  1. If Adelaide, Freo and Port could all win 8 plus games in their debut then why can't GC?
  2. My top 10 - just overall in skill, ability, match winning ability and proven track record: 1 Brad Green 2 Col Sylvia 3 Aaron Davey 4 James Frawley 5 Mark Jamer 6 Liam Jurrah 7 Jack Grimes 8 Brent Moloney 9 Tom Scully 10 Cale Morton Blokes like Rivers, Petterd, Dunn, Jones, Garland, MacDonald and Trengove unlucky.
  3. I eat humble pie when the time comes. I wrote Frawley off when Corey Jones kicked 4 on him in 2007. I hope I get proven wrong here as well.
  4. In my 22 years of watching the Dees I've never seen a youngster so out of his depth than Strauss. It seems like the only reason we picked him was on the back of that horrible 2008 when most of the list couldn't hit the target. I think we stuffed this top 20 pick up. Saw the Essendon and Brisbane games and he hasn't improved an inch.
  5. Looks like Petterd will be a certain 22 barring a mishap. Wonna may be a surprise inclusion as we need fwd line pressure and that's his forte.
  6. Couldn't agree more. It's time for Bailey to start winning games. I doubt he'd survive any other league around the world with his current win- loss record.
  7. I would sack him after round 6 if we're winless. It's time that wins and losses count when assessing Bailey's performance. He wouldn't survive any other league around the world if a 15-50-1 record actually got worse.
  8. I wouldn't bother with anybody at this stage, but Evans would be the leading candidate. Nicholson slaughtered every possession last week while at least Evans has a bit of composure.
  9. The best case scenario would be for Fev to behave himself, earn respect from the Melbourne Footy club and we draft him for 2 years when we're giving the top 8 a shot. A forward line of Fev and Jurrah would scare the crap out of the comp. Otherwise what a waste of time from a development point of view.
  10. The good news- we're missing Jurrah, Green, garland, Davey, bartram, grimes, mckenzie, frawley and Morton. The bad news is we're playing very ordinary footy. So many simple skill errors and turnovers. Petterd took some ripper grabs that pleased the fans. I wouldn't ripped into Watts had he not have kicked a nice goal on the flank. Scully has had about 2 touches. Either he's not going near the ball or the balls not going near him. Great to see Tappscott get a couple of kicks including a 60mtr bomb that set up the opening Martin goal.
  11. For some reason I keep on thinking Morton is Gws bound.
  12. I'd like to think this is the first year where the win-loss ratio counts a little. If we fail to win 8 games then surely he's out.
  13. Afl is inspecting ground tomorrow according a Casey newspaper.
  14. Martin, Warnock, Strauss, Jones and a couple of others are complete dead wood and I hope none of these blokes get seen in the red and blue this year. Watts must have read his article 5 mins before the game as he was back to his 2009 perform. I can't believe people actually think we'll play finals. Not having a crack at Grimes, but isn't it typical that as soon as the club mentions the word finals we go to compete water. Happened in 2007, late last year when people were talking us up and again tonight. Crap effort 2nite and more work ahead than first thought. Thank god this game will mean nothing come tomorrow morning. Vent over!
  15. Excellent response RR. I guess you need some some variety and surprise in the Bluey. Having said that if our 4 most talented players- Sylvia, Davey, Green and Jurrah all play 20 plus games, then we'll likely win 11 + games.
  16. Call of the year so far. If we can get 20 games out of these 3 plus Jurrah we'll win more than we lose. 1 Davey 2 Sylvia 3 green Smokey - Dunn after a 40 goal season?
  17. 2007 - Hawks at Etihad 2008 - Cats in Geelong 2009 - Hawks at Tassie 2010 - Freo at Subi
  18. Bail's kicking effectiveness is what may keep him out of the 22. Just misses too many targets. However I love his run/carry and ball winning ability.
  19. 2007 - round 1 V's Hawks @ Etihad, we lost.
  20. I reckon Bate, Dunn and Petterd are fighting for 2 spots in the fwd line. Not sure if we can fit all 3 in.
  21. Funny how Mahoney's one and only negative player feedback was directed at Jack Trengove.
  22. Jurrah for me. I'd also keep Watts over Scully.
  23. Maybe he flies under the rader due to his quiet end to the season last year. He came back in round 19 after injury and couldn't replicate his promising start. I'd argue Trengove's first 14 games were better than Scully's.
  24. I hope to eat humble pie but I don't think he'll make it. It's his third season and hasn't developed much.
