Best Melbourne 22 Seen In Your Time
I was in two minds about Ingerson, he was a great player. As I was doing my list I realised, that in my time, I have never seen a truly great CHB.

Suburban AFL map
My parents weren't really into the footy, Dad nominally followed the Hawks and Mum was a Dee's fan, due to her Dad being a keen Melbourne supporter. I think at about 4 years of age I found a North Melbourne medallion at school, and I loved the Kangaroo symbol, and declared myself a North supporter. i proudly showed my Grampa, who i think was mortified. My older brother had chosen Richmond, and my sister had sold her soul to Hawthorn. I reckon my Grampa sensed he wouldn't have a grandchild who followed the Dee's, so on my next birthday my present was a Melbourne jumper, and that began my journey as a Demon. All my siblings kids (except for my older brothers kids) received a red and blue jumper for their 1st birthday, so I am continuing a long tradition.

Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years
I have often wondered how much the lockdowns in Melbourne affected some of the younger players. Kozzy, Riv and LJ all came over just before we went into endless lockdown, and never really got to see what Melbourne was like pre-pandemic. At that age it is peak social life, but they missed it all.

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs Brisbane
i agree with you on most points, but the it feels like our team structure is built around having two ruckman in the side. Take one man out of it and we go to water. I reckon Schache might get a look in next week if he plays well. The real worry for me is that we don't have someone waiting in the wings to take on the ruck duties when Gawn and Grundy retire. Verrall and Farris-White are speculative at best.

VOTES: Rd 02 vs Brisbane
6 - Lever 5 - BBB 4 - Grundy (he has copped a fair but on here, but we would have been humiliated if he wasn't playing) 3 - Oliver 2 - Hunter 1 - Fritsch Oliver and Hunter really only in the votes because of their last quarter efforts. Oliver was the spark in the last 12 minutes. I recall someone saying earlier in the week that Oliver wasn't a game changer, his efforts when they came back on after the blackout put to bed that argument.

Ticketing 2023
It would be worth you taking a break from posting while you are on the p**s.

Ticketing 2023
Yeah, I hear ya. It would be worth calling the membership hotline and seeing where it is.

Ticketing 2023
Did you register? I hd no idea you had to register, but luckily I read on here that you need to opt in to get the pack. I called them last week to opt in, and apparently it is on the way, although the recorded message says 4 to 6 weeks. I tried to download the tickets via the app, but kept getting an error. I tried logging into the club website, but it wasn't recognising my password. I tried resetting my password, but I was not getting the password reset email. I was pretty p**d off by that stage and called the membership hotline, and they tell me that my issues were due to me being set to do not solicit. Now I can't remember doing that, but do not solicit means no marketing emails. I did not get the email telling me I had to register to get the pack, I was not able to access my account on the club website or change my password, and most importantly I was not able to access game day tickets. Absolute madness, paying for a premium membership and not being able to go the footy because I was set to do not solicit.

Music after goals
I suggest they play "You'll never walk alone" after a goal. We could hand out pamphlets with the lyrics before the game.

Although, maybe you are onto something.

Jack Ginnivan admits drug use
Great thread. I haven’t had time to read it all, so apologies if this has already been said. As far as I am concerned our drug laws need a complete overhaul, in particular with respect to cannabis use. Yes, there can be a detrimental impact, I have seen it firsthand, but I have seen far worse from alcohol. Domestic violence and alcohol abuse seem to go hand in hand. In Ginnivan’s case, it is more than likely there is a clause in his contract about the use of drugs. Similar to mining companies, where if you test positive to drugs it is instant dismissal, and I recall drug testing was quite common (not sure if this is still the case). In some ways, football players get off lightly compared to other Australian employees. I am not saying the policy is correct, but it is the policy they sign up to. If you do the crime you do the time. That said, the public hounding he is getting reeks of hypocrisy given that alcoholic benders seem to be celebrated.

How the Demons Hope to Bounce Back
It felt a little like that for most of the second half of the season.

Dees Under the Microscope
Interesting that Richardson said that van Rooyen was unlikely to debut in the round 1.

Robbie Flower 8 years!
He was my only comeback to the kids I went to school with in the 70’s and 80’s, when they gave me sh&! for being a Dee’s supporter. The greatest Demon I have witnessed play.
