  1. Good news with Short out. He's the type of bloke that can kick three 50 metre goals in a game while playing half back flank. Richmond have a 5 day break into next Friday night so the club may have deemed that the break was too Short to play him on Sunday and the player in question may have been Short of a gallop.
  2. I would've gone Dunstan as well but given Harmes is on the extended bench he may be the replacement for Sparrow.
  3. Hope the midfield doesn’t miss Sparrow too much. We’ve lost the only game he’s missed V Port. Harmes to replace him if we’re going like for like, although his senior appearances have been terrible this year. But as they say if you throw a bunch of darts at a board, one is eventually going to land. Glad Tomlinson got another game. We’ve won our last 14 games in a row with the May/Lever/Tomo combo dating back to the last 2 games of 2020. I know the boys on the DL podcast say that May and Lever prefer Petty over Tomo but the raw win/loss stat suggests that this combo works.
  4. Happy with that option. However the AFL love to create an exciting final round Sunday so they might leave Carlton V GWS for Sunday. Agreed that St Kilda should not be on Friday night, and my choice was contingent on them still being relevant by round 24. The networks would like Brisbane on Friday night due to their offensive brand of footy (most weeks). Perhaps Dons V Pies for Friday night, especially if Essendon are still relevant. And yep, there's no timeslot bad enough to show the WCE v Adel game.
  5. Here is my round 24 crack. Friday night 7:50pm Brisbane V St Kilda - Prime time Friday night with St Kilda possibly facing a "win and in" Saturday 1:45pm games (Saturday games have become a bit of a grave yard slot so I'll put the inconsequential games here) Hawthorn V Fremantle North V Gold Coast Saturday 4:05/4:35pm Port V Richmond - Stand alone game with Richmond possibly facing a "win and in" Saturday night - 7:25pm Geelong V Bulldogs - home finals or top 8 at stake for these two sides demand Ch 7 prime time. Sydney V Melbourne - Would have made this ch 7 prime time but it's now uncertain if this is Buddy's SCG farewell. Sunday 12:40 Essendon V Collingwood - Something a bit different. If Essendon are out of business then I'm putting this game on Foxtel. The crowds will still flock for an early arvo game and I want Carlton V GWS to be stand alone. Sunday 3:20 Carlton V GWS - prime time Sunday arvo Ch 7 time slot for what appears to be a "win and in" game for either side. What an exciting finale. Sunday 6:10/4:10 West Coast V Adelaide - Likely to be inconsequential so happy to have this as a late game to give Carlton V GWS all the attention. Still early enough for Perth locals at 4:10pm.
  6. I don't know how rock solid Drew Jones (Fox Sports) is as a journo but he was adamant on SEN last night that the round 24 game against Sydney will be Saturday night.
  7. Kicked a ripping goal against us in the 2022 Qual final. Fairly sure he'll make the grade.
  8. That's what I'm thinking with Oliver.
  9. It's not a 100% certainty that the round 24 game will be Buddy's farewell game like we assumed it would be. Apparently Buddy now wants to play on and it's up to Sydney on whether they want to give him an extra year.
  10. Agreed with all that, but this could be the AFL's opportunity to help North out in a major way. Hope I'm wrong.
  11. If Ben McKay leaves North, would they not get pick 3 as free agency compo? The pick after their pick 2. It's no different to us receiving pick 3 for Frawley in 2014.
  12. I have no issue if he stays in the side for the rest of the year. We are undefeated since round 1 2021 with the May/Lever/Tomo combo. Yes you didn't read that incorrectly. Undefeated. Can we trust Petty to get through a final without getting injured? He's definitely one of the more injury prone players on our list. With that being said, I think it's pretty obvious that Petty will be replacing Tomlinson at the earliest chance.
  13. Well done to Kozzie. Gone from a 4 possession game to equal BOG in the space of a fortnight. Kozzie hitting form can only be a good thing as we head into finals.
  14. Did anyone else see the topic and thought his hammy had blown up again? Anyway, Yze sounded really confident on radio that he's on the right path and will playing games within 2-3 weeks. (I've learnt not to hang off every word Goodwin says in his interviews) If he can get the last 3 games in before finals, then that would be a good result. Even better if we can knock off Richmond without him.
  15. Top 4's looking good. We can actually sneak into the top 4 by only beating North and Hawthorn if all of the following very possible events occur: 1) Collingwood beat Carlton 2) Collingwood beat Geelong 3) Dogs or Carlton or Port beat GWS which are all away games. 4) Brisbane or Richmond or Geelong beat St Kilda 5) Port or Dogs beat Richmond 6) Geelong beat Dogs in Geelong But who wants to limp into finals losing to all of Richmond, Carlton and Sydney? Beating Richmond next week will almost seal the deal. Unfortunately Brisbane are looking good for top 2 if they can won one more than Port. They have a good run home aside from Collingwood at Marvel.
  16. Yze says North. Goodwin suggest 2-3 weeks away. I would say he'll be back for the Carlton game which gives him 3 games under his belt before finals. That would be a good result. We have no business losing to North, regardless of the Clarko factor and the game being at our bogey venue, so I'm happy for them to wait for Carlton.
  17. I wonder where he will sit in the coaches votes leader board tomorrow night, as he’ll be receiving high end votes in this game.
  18. Good interview with Yze just then on triple M. 1) confirmed Trac will play 80/20 forward. 2) Actually gave a bit of solid info about Clarry. They’re targeting the North game for his return. Trained well during the week. 3) Wants to put his name in the hat for the Richmond job.
  19. The Collingwood supporters I speak to would rather play us than Geelong in the finals, despite our win over them.
  20. And a Collingwood.
  21. Curnow 43 West Coast 15 Lucky the bottom team are rich and not say North Melbourne.
  22. Thanks for sharing that. Not surprised in the slightest about BBB and Lever. Both come across as ripper individuals.
  23. More than happy for GC to beat GWS. I'm still stinging from our preventable loss to GWS and it would be kind of good to see the Suns play in their first finals series. Plus the added bonus of them staying above Freo.
  24. Looks as though most of you are getting your wish as the CEO's provided a luke warm response to the idea. Oh well, back to twiddling our thumbs during the pre finals bye instead of having two blockbuster games on TV and potentially getting 80,000 to the MCG for one of the games. What a silly idea that was.
