  1. Not all previous quizzes have been straightforward though. Anyways, I think I might have it. Just gotta make sure before I PM Roger. The podium beckons!
  2. Duuude, make replacement bus your friend! I find that when you get on a replacement bus with a giant Jayden cardboard cutout people tend to make way for you. Short of that, here’s what you do: make your way to the front of the queue. Act a little unhinged and no one will arc up at you. Board the bus, pick a window seat and maintain the unhinged demeanour. People will give you a wide berth. If someone oblivious does go to sit next to you, turn to your imaginary friend sitting next to you and say something like, “it’s ok, they’ll never find the body.” Works every time. You’re welcome. 😁
  3. Personally, prep for round one started a few weeks ago at the first of three DA working bees where (among many other things) we went through all our gear in readiness for the season. Well, it really began at the end of last season since not a week goes by without some manner of DA activity. And yes, meeting up for a liquid lunch constitutes DA activity. 😝 I’m currently on my way to Collingwood because the real prep starts today at 3pm for our first (official) banner-making for the year! Yay! Spirits are always sky-high at banner but I think today will be next level. ❤️💙
  4. Of course not!!! 😂 Incidentally, I didn’t ask him about his foot for several reasons… 1) I’ve been getting around on a fractured foot for over three months now and he’s never once asked me about how my injury’s coming along. 🙃 2) I’d get donuts from him anyways. His mum on the other hand… 3) I never ask players footy-related questions. I’ll ask, for example, what’s your all-time favourite song? Or, Neapolitan ice cream: vanilla, chocolate or strawberry? Or, who’d win in a fistfight: Bec Maddern or Samantha Armytage? (I asked this of one of our coaching staff and he answered, “I don't know who’d win, but I’d love to watch it!” 😁)
  5. I saw Fritta run to the men’s room on Friday night, if that’s any help. Doesn’t necessarily mean his foot is fully healed, might’ve just been busting for the loo. 😂 Seriously though, if he’s not right for Round One it’s through absolutely no fault of his own. He heals faster than the average person, he abides by everything the experts tell him and he has an unwavering determination to be 100%. And for all the Fritta fans… he even forewent drinking at his mum’s birthday party because players in rehab can’t have alcohol whatsoever. He is a coach’s dream in this respect.
  6. So rude of “friends” who schedule weddings during the footy season!!! 😂
  7. The corners flick with such force. They’ll take an eye out one of these days! 😵 And a goal scored can result in a footy to the head or face. Fine if it’s a Dees goal, not fine if it’s not. 🤕 Don’t even get me started on the flagpoles.
  8. The only way to see more of the action would be to not sit up front in our bay aka the Bay of Carnage risking life and limb and possibly an eyeball, but where’s the fun in that?!
  9. I’ll be doing the usual: taking in maybe 10% of play (despite being there) then reading what happened on the GameDay thread on the train ride home, then watching the replay once I’m home. #SquadTrials&Tribulations
  10. All I got from this article is that they need a proofreader.
  11. Mustn’t forget Kozzie’s winner with seconds left on the clock, round 22 at the ‘G vs Carlton last year. ❤️💙
  12. This is undeniable, Jimmy. What we hear from the stands is nothing compared to what the players hear from the ground. Must be some sort of acoustics thing (?) Last QB match, we were on the ground waiting to raise our banner. When the Collingwood players ran out the noise was absolutely staggering. It was literally deafening as in I couldn’t hear the person next to me even if yelling. It was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. When our boys ran out, again the crowd noise was off the charts, only this time it was booing. There’s simply NO WAY this doesn’t have an effect on the players.
  13. I know who trod on Fritta’s foot. Hey, this can be our next quiz! Answers in PMs only (looking at you, @Lampers!) First clue: it’s a male person Second clue: he plays for the MFC Third clue: It was accidental Three clues right off the bat. Ya don’t get that with @Demonstone et al. JK not a legit quiz. Please don’t PM any answers. 😁
  14. I’m confused. This figure was reached at 3:34pm today according to a DA member in the know. Maybe you have E.S.P.,Daise.
  15. I’m not scared of Jaded. Not one bit. edit: I’m actually in awe of Jaded. She has a great footy-brain and bigger balls than many of the males on here. And she’s very funny. Respect ✊
  16. Would happily do so if I knew what a NEIPA was. A type of beer? Anyways, not sure the brewery or anything for that matter will be staffed. Sounds like the entire population of Coldstream will be at the party. As per usual I expect to be mercilessly [censored]-canned for coming from Snorbs, but I cop it because to be fair everything they say is true. 😁
  17. The unfurling of the flag will be at Casey Fields before the start of our VFL round 1 match versus the Dogs. For lunatics like me (and many in the DA) it means going straight to Casey from the airport having arrived on Saturday morning from our AFL round two match vs Lions at the ‘Gabba on the Friday night. Bugger having such a successful Club… so many unfurlings to squeeze in 😂
  18. On this Dees celebrate IWD thread… shoutout to an amazing woman who, despite having originally been a diehard Collingwood supporter in her former life, is now a loud n proud Dees girl and always will be. People know her as Fritta’s mum. I know her as Paulsy. Taking Covid out of the equation, she’s only missed attending five of Fritta’s matches, and that includes every junior game with Coldstream as well as every game with Casey. The whole Frittata clan love that Bayley’s a Demon and that the MFC culture is what it is. PS: I’ll be at Paulsy’s 50th birthday party tonight. The good folk of Coldstream know how to party. Thus far I’ve survived such, relatively unscathed. Got a feeling tonight might be an exception. 😁 And no, I won’t be asking Fritta about his goddamn foot.
  19. Our AFLW flag unfurling will be at halftime Round One (men’s). And it’s most definitely NOT off-topic, LFS. 🙂
  20. Thank you NC 💖 When I first joined DL my levelheaded firstborn said, “oh mum, you won’t last five minutes. It’s full of blokes. They’ll carve you up.” My unlevelheaded secondborn said, “Nah, they won’t know what hit ‘em, she’ll slay it. ” Happy to say it’s coming up two years and I’m still here! Yay! PS for those playing along at home, my precious baby boy didn’t have an opinion either way. If it’s not about gaming, it doesn’t exist.
