  1. If you mean Jonathan Brown then I was thinking the same thing. It is notable that Brown seems to talk him up a fair bit. I suspect he see's a bit of himself in the way he plays.
  2. In addition to that he has a cool head, he is a pretty good kick and more often than not he makes the correct decision when he has the ball in hand.
  3. How many souls do you actually have to sell?
  4. Never in doubt! 👏 The difference in how our club is run now from 10 years ago makes my heart skip a beat.
  5. Maybe, but we are hardly setting the world on fire at the moment, and we need to build some momentum.
  6. Managing players for a game against a supposed lesser opponent smacks of arrogance. We need to bank as many wins as we can over the next few weeks.
  7. With Richmond supporters. Your sacrifice is real.
  8. Agreed, it was a tough decision. The way I looked at it was, would I find a place in the side for the players from different era’s? That said, there is no guarantee that players from other eras would excel in the modern game, with the exception of Robbie perhaps.
  9. How did it go No10? I am away from 6 weeks from Anzac eve in Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore? I don't particularly want to pay fro Watch AFL given I am already paying for Kayo.
  10. 6. Grundy 5 Viney 4. Oliver 3. Hunter 3. TMac 2. Fritsch 1. ANB
  11. I was in two minds about Ingerson, he was a great player. As I was doing my list I realised, that in my time, I have never seen a truly great CHB.
  12. This was a challenging exercise so i included my full list Graeme Yeats Steven May Steven Febey Jake Lever David Neitz Brett Lovett Stephen Tingay Todd Viney Robbie Flower Bayley Fritsch Gary Lyon Russell Robertson Kysaiah Pickett Brad Green Jeff Farmer Max Gawn Clayton Oliver Christian Petracca Jimmy Stynes Matthew Whelan Aaron Davey Adem Yze Alan Johnson Brian Wilson Peter Moore Sean Wight Stephen Stretch Andrew Obst David Schwarz Alan jakovich Sean Charles James McDonald Travis Johnstone Jeff White Nathan Jones Rod Grinter
  13. My parents weren't really into the footy, Dad nominally followed the Hawks and Mum was a Dee's fan, due to her Dad being a keen Melbourne supporter. I think at about 4 years of age I found a North Melbourne medallion at school, and I loved the Kangaroo symbol, and declared myself a North supporter. i proudly showed my Grampa, who i think was mortified. My older brother had chosen Richmond, and my sister had sold her soul to Hawthorn. I reckon my Grampa sensed he wouldn't have a grandchild who followed the Dee's, so on my next birthday my present was a Melbourne jumper, and that began my journey as a Demon. All my siblings kids (except for my older brothers kids) received a red and blue jumper for their 1st birthday, so I am continuing a long tradition.
  14. I have often wondered how much the lockdowns in Melbourne affected some of the younger players. Kozzy, Riv and LJ all came over just before we went into endless lockdown, and never really got to see what Melbourne was like pre-pandemic. At that age it is peak social life, but they missed it all.
  15. 6. Oliver 5. Grundy 4. Hunter 3. Langdon. 2. Chandler 1. Spargo
  16. Spargo and Chandler. You couldn’t ask for much more from your small forwards. What a win!
  17. i agree with you on most points, but the it feels like our team structure is built around having two ruckman in the side. Take one man out of it and we go to water. I reckon Schache might get a look in next week if he plays well. The real worry for me is that we don't have someone waiting in the wings to take on the ruck duties when Gawn and Grundy retire. Verrall and Farris-White are speculative at best.
  18. 6 - Lever 5 - BBB 4 - Grundy (he has copped a fair but on here, but we would have been humiliated if he wasn't playing) 3 - Oliver 2 - Hunter 1 - Fritsch Oliver and Hunter really only in the votes because of their last quarter efforts. Oliver was the spark in the last 12 minutes. I recall someone saying earlier in the week that Oliver wasn't a game changer, his efforts when they came back on after the blackout put to bed that argument.
  19. Actually, i was wrong, i just watched all the goals, and it was Ben Brown.
  20. Was impressed by the noise the crowd made last night. We didn't need the embarrassing make some noise snippets that come up on the big screen that we used in last years finals.
  21. I reckon we could have one a few of the close games we lost last year if we had Melky as the super sub.
  22. When the ball is kicked to congestion and TMac is there, and doesn't mark it, he at least creates something for the crumbers. I need to go back and watch the replay but he was instrumental in at least one goal last night when he bullocked his way through the pack.
  23. We have coach replacements from Gisborne. If i leave at 4:30PM and then walk from Southern Cross station, I should arrive at 3 quarter time.
