  1. Can't work out the rationale behind playing 3x 200+ cm giraffes in Gawn, Fitz and Spencer. GWS are full of running midfielders while we've fielded the tallest team in history. I suppose with Dawes out, i expect Fitz to play 100% up forward, and Gawn to swap with Spencer in the ruck and forward pocket. It's still too tall for my liking.
  2. Or just crack open an icy cold one at 11:00am sat morning...
  3. I'm actually travelling up for this one. At the start of the year Mrs BBP booked me a footy weekend in Sydney, with the understanding that this would be a guaranteed win. God how wrong we were! I expect to lose and lose badly. Also, not impressed with Craig declaring GWS clear favourites. Straight out of the Mark Neeld school of defeatism, and it's rubbed off on me.
  4. I can't imagine getting anything better than pick 30 for him or a back up midfielder who played VfL for most of the year. If Watts wants to go to Carlton I'd be wanting Robinson, Yarran or McLean as a straight swap. I don't care about the past with McLean, I just want a decent midfielder.
  5. For anyone that cares. Although the fact that this was announced 5 hours ago, I don't think anyone does. So we have to wait till the final game of the year to be put out of our misery.
  6. Wow that was a horrible Sunday arvo that was back in 93. Unlike that game, I actually expect GWS to win the game. Their form in the last 2 weeks V's Collingwood and Essendon has been pretty decent compared to the rabble in the blue and red last week. I honestly don't reckon the players give a stuff anymore, the Craig honeymoon is over and they're already thinking about the end of season trip.
  7. You'd rather a young and vibrant 48 year old president who gets along with the AFL as opposed to an old fart 70 year old politician who's just there for an ego boost, I would've thought.
  8. No chance we finish ahead of the saints. In order for us to finish ahead of st Kilda we would have to win at least 2 games. And the first of those won't come v GWS. Plus St Kilda have a very winnable game vs Gold Coast at Etihad. If the Giants could somehow knock off the suns in the last round we could finish with the number 1 pick.
  9. Thanks davey for the 2 goals you've cost us.
  10. Words cannot describe how much I want Jack Watts to re-sign a beefy 4 year contract with the Melbourne Football Club. Has anyone heard the latest with the contract negotiations? Stuff incentive based contracts, lets offer Jack the farm. The bloke was treated like utter Cow manure under Neeld (eg- rd 3 dropping v west coast but not playing him at Casey) I'm loving his last 5 weeks under Craig. Whether it be kicking 4 goals v Dogs or showing his class up the field v brisbane and even having a good crack in the ruck. Watts is a class player, I think he loves the jumper, and he will be a top 30 afl player in 2 years time. Jack, make all of your beloved supporters day/month/year and sign the dotted line.
  11. I'd say a 10 goal loss tomorrow will be the end of Craig's chances for next year.
  12. I think you'd have better value throwing a $50 note outside the car window.
  13. Agreed. He was brought back into the side in eitherNeelds second last or final game.I'm not one to stick up for Neeld as he was a terrible senior coach but you can't ignore facts.
  14. Or maybe Hogan is the one to miss out?Just because he's the great white hope, his form has to warrant him getting a game. And let's face it, none of Dawes, Clark, Fitzpatrick or Hogan are going to be available at the one time as we are such an injury prone club. I would only trade Fitz for a quality midfielder or classy goal kicking small forward
  15. Rd 20 2006.Won by about 50 and Neitz kicked a few. The good old days...
  16. You know we've hit rock bottom when we're $17 to beat a middle of the road footy club.
  17. If the above actually happened our membership would rise to 50,000
  18. Spewin they're closing level 3. Will mean everyone will be squashed like sardines on the bottom level.
  19. Pass. We have so much small forward talent on our list, that we shouldn't even bother considering another that's kicked 35 goals in a season.
  20. A bit off topic but I'm not sure you drop him based on one really poor game. Remember he played his best career game the week before v Geelong.
  21. I wouldn't mind Mitch Robinson and Brock McLean as steak knives for Watts. But I really want Watts to stay.
  22. I think "failed" is the wrong choice of word for someone who got 27 touches. Not saying he had a fantastic game, but he surely would've got a 5/10 - and thus a pass.
  23. I'm going to keep giving him excuses until the end of the season, due to his injury in pre-season.However if he's still not making an impact next year, then the heat and scrutiny must be applied to him.
