Contract discussions put on hold for eleven Demons
Bring-Back-Powell replied to DemonDave's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'd imagine Geelong will offer an insulting pick like a 5th round draft pick for Gysberts, just to see if they can get something for nothing. I doubt they'll be too desperate for him. They probably just have memories of his debut game against Geelong. -
Cloke and Collingwood - to part or not to part?
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Satan's topic in Melbourne Demons
My gut feel is the cub will offer Cloke 6 years @ $1.1 million per season. If that means we win more than 6 games a season, I'm in. -
Let's get him!

Brad Green's Retirement - It's Official
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
If Brad Green looks Neeld in the eye and assures him that his body will enable him to make a meaningful contribution in 2013 and is passionate about playing one more year, then we should give it to him. Don't go down the James McDonald path again! 13 goals in 4 matches is not a bad effort. -
6- Jones 5- Green 4- Howe 3- Grimes 2- Tapscott 1- T McDonald

Had to laugh at the couple of peanuts in the crowd booing Warnock.

Who will tag Ablett now?

Best news all year. The 2 we needed to sign the most

What happens if a team runs out of fit players?
Bring-Back-Powell replied to olisik's topic in Melbourne Demons
The AFL would permit a Casey player I would imagine... I guess it would come down to insurance issues. -
The wooden spoon could seriously be ours
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Bring-Back-Powell's topic in Melbourne Demons
No. Refer to my sentence re: "sick in the guts" The thing that scares me is that given our form post the GWS (bar most of the Freo game) and our injury list I can't see us winning against either of the new sides. -
This thread might be premature but with GWS leading Port by 7 goals, the landscape changes dramatically: Assuming GWS win, and GC beat Melbourne GC beat GWS GWS beat Melbourne Then the spoon is ours. The thought sickens me in the guts BUT With picks 1, 2, Viney, another high pick and a star free agent like Cloke- it's last chance saloon for the Dees to turn this thing around.

Demonland's at it's best after a bad loss. Just laugh at some people's reactions.

Players that have earned a pass mark under Neeld are: Clark Jones Nicholson Grimes Frawley Howe Rivers McKenzie T McDonald Watts Any wonder we're 2-15?

Trengove had his worst ever game on the weekend. Thanks to this captaincy noose around his next, he doesn't have the luxury to find form in the vfl

The Nathan Jones Appreciation thread.....

The only player in the red and blue that makes you proud. -
The list - who goes at the end of the year?
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Soidee's topic in Melbourne Demons
I usually don't like to be harsh on our players but Spencer is a complete spud of a footballer. An ok tap ruckman who is a complete and utter liability with the football. Did anyone see him last week v Port? Got paid a free kick or mark, went back to asses his next option, ended up handballing straight into the man on the mark. Sorry but an AFL footballer can't survive if he's unable to execute the most basic of football fundamentals. -
No that was a Rd 1 Fosters Cup game in 1994 v Brisbane at the Gabba. Alas, we lost that game.
-
For McKenzie maybe?
-
Wasn't he supposed to be the next Scott Pendelbury. Or is he just another Barry Prendergast failure? Not sure at this stage. Really hoping he makes it considering we spent pick 11 on him. I expect him to play seniors in the last 4 matches, assuming his Casey form is ok.

I pencilled this game as a loss the day the fixture came out.

How lucky are we Chris Dawes said no to us.
Bring-Back-Powell replied to ashdemons22's topic in Melbourne Demons
We have the worst forward line in the AFL at the moment. Dawes would be like a messiah, when you consider Rivers, Green (on his last legs) and Petterd are our 3 pronged attack at the moment. -
Liam Jurrah - committal hearing in Alice Springs
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I thought the case would've been thrown out after only 2 of 14 witnesses showed up and the alleged victim was too [censored] to remember what happened? -
$20 suggests he'll get the mystery injury of the week, and play his 250th V GC at the MCG.
-
I agree with you. I think he's shown next to nothing in his 2 games.
