  1. Good with a soccer ball apparently.
  2. The current team is better than any of the teams these marquee players played in. We have the nucleus.
  3. Barrett’s take is probably the dumbest yet. We signed up a generational talent on a multi million dollar deal for 9 years to avoid negative PR. I am not sure he realises how stupid this is.
  4. Maybe it’s my MFCSS, but the long term contract feels like the new Norm Smith curse.
  5. He looks as relaxed as he as ever been on the footy field. He know's these are his twilight years, and it seems like he is going to make the most of his opportunities and have fun doing so. He is an astute reader of the game. We are lucky to have him at the club, showing the other forwards how it should be done. Long may his form continue.
  6. Interestingly, both Langford and Lindsay have seemed to fit in seamlessly. I wonder if it is because they haven’t been exposed to the old game plan.
  7. It would have been a 50 minute last quarter.
  8. Then surely he also co-opted losing our next 4 finals.
  9. Was it Goody who said he loves what the players are doing off the ball? For those who are bagging out Spargo, perhaps it is what he does off the ball, as opposed to his possessions. Jeff Whites analysis showed how important is that players are setting up when they don’t have the footy, particularly defensively. Maybe Spargo does this better than most. In the last month the game plan seems to be bearing fruit. Could Spargo be a shining example of how they should be setting up? Is this the reason why he is being picked? I don’t pretend to have the answers, but being picked because he is a Goodwin favourite seems unlikely.
  10. I loved it. My biggest takeaway from this sort of analysis is the new game plan and how difficult it must be to get all the players on the same page . I mean it sounds so simple, we have a new way of playing, how difficult can it be? The reality is much more complex, and I can see why it has taken awhile for the players to transition from what they have been trained to play for the last 6 years.
  11. I’m not one for bringing guns to the footy, but there is a time and a place.
  12. In their pregame huddle, Andrew’s was giving his pep talk. You could see some of their players laughing. All I could think was you arrogant %%{}!.
  13. Poor Chandler.
  14. Loved Melk's game, he is like a fine wine, just gets better with age. Also really impressed with Sparrow and Chin. Both solid and damaging contributors. Clarrie is building I reckon. His handballing in the last three weeks is like the Clarrie of old. I really like Sharp and the enthusiasm he brings, but he has the composure of a rabbit on acid. Goody coached very well today. Go Dee's!
  15. A government who has provided substantial financial assistance to a club has every right to comment on the conduct of that club.
  16. The other pleasing thing about the last quarter was they didn’t go onto their shell. They still took risks, they still moved the ball fast and picked their targets. Goal kicking could improve, but our movement of the ball into the forward line was consistent all game.
  17. This aged well.
  18. What was his excuse at Essendon?
  19. Someone has been reading the game day threads.
  20. My wife was a late out (on the day of the final ) for the final against Carlton in 2023, so I offered a French girl from work the spare ticket. I sent her this link which she found very helpful.
  21. We could have used some effective wingers yesterday.
  22. I’m surprised that they remembered the words.
  23. You definitely retain your seat. Every year I vow to change our seats, but I never do. I am right on the drip line, and the afternoon sun makes it tough to see, but I like the people around me.
  24. Chandler has copped a fair bit of criticism, a little unfairly in my opinion. I thought Chandler had a pretty good game. He isn't going anywhere next week.
