Spargo produced a much game in the 23 finals than McCreery did or could. Not sure what Spargo was doing for the rest of the year but his spark was back and looks set for a good 24.
-
Surely that is aimed at us
-
I'd prefer it stayed that way but its hard to fly under the radar when you are a premiership CHB at 21 and kick bags of goals when you go forward
-
If his foot holds up he will have more trade value than he does now but i hope he stays, more valuable to us than draft picks.
-
I'd be amazed if Melbourne hadn't come to an agreement with McAdam before he nominated us
-
I am firmly is the keep Petty camp but I'm guessing it comes down to how highly JT rated Thilthorpe is his draft year.
-
If we are making a play for the number 1 pick & Reid there are going to be alot of dissapointed people who want us to change our game plan. This would signify we are doubling down on it. The bloke is a human battering ram that gets it forward at all costs. I haven't seen any evidence he kicks like Nick Daicos.
-
He wont be replacing him as a forward
-
I don't know why we even bother with early picks when we do so well in 25 - 40 range
-
I'm death riding whoevers picked at 14
-
This. We seem to do well when we trade picks
-
I'll back JT to bring in talent with the draft picks. He has the runs on the board and will continue to deliver. A key ingredient in building a strong competive list is retaining the talent. Looking to the future at all costs is no way to build a list. You seem like you are happy to go for the early picks but you'd trade the player we get in 5 years for more early picks. Retaining talent is easier and more benefitial than brining in new talent.
-
And Adelaide don't rate Petty based on their offer...
-
@Macca you keep tying the draft pick we reciece with some kind of inverse relationship to the proportion (if any) of salary we pay. Is this common? I would have thought the more you value someone the more willing you are to pay their salary and offer a better pick not one going the opposite to the other. Understand there has to be a balancing act with a range of factors just interested is this how trades work nowdays?
-
I hope Sydney pay pick 25 for Adams. There is no way we are taking less for Grundy who they need more and doesn't have re-occuring soft tissue injuries.
-
The pressure is on Sydney to get the deal done. Grand finalists 2 years ago, bombed out this year with dubious goal reviews that always go carltons way and have just bolstered their midfield stocks. They will see Grundy as an essential piece to having a crack at the premiership. The deal is nowhere near as important to us he can play at Casey unless Gawn is injured.

You can vote a political party out
-
This is it. I am completely biased Melboune but i would expect our players to be suspended for the same act
-
That will be intriguing. Will be awkward for the AFL if Brayshaw is forced to retire following that thugs AFL sanctioned footballing act
-
Steff Martin in reverse tall who plays small - back / forward - melb / bris
-
The wrong player is often picked at number 1. In 2015 we traded to up the draft order to get Clarry at number 4 when no one else rated him that highly. We apparently haven't interviewed Reid but if we do trade to get that pick i am confident we will get it right.
-
Serious question with all Goody's talk of culture and standards at the b&f are we all missing something hiding in plain sight because of the Oliver fiasco? There is alot of mystery around Grundy's non selection in the QF.
-
So you wouldn't take Nick Daicos then either?
-
I think this list is one you want to be near the bottom of. Look at the premiership sides since 2012. I'm guessing the better teams attracted top end talent with there free agents and lost fringe players

Watch for Adelaide's draw after missing the finals because a non score review debacle. Guessing they get a FIX-ture
