NAB Challenge 1 - Richmond v Melbourne

I say go for the win and play every player not in rehab. Having said that, if none of Clark, Dawes, Hogan or Fitzpatrick play, we won't kick a score. -

How many sausages has Hogan kicked so far? -
When I first saw the thread title I didn't know if the author of the thread was in love with Paul Johnson or Peter Jackson. I agree that Jackson appears to be a better fit for the MFC than previous leaders such as Ray Ellis, Paul McNamee and Steve Harris.

Meanwhile who's going to volunteer to focus on Nicholson and Pedersen? -
This is the MFC we are talking about. We are in the business of injuries.I expect him and Pederson to be CHB and FB at times next year.
-
I could be wrong but didn't Pedo play about 12 games in defence and I'd certainly consider him depth in defence.
-
Guys don't panic. The reason why we traded for Pedersen and put him in a 3 year contract is so he would be the heir apparent for chip in Pedo's 3rd year. Brilliant medium term list management by the organisation.
-
My pick is Georgiou. I wouldn't be surprised if he plays 10-15 games this year as depth in defence.
-
4 wins sounds about right for this year. We'll improve but the only teams I can see us beating are: GWS St Kilda Bulldogs at the G Brisbane Gold Coast at the G. We'll no doubt lose half of the above which leaves us at 3 or 4 wins. The rest of the clubs are worlds apart from us.
-
Perhaps Ray Ellis or Paul McNamee might do a Cam Schwab and have a second crack at it?
-
If 8-10 wins is his benchmark than I think we may as well start planning Frawley's farewell game against north in rd 23. 2 wins to 9 wins is too much of a leap.

Interesting that they'd have their first official intra club game after playing Richmond. -

How many times have us supporters fallen for the round 1 trap.Could've sworn we said the same thing about smashing Port and Brisbane in the previous round 1 games. I think St Kilda in round 1 will be a very tough assignment - one that might be a bit too difficult for us seeing that it's at Etihad. -
Edited for accuracy! I noticed that as well. Clark was brillant in 2012 kicking 29 goals in 10 games but we won just 2 games in that period. We actually won just as many games without him in the back half of 2012. And last year when we kicked 12 goals in the last qtr V GWS, Clark was off the ground. But having said that it's hard to argue that he's not the most important player at the MFC.
-
Seems like common sense to me. Who'd blame him if he decided to leave after a 3 win season. The only player who I reckon would truly stay loyal at the club for his whole career would be Grimes. And I don't believe we'd match any other offers if he wants out. No other club has matched an offer since FA has come in. Would be the equivalent of keeping a disgruntled girlfriend who has the hots for someone far more attractive (ie -Hawthorn)

I laughed.

MFC Captaincy Announcement at 2.45pm Wednesday
Bring-Back-Powell replied to GawnWithTheWind's topic in Melbourne Demons
I somehow don't think a position in the MFC leadership group will make much of a difference when Hawthorn come knocking on Frawley's door with a fat offer. If that was a concern they would've made Frawley sole captain. -

And Pedersen in the leadership group.Played in more wins at North in 2011 then Melbourne did under the Neeld/Craig glory years. -
Demons' Jack Watts ready to take on the elite
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Romey's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'd actually take Rich over Watts any day of the week. -
I disagree with this. After the St.kilda game last year, I started a thread stating that Garland was the best player at the club, even better than N Jones.the fact that he just got pipped by Jones in the Bluey suggested to me that the MFC also highly rates him.
