Not blaming the crowd or the cheer squad. It was just a weird vibe given it was our first final at home since 2018.
-
Does anyone know the crowd size tonight ? Was it just me, or was there a lack of atmosphere at the game? The crowd roused slightly when we kicked 3 on the trot, but that was it. A bit disappointing really.

Nah, it was Ebola.

I was kidding. I am in M56. It would suck if that’s the seat you bought though.
-
Correct. It’s easier to get to Sydney

My seat 😢

Unfortuntely there are no votes in it for any government.

Very ‘Geelong’ like.

Just write him out of the will. I knew a mad Collingwood supporter who reckoned our club song was the best. I remember at my year seven school camp, myself, my PE teacher (Mark McKeon who played a handful of games for the Dees) and the only other Melbourne supporter in in Year 7 sang the club song at the camp concert. Fair to say it was greeted with stony silence by the audience, although it was 1981 and most of the crowd had probably never heard it before.

Yeah, I kind of agree. He probably loves Perth and would love to be with his family. Who in their right mind wouldn’t accept big $ if offered, and the sweetener was to go back home. Besides, he already has one flag under his belt, something most AFL players will never achieve. 3 years of footy in a pandemic may not have given him the opportunity to form an attachment to Melbourne, and develop relationships outside of the club. And the bottom line is, not everyone likes living in Melbourne. I didn’t, that’s why I moved.

Load me up baby, it’s coming home again. -
Arguably medicine tastes better.

I think it’s great. He will consign them to another 5 years of misery and mediocrity.

Well that’s true, but then we had Barassi to the Dees. Arguably he set us up for the Northey years, but that may well be revisionism. Hiring coaches who have had their time in the sun often turns out poorly.
-
All I would say to North is beware of false prophets. Blight, Pagan and Malthouse comes to mind.
-
We should win by 3-4 goals then.

She will probably be a Bombers supporter.
-
And a fast walker.
-
Yeah true, but I was talking about the crowd, and there was no crowd at that game.
-
Yeah, I have lurked on DL for years, but the collective self flagellation after a loss (worse after a win at times) put me off from joining.

Just got back. What a game! Melk is a lock for the finals. Gawn was immense. Petty is already a superstar. I haven't witnessed the scenes of joy around me, after Kozzie kicked the goal, since beating Geelong in the EF in 2018.

I don't mind, as long as we are winning. I had a really annoying one sitting right behind me, but I wasn't compelled to complain to the club.

You are making assumptions about who buys a premium membership each year. You are also making assumptions about why people choose to have a reserved seat. I don’t have connections to buy a corporate package and I would suggest many others don’t either.
