the year. We need him the most and he goes missing. Anyway you phrase his poor performances against good teams - he hasn't stepped up. If my idea goes forward I think we will have a seven man leadership group consisting of Grimes, Trengove, Frawley, McKenzie, Watts, Garland, and Jones (or a smaller one with those names) and either Moloney as Captain or a few of the younger brigade sharing it.

This is going to take a while to get used to... Er, not a fan of the current but not finished I am guessing?
-
I don't think he is e25/KS/AB/GK. Could be wrong though. I agree that Aussie can play an important role in our forward line, wouldn't say the most important in the list though...

Got Chrome at home. IE at work.

Over-analyse the term all you like. The major reason Neeld is coaching the club is because he intimately knows the worklings of the Colligwood Footy Club. We need that IP.
-
To me - that is the issue. ND took us so far and we were top of the ladder in R18, 2004, only to finish 7th. Top 2 in R13, 2005 only to scrape in to the 8 and get smashed by Geelong. 3rd in R20, 2006 only to finish 5th. We could get to heights and never sustain them. Far more frustrating than the selfless act of rebuilding a playing list at your own detriment.
-
Another aspect of the talk of Neeld that I like (apart from the 'role based 22' that he has discussed) are the demands he has made - promises made to him over the FD personnel, and funding. I don't mind the fact that a person has said to us - "if you want me - do this", rather than the opposite. Schwab is right - the coach should be judged on his leadership, not on the sweet nothings he whispers about our list.

Wonna would have seen a lot less of the footy than Grimes being a small forward. They both have their assets, and they are different types of players. But a prevailing rule in footy is that in bad teams - it's impossible for a small forward to look good... He has explosive pace over 20m, good hands, decent footy IQ, and a very neat kick.
-
This is essentially what I said. LT are criticised unfairly but they cannot create, only facilitate what is already there.
-
Yeah, he is bold and vocal. Haven't seen much of the third one...
-
The 'squashing' (for the lack of a better term) into the middle will help our older posters. So that's good if you plan to keep it. Posters can go to the 'page' dropdown on IE and change their zoom settings - makes everything a little easier to read, although it is a bit blurry... Actually it's giving me a headache... I'm changing back...
-
This is hope-filled cynicism.
-
I get that. But we don't have a whole lot of players similar to Wonna. Grimes also has trouble staying on the park but I am ok keeping him going for a few years yet...
-
All players will stand up? I don't know about that... I want to see how we go with specific roles, that is the one thing I liked hearing the most over the weekend - Neeld talking about basing his 22 around 'roles' rather than players. I think we need that 'role based 22' at the Dees in a big way. Those that 'stand up' will be those that can do the role they are asked to do. It might not be who we think...
-
Because you need to broaden your horizons to get the senior gig. Look at Neeld - the guy had to do everything to get to where he is. Buckley and Hird can sweep in because they are legends of the game (or should that be club...).
-
He's taking the [censored], choko.

Get Cameron from the Hawks, and then someone from Geelong. Caracella or Sanderson? Then Sumich (Eagles of course) or Stone/Blakey from the Swans? I don't really know personalities or who would make a great forwards caoch, etc. But I do know who has the IP I want to steal...
