I'll go for the best available VIC midfielder. Kelly, Freeman or Crouch. I don't want to recruit someone who is that desperate to play for Adelaide, and worry that he'll be on the first flight back once his contract expires.
-
Package both of them for a half eaten ham sandwich and a 6th round draft pick.

For us anyway. Why the hell would Sydney trade one of their best players in Hannabery? Doesn't make any sense.

Tomas Bugg & Matt Buntine
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Weekends at Bernie's's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wasn't Adams put on a serious assault charge a couple of years ago. Wouldn't touch him with a 40 foot pole. -
Not coming to VIC. Lock this, the Tom Rockliff and the Rory Sloane thread please.

With our 0/3 free agency record in terms of retaining players (Sylvia, Rivers and Moloney) you start to think if there is any player for the Dees that will resist free agency and stay loyal. Here is my take on our best and most talented players: Jones - The big one. Our best player in terms of performance and value. Up for restricted free agency in exactly 2 years time. Seems to show genuine passion, love and care if his B&F speeched are anything to go by. Grimes - I would think he and Viney would be the greatest hope of staying. Barracked for the Dees as a kid and is captain. How many captains have changed clubs recently? Trengove - I think likely. I get the impression the club means a lot to him Garland - Unknown. Seems to show genuine care for the club. Frawley - The other big one. Up for restricted free agency next year. Cannot afford to lose him. Says he bleeds 'red and blue'. Who knows? Viney - See Grimes. Toumpas - Too early but SA factor Clark - Shows genuine enthusiasm and love for the club via Twitter. Would a WA team be waiting for him in the next year or 2? Cannot go via free agency until 2019. Dawes - Unknown. I think he'd have aspirations for being captain or VC. McKenzie - Showed great loyaly by resisting an offer from Adelaide while on the MFC rookie list. However that was 4 years ago. Hogan - Way too early to discuss but will give us heart burn each time he nears out of contract status.

Agree but there is no honesty anymore in footy.

Janesch is an elite kick. A bit maligned by AFC fans and got dropped a bit this year. His kicking is a weapon though. It think he's half back/ half forward flanker type player.

Dean Terlich Engagement Congatulations
Bring-Back-Powell replied to puntkick's topic in Melbourne Demons
The only thing I got out of that is Terlich may be out the MFC door? -
I'm sure he still posts around here under an alias. I wonder if he ended up being picked up in the National Draft all those years ago....

2013 Player Review - # 36 Aaron Davey
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
If Davey could play like he did against Dogs in round 23, every week, he would've been really handy next year. Probably the right decision in retiring and/or being delisted, but our small forward options are threadbare at the moment. -

Captain 2014 My Tip Jack Grimes

Dawes reeks of captaincy material. The fact he only players 12 games this year will work against him. -
2013 Player Review - # 34 Dean Kent

Haha sorry, My point was that we wanted Tapscott to be that dynamic, tough and exciting half forward flank that kicked the big goals. Kent looks closer than Tapscott in respect to the above. -
2013 Player Review - Maia Westrupp

Yeah would seem a waste of time to get him over for a few VFL ressie games and then give up on him straight away. -
2013 Player Review - # 27 Tom Gillies

Had an up and down season. Needs to work on his consistency next year. -
Makes good sense. The only question is would Collingwood want more compensation than just Sylvia? It's fait to say that Shaw has a far better resume than Sylvia.

Heath Shaw has nominated Melbourne as his club of choice. Sauce - A colleague at work had dinner with her son last night, who has a connection with Leading Teams Sports management.

He impressed me this year. Perhaps a rich mans Luke Tapscott? Needs to work on his set shot for goals. They were diabolical. -

Had a great game V GWS -
Is it true that Clark could've technically played in round 23? Good sign if true.

We're spending $2 million on a player who won't solve our midfield problems. Interesting.

Can the moderators please lock this thread? As if Adelaide are going to let go one of their most valuable assets. Plus Sloane has already declared his heat and soul for the Crows. Confused as to why we're even talking about Sloan as a possible recruit.

Read the other day that Gold Coast are in the process of finalising a long term contract with Swallow.

2013 Player Review - # 14 Lynden Dunn
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Cops a heap on this website, some warranted. But at the end of the day he's had a couple of top best and fairest placings in a row and has given quite good service down back. Be interesting if Roos has Dunn in his best 22.
