  1. Very good point, except in 2001 we finished higher than North.
  2. In fairness we match up terribly against Carlton. They always seem to grow a leg against us, particularly in our improved years of 15,16 and round 2 this year.
  3. We have to go all the way back to 2016, when we were 4-4 with a percentage of 106.
  4. We've never beaten North in a home and away game on a Sunday as the home side....EVER! Infact we're 0-9. We played them on a Sunday as the home side in 1997, 1999, 2001, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2014 and 2015 and lost them all.
  5. I reckon we smashed some hoodoos on the weekend: The first time we beat Adelaide on a Saturday night since round 2 2001 (when Leoncelli kicked that goal on the siren) The first time we've won a round 8 game since 2006 (Vs Hawthorn)
  6. At the moment would we rather Mills (the bloke we bidded on) or Oliver from the 2015 draft?
  7. As much as I want him to play...No way Hunt plays this week. Would be a poor look if he plays the week after being carted off the ground with concussion.
  8. Our record at the G: 1-3 Our record away from the G: 3-1. It's been a bizzare start to the season.
  9. Have you got Tuesday's tattslotto numbers while you're at it?
  10. Winning 2 of the next 3 (North, GC and Pies) is the absolute minimum expectation in my book. The club has set the bar so high after a performance like that. A big test with respect to our very questionable culture (over the years).
  11. Our forward line is way less predictable, way more efficient and way more fun to watch when he's not there. The Adelaide and Essendon wins back that up.
  12. I may have high expectations but expecting Weed to have a 22 possession, 14 mark, 5 goal game. I know he'll only be playing on the best full back in the league in Talia....but....
  13. They're both over 190cm. Hence like for like.
  14. Anyone know what kind of illness Hogan has? Cold/flu? Gastro? Virus? Or perhaps he's mentally not right to play AFL at the moment?
  15. Thought Salem could've done something special with his elite foot, in that final inside 50 entry. Capped off a poor game from him.
  16. Looks bad on first glance. However, last year we played Freo in Darwin coming off a 6 day break while Freo were coming off a 15 day break, and we won easily. One would hope we'd be good enough to beat Gold Coast In Alice Springs regardless of how many days break each side has.
  17. Pedo missed an absolute sitter of a goal against Port Adelaide in our last win of the 2016 and I reckon he copped it in the neck for that. You're right, our structure did fall apart after he was dropped, and Hogan and Weed were a terrible combo in the last 2 games of last year. We got too cute at selections when finals were on the line.
  18. Hawks beat West Coast by 50pts after back to back 14 goal losses. What makes you so confident they won't bounce back again?
  19. A fair chance the roof will be open as long as it's less than 20% chance of rain. The only time they ever open it is the 1:10, 1:45 or 2:10 games. Ambrose out is handy for us. He's a decent key defender.
  20. Tommy Mac T Mac almost single handedly won us the game against the Dons in 2015 when they threw up forward in the last qtr and he kicked 1.3. Was an absolute handful for the Dons. He's not up to playing on Daniher, so this week might be the week to start him in attack. We could always thrown him back if our defence falls apart.
  21. It's amazing that with all the doom and gloom, we can be back in the 8 with a reasonably healthy percentage if us and West Coast win or West Coast lose by 3 or 4 goals. Percentage is always an indication of the competitiveness of a team and the fact that we have a percentage of over 100 with a losing records indicates that we're not far away. Freo on the other hand have a horrid percentage but a winning record on the back of 2 flukey wins whilst playing poor footy throughout both games.
  22. At least they were nice enough to not put in 2 rucks. Hopefully Bellchambers runs out of petrol in the second qtr. He's had an injury interrupted pre season and hasn't played since 2015.
  23. I think he'll play. Surely given his knee history, they would not have sent him back on the field if he wasn't ok.
  24. Anyone know how Petracca's progressing? Sick of the opposition benefiting from our injuries (particularly in-game) and suspensions to our key players, while most of our opposition have been full strength.
  25. Gotta love some of the Richmond turkeys on Bigfooty, stating that Melbourne are damn lucky that a power house like Richmond let Melbourne play this game.
