  1. Possibly, but the word is that they're picking up Hayden Skipworth.
  2. I don't believe for a second that CJ will be at the club. However I wouldn't be sooking and demanding a refund of my membership if we did. He's a handy player and it would be nice to stick it up Carlton who clearly have him in their best 22 next year. I've said all along that if we're going down the path of drafting re-cycled players, then we should select Greg Bentley from Port. Easily the best experienced player available who's under 24.
  3. Yeah agree with that, but surely if he cares about the club he should be obliged to donate a little bit of money given his extreme wealth. What's a spare $20,000 if you're worth millions. If he doesn't give a damn about the club, then fine don't donate. That being said, he may have already contributed to the debt demolition.
  4. Recruited in the 2005 draft. Debuted in 2007.
  5. Edited for accuracy!
  6. Can't have a thread in the draft and trading board without this bloke being mentioned.
  7. Fantastic!! He'll be like a new recruit this year. Expecting big things from Petterd, if some of his debut games were anything to go by.
  8. I reckon he's best hope would be taking the opposition's 3rd best forward. I liked what I saw of him in the 2007 pre season games, as he had a bit of run and carry about him and wasn't afraid to take the opposition on in our defensive 50. However since then he's failed to impress me and probably the majority of supporters. Wouldn't be surprised if the club shopped him around during trade week.
  9. I reckon the rationale behind picking McDonald and Bruce as co-captains is: They consider McDonald better 'skipper' material than Bruce. However they may also believe that McDonald may not last the year given his age. Therefore they have Bruce as a back-up who will solely lead the club should McDonald retire or languish in the VFL. Also maybe the club convinced Junior to play on another year with the promise of captain. I think they'll wait another year to see whether Sir Brock is capable of playing 20 games a season. Green has missed the boat, you'd think.
  10. Awesome! We're killing North (3,200) at the moment. Although they don't have the 'member for life' category. Bulldogs were 10,000 last Monday.
  11. Strauss 8 games Bail 6 games Watts 5 games Jetta 3 games Bennel 3 games Blease 1 game
  12. My thoughts are that a bloke that loaded who is passionate about the MFC should be donating a 6 figure sum without even being approached.
  13. Congratulations to Colin Sylvia for coming 52nd on this list
  14. I'm actually expecting that line up V Hawthorn in the NAB Cup, with a sprinkling of seasoned players.
  15. According to their website, North are sitting on 2,800. Combine a poor 2008 finish and the loss of sympathisers and I doubt they'll crack 30,000 next year.
  16. I know every man and his dog are demanding Casey Sibosado (because he reminds us of Buddy Franklin) for pick 1 in the PSD, but is he actually on the club's rader??? I wouldn't be surprised if he goes very late in the rookie draft. Other than Sibosado, I really want a KPF or a ruckman. No more pacey midfielders or goal sneaks!
  17. I thought the only draftee under an injury cloud was Blease
  18. And unlike North, 25% of those members won't be dogs, cats and sympathetic cheque books.
  19. B Whelan Warnock Martin HB Wheatley Garland Buckley C Green Moloney Morton HF Davey Miller Bate F Sylvia Newton Wonaeamirri Foll Jamar Bruce McLean INT PJ Strauss Jones Grimes EMG McDonald Petterd Dunn Notes: Rivers and Robbo won't be right for round 1, while I hear Blease is recovering from an injury so I'd rule him out too. Strauss to be our only 1st gamer. Could easily have Petterd, Dunn, Maric, Bartram, Frawley, Bell, McDonald and other 2008 draftees in the team depending on NAB Cup form, match-ups and injuries. We actually have a bit of depth when we don't have injuries - which is never
  20. Casey Sibosado or Greg Bentley.
  21. Buddy Franklin - Mark II Amazing that a club didn't use a 5th or 6th rounder on him Obviously he has issues. I'd love to take the risk on him at pick 1 in the PSD. Who cares if it backfires as he's effectively an 8th round draft pick.
  22. Would be apt, considering he was picked at 17.
  23. I'm surprised that apart from Watts, we haven't drafted any KP's up forward. Our forward line still needs to be addressed IMO, as we only have Robbo (almost finished), Miller, Newton (huge ??) and now Watts as our key targets. I would've like to have drafted another tall forward at 17 or 19- A 10 year imposing twin tower combo. Maybe next year.
  24. Surely he must be a tall. Also mature age at 20.
  25. Cheers for the info. Good sign that WC were keen.
