Why are we finalising the second last player on the primary list in July of the previous year? I just don't see why this had to happen now.
  2. So we are NOT who we thought we were... We are a bunch of frontrunners and we are wasting a lot of talent and a year where the comp is very open. The Goodwin Questions remain.

I highly doubt there is much brains to that auto-fill, guys... I wouldn't worry about that. And if we go 5 and 4 from here - we aren't the team we thought we were so who gives a rip if we do or don't make finals... We should win the next 3 and go to Mordor the next week a bit bullish. Adel over there doesn't scare me, GC we should destroy, Syd at the G will be the biggest win since '06 and we have a chance, WCE over there will be tough but we should be looking to beat GWS on our deck in the last round. We should at least go 6 and 3 IF we are who we think we are... PS. It is pure MFCSS to have us dropping gimmie games but every other club in the league not...

$600k is not going to do it... The cap is $12.8m next year. $600k is not big anymore.

It's all about image with the AFL - Bugg gets 6 because a young blonde kid copped a roundhouse. This was more complex to the layman but far more dangerous and recklessly intentional and he gets a week less... Disappointing.
  6. If we lose to one of WB, StK, Freo, GC, or GWS - THAT will cost us a finals place. But if we lose one of them and don't knock of at least one of Geel, WCE, Syd, or Adel - then we aren't as good as we all thought we were.

I would love to see some smarter entry into the forward line and against an inferior side like the Saints our front running ways will help us get some goals that we just won't get against teams with a semblance of a structural defence. Tyson wasn't great but does he get another week? Does Weed come in now or in a few weeks time. He is our second best ruck from what I have seen so that makes the inevitable easier to deal with even if he is providing much as a third tall. As an aside, the fact that he can be a third tall is a great introduction for him to this team. I wish we could find a place for Garlett - he is such a natural forward to feed off our talls. I would hope he is a part of the 22 come late August...

I will be impressed when he gets 10 weeks and doesn’t fight it at the tribunal.

In time. Through acts of contrition and changed behaviour. He deserves what he is getting right now - that was horrendous and with an intent to hurt Andrews. But instead of a knee in his kidneys he chose an elbow to his head and put his future in danger. The last thing I care about is Cameron’s repu-effing-tation.

I’m with WYL. He knew the damage he could inflict and he didn’t care. Rest of the season.

This is pure MFCSS. ... ...doesn't mean you're not onto something...

If we are who we think we are - we will win the the next three games. We played very well against PA - a very good team - but didn't make great decisions moving into the forward line. I have 6 teams (2nd thru 7th) on 11 and 5 after Round 17 is done... We would be up to two games and percentage in the 8. It would be tight but we just have to get there.
  13. Has a team ever won the Inside 50 count by 20 and had more Inside 50s than their score?

    Different boys club?
  15. Well, I like the Ins. Smith moves more than Pedo and Tyson is a ball winner and this midfield needs to get the ball.

I know. But some of you are searching for reason where there is none. He refuses to be sensible and that is his choice - not much we can do to change it when he does it so willfully.

I’m in IT and here we have this fantastic feature allowing sane posters to ignore those not so fortunate and most are not using it... So frustrating!

In a vacuum - this looks a great appointment. The Jackson shadow looms large because of his success and the promotion of his commandants to his throne. My only concern is that Pert comes in and realises the success of the previous admin and doesn’t think to stamp his authority in the wrong ways. As for those that were overlooked - they can see this as an opportunity to learn under a great operator or they should look beyond from October.

What you just quoted sounds churlish. Who wrote that? Rawlings?
  21. You know we haven't 'stuffed' up yet, right? So you're astonishment is somewhat misplaced... I helped coined the term 'MFC Supporter Syndrome' and knew that different forms of it would follow as we got better but this is ridiculous. 10 rounds to go, champ. Hope your nerves can handle it.

I saw that as an oversight - I watched a bit of that game on 7 Plus and Tyson was getting it at will and hitting targets. If it isn't an oversight then I have an even bigger issue with the FD. It would be petty to leave him out of the bests because he wasn't the best version of himself even when being the best player on the field.

The thrust of my criticism of him being 'exited' was to do with the false narrative that with him leaving means the vanishing of what he represented - that certainly isn't the case just yet... And my other objection was the minor aside that we would be losing what we lack - outside delivery, with that said Fritsch is providing as much of that that Jack ever provided. I never thought he would excel anywhere else, so this doesn't surprise me. I am sure they will give him another chance - they won't cut the cord just yet.

I know the argument and I am as adamant as you are about the type of player we have to target in the summer but right now Tyson looks like providing something more than a Harmes/ANB/Hannan on the fringes of that midfield and they need to be held accountable when they play poorly. Personally, I would throw Tyson in there and turn the game into a 'little' bit of a one-on-one sh!tfight until we get our mojo back with Gawn. No trying to be too pretty with our clearances out the back and to the side and just get it forward to our outstanding tall forwards to scare the hell out of that Port backline.
  25. The closest thing we have had to a 'Big Game' that we have won in the last few years was the StK game last year that snuffed out them and kept us going but that was snuffed out of existence as a big game when we were exposed against Coll a few weeks later, and when the players were revealed to be asking the Saints players where they were going for their September holidays - talk about drinking your own bath water... A 'Big Game' I want to see us win is a game that will show us to be more than just a team making up the numbers in this league. This next game is the first opportunity to arrive, I know they can do it, but I no reason to faith they will. And I won't until they do it and then do it again, and then do it again...
