There’s a bit of speculation around town that Collingwood will be playing St Kilda next Sunday at the MCG, which would mean we’ll play GWS in one of the Saturday time slots, maybe even the twilight.
-
I reckon Jones has still got a few games in him. We need senior hardened men out there as we grind through the July and August months and we can't afford some of our younger players to repeat what they dished up against Collingwood over the coming weeks.
-
Yeah, hope the Cats get up tonight to ensure interstate sides stay away from the top 2. Which means they’ll lose.
-
I disagree. The AFL has a battle on in its hand to keep the season alive with state governments closing borders at the drop of a hat, and will be releasing fixtures a week at a time. Therefore in the interests of keeping the season going, a 5 day break for the Dees will be a distant consideration by the AFL.

I can't make it on Saturday night regardless of cap, but it's going to be a nervous wait for other AFL members ticket holders such as yourself and Praha, considering Essendon probably have 6,000 - 8,000 AFL Essendon member club support. You'd think 2,500 - 4,000 AFL members will be allocated tickets to only Dons and Dees support packages.
-
Really good call that. There's no reason why that game could not have been played down in Geelong which is an under utilised stadium IMO and one that has improved significantly as an AFL venue over the last few years. Having said that GWS would back themselves in to beat a struggling Hawthorn at the MCG and they won't mind playing back to back games at the G.

Looks about right. Perhaps a fraction more AFL and MCC members and a fraction less club members I reckon.

The disappearance of training reports

It's too far for Saty to take the old scooter from Richmond to East Cranbourne. -
Yes.

We've followed regional VIC in pretty much every step out of lock down 4. Therefore, I can't see how they'll allow anything more than 20% this weekend which was what they had for Geelong V Dogs last Friday night. Next week V GWS, I'm sure they'll allow 50% if we continue this positive trend of 0 cases or 1 linked case a day.
-
Therein lies the problem. I think it is for some.
-
No, but I reckon they'll give the majority of members tickets to the home team.
-
The journo's have gone with 15-30% since yesterday for both venues. Hopefully it will be 50% for our GWS game the following week, although we could probably accommodate everyone at 25% if we're being honest for that fixture.
-
I'd be amazed if Dees V Dogs isn't on Friday night, and I reckon you could pretty much put that in the diary with certainty...unless we fall off the cliff over the next month.
-
Thankfully Brian Taylor isn't on the Saturday night roster for Ch 7. Whilst we've had our fair share or FTA games lately, we've also had more than enough of BT.

Would that be Drake? They were on board in the 1980's through to 1991. 1992- Snowy mountain spring Water 1993 - Pioneer Homes 1994 to 1997 - Tooheys 1998 to 2003 - LG 2004 to 2008 - Primus 2009 to 2011 - Kaspersky and Hankook 2012 to 2013 - Opel & Webjet 2014 - 2017 - AHG 2018 to 2023 - Zurich We got a good run out of LG in the late 90's/early 2000's.

Absolute guess here but if it's 30,000 maximum (30%), the allocation could be spread as follows: 6,000 MCC members 4,500 AFL members (Ess and Melb support packages with priority) 18,000 Essendon members 1,500 MFC members. A lot of your rank and file MFC supporters will need to wait until the GWS game next week.
-
It was a very poor win off memory. The Dons were horribly out of form and we had finals on the line. We cruised to a 34 point lead in the 3rd quarter only to somehow find ourselves only 7 points down in the last quarter, in shortened quarters.
-
30% crowds next week is the latest goss according to Jon Ralph.
-
Sounds like it’s not a question of whether crowds will be allowed in Melbourne next weekend, but a question of how many? Really hoping it’s 50%.

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?

I could probably think of one club that would be capable of pulling off that disaster. -

As unfavourable a result as it was (and it’s only June) if Geelong and Dogs finish 1st and second, I’m more than happy to finish 3rd or 4th and play either of these mobs at the G. We just need the Lions and West Coast to stay out of the top 2.

Credit to Goodwin. He wouldn’t be carrying on like a pig chop and banging windows in the coaches box. Control your emotions a bit, Scott.

Yeah he’s a dud off the field if the reports are accurate.
