Coronavirus: AFL & MFC
They swear like drunken sailors out there if they make a blue or are ignored by a teammate. Kids are going to learn some wonderful new words through the TV!

Coronavirus: AFL & MFC
100% spot on. Round 2, Saturday arvo at the G on a beautiful sunny autumn day, and we can’t see our boys play - is when this thing really is going to sink in.

Coronavirus: AFL & MFC
I’m tipping AFL crowd lockouts and even postponements until July. China has been locked down since the end of January and is expected to resume normal services at the end of April. Some critical industries are set to resume ASAP. Hopefully all this will blow over by July and we can get back to normality.

Coronavirus: AFL & MFC
Great result, if it actually goes ahead.

Coronavirus & Other Sports
That's a pity. Would've been a cracking early season Thursday night game.

Coronavirus & Other Sports
If they postpone the season for say 6 weeks, does that mean we open the season on Sunday 3 May against Essendon per round 7? OR We still have to play WC over there and round 1 gets deferred until early May? I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Rd 01: Weideman vs Jackson
Would be a real "cross roads" moment for Weideman if Jackson is selected ahead of him for round 1 (if it goes ahead). I can't see both of them playing.

Coronavirus & Other Sports
Yeah, most of the Marsh games were called in the Melbourne studio. To Fox's credit, you couldn't really tell the difference and the commentators did a solid job.

Yes.

Coronavirus & Other Sports
They just had Brett Sutton (the bloke that makes the call on cancelling Vic mass gatherings) on Whately’s SEN show. He hinted that AFL games could be played in empty stadiums in about a month- for months not weeks!! So enjoy the GWS game as that could be the last time we get to see the boys live - if we even get that far.

Coronavirus & Other Sports
No crowds from round 3 is my tip. Mass gathering bans in 4 weeks is the latest word.

Injury List 2020
Was always going to happen. Why they scheduled a 3:20 game when 50% of the days in March in Perth are 30 + degrees is just beyond me.
-
OPPOSITION WATCH: Rd 3 vs Fremantle
Freo certainly have one of the worst injury lists at the moment. This is an absolute critical must win game, if the first two tough games don't go our way.

Injury List 2020
I wouldn't be playing Salem in round 1 in 30 degree heat, coming off a significant illness. We need bloody fit blokes that can take it to WC right through to the end. We sacrifice some class ball use from half back though. However, Lockhart showed enough in all 3 pre season games that he'll be an able replacement and is a pretty good user of the pill.

Coronavirus & Other Sports
I wouldn’t hold your breath on that one. If the games go ahead without spectators , it kind of makes the saying “the game of AFL is nothing without the fans” a little redundant.

Coronavirus & Other Sports
I know a win’s a win but geez the enjoyment and satisfaction of winning a game at the G in front of nobody would be seriously diluted.

OPPOSITION WATCH: Rd 1 vs West Coast
That’s disappointing but you ain’t missing 8 weeks with a busted cheek bone. The consolation is he might be a little rusty which could work in our favour.

James Harmes
Yes please.

Might be playing midfield out of necessity on Sunday week if Christian loses the plot with the Viney verdict.
-
James Harmes
Midfield. Remember the days of late 2018 when he was getting 25-30 touches in the midfield while restricting the oppo’s gun midfield. He got back to back BOGs or near BOG in the GWS and Geelong Elim final. I predict he’ll have a slightly down season if he plays a full year in the back line. But hopefully he’s the sort of team player that would be happy to play in any position.

POSTGAME: MS02 vs Hawthorn
I think a fine would be a fair result. It honestly didn’t look good in this day in age of concussion and duty of care of protecting the head. However Stratton didn’t get hurt so I can’t see how a player can get suspended if the “victim” didn’t get hurt or sustained an injury.
-
POSTGAME: MS02 vs Hawthorn
I think that’s during the home and away season. MRP results for all Marsh Series games have been released on the Monday after each weekend, not the day after each game.
-
Rd 01: Weideman vs Jackson
The club will obviously do its due diligence and discuss extensively at team selection over the next fortnight whether we select Fritsch for round 1. As for Weid, I can’t see how he doesn’t play round 1 given we’ve got no other option to back up Gawn.

In reference to the OP question, I’d rather the season be cancelled then be told you can’t attend the game we all love.
