  1. It was a week after Easter this year, also during the school holidays. As a teacher it worked out well for me.
  2. Katrina Dee Fan replied to a post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
A friend of mine who is now on the committee of Coterie was in the cheer squad in the 60s and 70s, he said he has one of those large banners at his house, and he said it went half way around the old southern stand. I'd love to see it!
  3. Last year I had a similar comment from a Collingwood supporter. My response was "Well, I would have come earlier today, but I had teeth to brush. See how stereotypes work?"
  4. Final or grand final? Last final we played against them was probably the 1989 elimination final, where we won. Last GF would be 1964.
  5. Does that explain Noble's brainfade of forgetting to bounce the ball?
  6. And the thing is, so many Melbourne supporters, including my late father, was massively haunted by the bloodbath of 1958.
  7. I heard Moore broke a fingernail and suffered split ends
  8. Last year after the game and I queued for the toilets behind the cheer squad bay, I had Collingwood supporters jumping, yelling, one jumped in my face "Go home, Dees!" and I felt like saying to him, "We are home, it's been our home since 1858", but I didn't. Just wasn't in the mood. This year, totally different affair. Queued for the toilet, and engaged in a very pleasant conversation with a Pies supporter in front of me who said, "you guys deserved to win that". We discussed who could play each other in the finals and agreed it would be cool if it was Melbourne and Collingwood. Afterwards she said to me, "Thank you for being so nice, we don't often get that."
  9. https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSL6MJsda/ just a little something I put together for the Demon Army TikTok :)
  10. I'm about to chuck a tanty. How the hell was McVee not nominated for Rising Star this round based on that game? Are they serious??? What more does the kid have to do?
  11. That's my experience, too. Everyone has friends who are Collingwood supporters (inevitable, I guess, coz there's just so many of them), none of them behave in this manner.
  12. Two conversations I had with Collingwood supporters while near the slide before I went back to the safe haven of the Demon Army: First Collingwood supporter. CS (looking at me with venom in his eyes) - "I hate Melbourne" Me (smiling, shrugging) - "That's okay, I hate Collingwood." CS - "You haven't beaten us in 3 years." Me (smiling) - "That's okay, you haven't won a premiership in 13 years." Later on as the team is announced, he booed Brodie. Me - "What are you booing him for? He wanted to stay at your club." His friend replied to him, "Yeah, that was pretty stupid." Collingwood supporter 2 We were pretty crowded around the slide, and I was keeping an eye on my 12 year old nephew, who accidentally hit someone in the head with his flagpole and apologised straight away. CS - "He's only a Melbourne supporter, he can be chucked out." Me (turning into protective Auntie mode) - "Really? He's 12! Besides it's our home game, and as a member he has as much right than anyone to be here." CS - screamed in my face that I'm a "f&*%ing arrogant entitled Melbourne supporter". Because I was protecting a child from an adult bully.
  13. And in Part 2 of the bad Twilight Zone episode, something I never thought I'd ever hear a Collingwood supporter say: "on a shocking side note, I don’t think the umpiring affected the result yesterday! Don’t think there was anything terribly notable." WTH is going on!!! I though something was a bit off with them when we never heard that "USA! USA!" chant after quarter time :)
  14. I just saw this on BF. I swear I have to check if I'm in the middle of some bad episode of Twilight Zone...🤣 "Well I was thinking it might end up with me setting up a GoFundMe page, if only I was taller and stronger. Had this terrible Melbourne supporter (4 of them but one was really a nutcase) in front of me who was already half under the weather before the game and after 6 cans was getting worse. Turning around really in my face and although none of you know me I hardly yell at the footy, too involved in who is playing where and the tactics of the game. Would stand up and yell things like, the premiership is not played in June, colliwobbles (sigh), losers, we are the champions and more that I can't remember. I was so ready to respond but only to told him to sit down as I couldn't see and also my grand-daughter told me not to respond. I so hate Melbourne, have never been to a game against them when I haven't had those type of supporters around me."
  15. I know, and I looked on in jealousy!!! I may have to suck up to Rivs :)
  16. I want my footy, damnit!!!!
  17. Umm...I'm 52. Nothing stops me getting involved :)
  18. A joke I was told about 30 years ago: What's the difference between a dead pig in the middle of the road and a dead Collingwood supporter in the middle of the road? The skid marks in front of the pig.
  19. I'll just leave this here https://fb.watch/l0VOHypxEO/
  20. I want to win just so I can play this song really loudly on the train home. Even bring my Bluetooth speaker along with me!
  21. Oh, please, please please please please!!!
  22. They'll need a dictionary. If they can read one!
  23. This thread has certainly reaffirmed my sheer, utter, unadulterated, visceral hatred for that putrid club and that subhuman primordial soup of a species they call “Collingwood supporters”. I know that at times we don’t all get along with each other in Demonland, but at least this is something we all agree with!! Ah, I feel purged.
