  1. Any more rumours people?
  2. Hasn't done himself any favours with his 'bruise free' footy, if we can take that term and get something useful out of it. But Bailey played him in strange and varied places and no-one was more pleased to get a fresh start I would guess. We will see how he is used. He is a talent and a good young bloke. I hope we can do something with him. For mine, he is THE challenge for our new and improved FD - Pick 4, great engine, good skills, height, good footy brain. Make something of him. With Cale's help of course...
  3. By my reckoning (with the help of footywire) he kicked 20 goals in games against Essendon (4), Fremantle (5), Richmond (3), Hawthorn (4), and Gold Coast (4). And then 17 goals in the other 16 games. And he only cracked 20 possies 3 times in 2011... But that isn't my gripe - we all know he can play good footy as his 2010 was superb (9 20+possie games, 9 three goal or more games), my gripe is with his pathetic body language and his seemingly lack of desire to do something as basic as the before game/half time rev up (Brent Moloney does it). And people may say "so what if he let's Brent do that?" and I would try to point out that in a team atmosphere like that, it is important for THE leader to be seen to be THE leader. Added to that is the embarrassing interviews after awful losses with nervous laughs and terrible little deflective jokes.
  4. This is like arguing which deckchair to sit in on the Titanic to listen to the band 'play on'... But I would have Bate's diffidence, 'continental drift'-like turning circle, and 'concrete' hands over Dunn's false bravado, jumper punching, and inconsistent effort.
  5. You don't agree... I said the exact opposite. I would spend both picks on one gun - whether they be a 23ish year old homesick star or one of these kids in the special draft. We have to try and make sure we replace the level of talent we lost with those comp picks.
  6. That's a win/win scenario right there. Jack Riewoldt would be great to have. But Frawley as a decade long AA level FB is just as good. And I reckon he has better intangibles - leadership, body language, heart. So I'm happy.
  7. Really looking forward to his career. Great head on his shoulders. Start of 2013 and our best mids will probably be Trengove, McKenzie, Gysberts, Viney, and Bail. Maybe Moloney ahead of Bail... Brave new world...
  8. Puts us in a good spot if we want one of those kids. I think we should do it, if there is no 23ish year old out there that wants to leave. Spend the comp picks on one gun kid.
  9. Clubs will put up their 'bids' and GWS will accept a number and the order and the clubs can then decide whether winning Pick 3 is worth the price. This is how I see it working.
  10. Morton just re-signed, he is not about to be traded.
  11. Good to hear. I have been told that he told the boys "I am going to get you fit, get you tougher, and give you a gameplan." Pointed remarks. Good start.
  12. I really wish people to would listen to the whole of a conversation they are late for than pick every thing they hear as if it is in real time. It's a podcast, Lutz. You are replying to a podcast.

    Pick 12

Exclamation points lose their impact if overused!! Well, you asked for opinions...
  14. Jokers all 'round really...
  15. I didn't realise there are effectively two drafts with two different pools of 17 year olds if GWS don't accept all 4 trades this trade week. Makes more sense now. I wonder how clubs will try to gazump each other to get a pick or the number 1 pick? Will we see extra steak knives added on in the auction like atmosphere?
  16. Yes, I know!! What I am saying is that what 'picks' will be handed out this trade week? Picks 1 and 2? How can that be when the Picks are judged on the value of the trade. They may be superceded next trade week. And the teams that get supereceded might have thought it not great that they get the 4th pick and they also may think it would have been best to wait until next trade week to try and get Pick 1. I repeat - What incentive is there for clubs to negotiate this trade week? Very little from what I can see.
  17. The difference being is that South Fremantle fans became Weagle supporters. Tassie already supported the VFL teams and have carried that through. For possibly proximity reasons, they followed the VFL and therefore there is little growth for 'new' AFL support down there.
  18. Joke of an offer it was and still is.
  19. 1 more thing - how can a club be given Pick 2 for example if there are two picks to be 'awarded' next trade week? Suddenly Pick 2 becomes Pick 4 and Prendergast has an apopleptic fit as he is pushed down two places. What incentive is there for clubs do get this done this trade week if they can be gazumped a year later?
  20. He's not a big fan of you, either... All I'm saying is: at the Demonland - MFC Player mixer, I think that DemonWA and Nathan should be kept seperate. Freak should run interference possibly...
  21. I am still not certain how all this works at the edges... They have two trade weeks to get these deals done. How do they judge the best deal, the second best deal, etc? Who is doing the judgement exactly? Answer me these questions people. And don't give me links, I have read the links. I want the truth!
  22. He's a development coach. What does Todd Viney do as "General Manager - Player Development & Strategy"?
  23. Yes they do. I don't know who does the 'ordering' based on the accepted trades though. The AFL or GWS? Both? The comission?
