  1. Just ordered my copy. Hope it comes quick, I need a new book to read for pleasure instead of work!
  2. From 2014, 2015 and 2016. From the days when Melbourne were pretty crap.
  3. And believe it or not I have a 12" single version of Come on Demons that's been autographed by the great man himself, Jimmy Stynes.
  4. It's not in Darwin, it's in Alice Springs. Personally I love the fact the club has developed such close ties with the Santa Teresa community, it reminds us that as a not for profit organisation there are commitments to the community being met.
  5. 45 rpm I've kept all my vinyl from my wayward 80s teenage years, including LPs, EPs, 12" and 7" singles.
  6. That’s Ryan, we think he’s a legend, too. And he is. He and Sophie run the cheer squad.
  7. A whole year of banner making, love it!!
  8. Given the spirit of the OP and a couple of others posting on this thread, I thought I’d post this as a way of showing how other cheer squads see us in the Demon Army. If our own supporters don’t see our value at least other supporters do…
  9. What I loved about last night - it was clearly a statement win. Not only for the rest of the league but also for Melbourne. Yes, we started the year with 10 straight wins, but apart from the GWS game, none of them were what I would call Melbourne in its form. They looked like they were coasting, barely getting out of second gear. I wasn't necessarily worried, though because it's a long season, and it needs to be treated like a marathon, not a sprint. Then we lost to Freo. Again, not worried, it was the loss the team needed to have, as a reality check. The Sydney loss, though, was frustrating, because they could have played so much better. The Collingwood game? That one left me despondent. But last night was a return to the form of 2021. They didn't just win, they crushed. That was a statement win.
  10. I noticed on Twitter last night there were Herald Sun journos whipping up a frenzy amongst the Collingwood/Richmond/Carlton bogans about "low crowd". We nearly doubled Richmond's crowd against Port Adelaide, and still they're sinking the slipper. I've had a look at the crowds on Thursday nights this year, last night's crowd was the third highest this year, the two games beating last night being the two Richmond v Carlton game. It was also the largest Thursday night crowd involving an interstate team. In short I'm at the stage of saying suck [censored], media.
  11. So you don't have a problem with him pulling down a woman's top? I'm not convinced it was consensual at the time, given her reaction in the video.
  12. Yeh, how dare people be offended by misogyny and representations of objectification of women. I mean, are you serious? This guy has had a past history of charges against him for sexual abuse, harassment, etc, are you trying to say you have no problem with that?
  13. No shueys when we win the grand final, either!
  14. If you had a choice between Darling and Jackson, what would you choose? I can't see Melbourne accepting any of those options.
  15. Melbourne's price is going to be high. Does either WCE or Freo have the currency? Does Freo have room in their salary cap? All valid questions.
  16. I don't care who it is. We show them we're better than them by not lowering to their standards. I don't boo at the football. And no, the cheer squad don't boo when they're lining up for a goal, we make noises and wave flags and floggers to try to distract.
  17. I don't boo at the football. I choose not to lower myself to nuftie level. And yes, I'm a member of the cheer squad. We're better than those idiots.
  18. I actually had a nuftie Collingwood supporter try to convince me on social media that it was actually Melbourne fans booing Oliver. WTF??? But you're right, they are a special breed of filth.
  19. My question is, why would WCE want to sacrifice what would essentially be a range of early round draft pics to get Jackson, when it would mean sacrificing a rebuilt of the team? Melbourne would want a fair bit of compensation for Dogga, which I'm not convince WCE would be in a position to give up, given the dire state of their list.
  20. Yeh, they look like they really hate each other, don't they!! In all seriousness, can't wait to see how Disco goes!! That video is awesome, love it.
  21. Our crowds have increased, actually. But never mind facts getting in the way of your gripe. Are you really a Melbourne supporter or someone who just wants to pick [censored] regardless of the facts? Melbourne are averaging around 36,000 per game this year, putting us 5th on the tally of attendance, and is certainly an increase in attendance from previous recent years. The four clubs above us on the tally have significantly more members than Melbourne. If you were to look at attendance per membership, Melbourne is actually on top. By the way I have been to all games this year bar two, the Port Adelaide game in Adelaide and the West Coast Eagles game in Perth. So don't assume anything about whether I'm going to the games or not. But while we're at it, let's address some of your points: a) And? Our attendance is increased, as has our membership. b) Again, pro rata to our membership, supporters have increased. c) That's crap, our attendance has increased. d) How are they different to any other clubs for their non-attendance? Attendance is low across the whole board. e) How is rain not a pathetic excuse for Hawthorn/Collingwood if you say it's pathetic for Melbourne? It rained on Saturday night, and it was 4 degrees. Double standards much? f) Essendon have about 30,000 more members than Melbourne. Strange argument. g) Huh? I've been at all the Melbourne based games, and the Gold Coast game where we outnumbered GCS supporters. What am I supposed to be defending myself against? h) WTF are you on about??? i) We are there to support. You're clearly not, you're picking [censored] at other supporters. j) That's been the case for 30 years, what's your point? Where have I ever used that as an "excuse"? Perhaps get off your high horse and stop being a [censored].
  22. I'm a little bit tired of people criticising Melbourne's attendance.
  23. really beautiful. I managed to get myself the Narrm scarf, beanie, hoodie and pins. Very happy with my Narrm merch!
